I had a surreal moment with this song last night. I was so enraptured while listening to the band, and realized after my upmteenth listen that my dad would absolutely love this song as well. I texted him the link thinking I might have just turned him on to a new favorite. Only for him to reply by telling me that when our family first moved to the US in the late 90's he bought a Red Pontiac and used to pop in his Dave Koz cassettes as we drove around. So here I am pushing 30 and just discovering Dave's playing through my appreciation for Cory's work, only to find out that four year old me used to ride around with my Dad jamming to Dave all those years ago. Small world.
Just had this experience with turning my dad onto a Cory Wong and Bela Fleck collab. My dads been jammin to Bela Fleck since before I was born lol

@@Jonnysh I was gonna say exactly this! Nobody looks as happy to be at a gig than Petar! This was also true when I saw Cory and his band live at the end of 2019 before the pandemic took away live music for almost a year! Petar's drum kit was positioned down-stage (which NEVER happens for a drummer, by the way) and I was fortunate enough to be standing where I could see Petar playing the whole gig, along with having line of site to Cory. Petar is a beast and he loves every second of his life playing the drums!

Koz is playing an alto, not a curvy-sop... and killing it. That horn section instrumentation change was sneaky and delicious. Thanks guys.
nah boss, it's a curvy soprano, Koz is just 4' 8" so the horn looks bigger proportionally

It’s an alto. A sop doesn’t sound like that. His sound is similar to Eric Marienthal, but a bit sweeter
