This car back in the day when your bro got one had to be a really cool time in your life. Perfect car for that era. Cars Bids fairly recently sold a silver one, blue interior, with dished bbs wheels, manual. That's specific car made me really take a liking to these.
I love theses Cars I worked at a BMW dealership in Beaverton Oregon and got to deal with these cars as a head detailer ! Love the M-series and I loved the 840il ,850il coupes 740il ,850il ,M3 and the m series ! Thanks for bringing me back to the 90’s
Have two of the last real M versions with the S54 engine...both E86 coupes. One has been "molested" but have all the original parts to go back to stock...other one is stock. Both under 50k km...great cars...allot of fun.
I owned an Evergreen on Evergreen 2000 M Coupe and tracked it. With just a few light mods, (Clutch stop, Transmission reinforcement and R888R’s) it makes a very satisfying track car. Mine was considered more optimized! 😊
This is the 240hp/236tq version of the car. The S52 motor. You can also tell from the video because the S54 versions had gray faced gauges. Obviously under the hood as well. You will see the single throttle body. Needless to say the final year cars with the S54 are more expensive. If you had a small exit in silicon valley back in the day this is a car you would get although I saw more M roadsters. Incidentally they could not put in a six speed manual even with the S54 due to the size of the transmission.
The long throw on the clutch is an easy fix. Had a 2001 330i with the same issue. If memory serves, you should be able to add a longer bolt bringing the clutch stop out an inch or so which totally changes the driving experience of the car.
@@andrewhkimya , it wouldn’t be an option then. On the 330i the engagement point was several inches from the actual stop. So, extending the stop brought it more inline with the engagement point.
I'm with you, I love how it looks. I wanted one of these REAL BAD, but they were just out of reach financially. ☹ I ended up getting a used VW Golf R instead. A lot of the roads you drove on look very much like the rural roads here in Twin Falls county Idaho. Most are "chip seal" here.
Not too shabby for a 25 years old car. Probably around $5000 maybe a little more because of low mileage (although the low miles on these type of old cars are questionable).
Not the most desirable version of the clown shoe, but that Imola red paint looks good. You'll get someone that will want it. These are getting harder and harder to find in good condition and in this case, stock.

It was super exciting when he bought it. I always loved when he let me borrow it.
Great for us drummers
Oh yeah, lots of space in the hatch.
I moved cross country twice w/ what I could fit inside.

You bet
You and Hoovie got cars just alike.
Hoovies has a newer engine, plus the added benefit of sand and flood water😂😂
Yup. Mine just never went under water. LOL!
I owned one of these in my early 20s and personally put a 100,000 miles on it myself. It was an awesome car!
Yeah, they are really fun
Great color combo. Black interior gives it the true sports car feel. These M seats are very nice too.
Yeah, the seats are really comfy

Love these - thank you for your variety of cars!
Variety is the spice of life!
I rode around Texas World Speedway with one of my instructors who owned one. That thing was extremely quick around that track... definitely a fun car.
Heck yeah.

Fascinating timing

Ah there we go
Weird. Clutch engagement for me is right off the floor. If you pull it out an inch then you wouldn’t be able to completely disengage the clutch.

Yeah, lots of chip seal out there but that's where there's no cops, and lots of turns.
Sweet little car !!!!
I think so
Love this cars
Me too!
Great video. Thanks 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
love it!
Thanks
Sweet fun car, and i think the looks are great.
Yeah, they are a ton of fun!
I was always a fan of these cars. Back in the day when BMW was the Ultimate Driving Machine. Agree with you, they definitely lost their way.
Yeah it's kinda sad
love clownshoes!
Heck yes!
I love weird cars like this and the Panamera, FF, GTC4 Lusso, Rapide.… 🤔 Or am I weird for the cars I like 🤷🏾♂️ I don’t know 😂
I like them too
That’s pristine 😊
Yup
I miss my 1990 325i 4 door....
158k trouble free miles....
Nice
Hahahahahaha clown shoe is very accurate and hilarious
Yup

Hard to believe they are 25 years old now
Love the dead sticker.
I love shooting brake body styles, but the wife hates them, so………..
Divorce it is...lol
LOL!!

Yup!
Good for short medium and tall people ?
It's got a pretty good amount of head space
240 BHP, it feels slower than the Giulia Veloce, which is 280 BHP (probably 290~300 with high flow air filter)
Ah well it's still fun
@normalguysupercar absolutely yes!! Wasn't implying is not fun 😊
"it could use more torque" he says riding the clutch out of each gear
OOOOHHHH NOES!!!
Its sad to say, but this BMW is more of a BMW, than anything is their current line.
True
I love BMW but not the 🤡 shoe
Opposite for me. LOL!
365/343, but I just do not understand the appeal of these things. Meh.
Haha it's definitely love or hate
