I did my first cook on my Kettleman today. To say I love it is a understatement. It did not use as much charcoal as I thought would be enough, I used 20 chunks and I cooked 14 1/4# burgers, 16 hot dogs and 6 cheddar dogs. The burgers where as juicy as if I had cooked them on my char-broil infrared gas grill. The charcoal still had lots left so I piked out of the grill and put them an steel bucket that will snuff them out for use on the next grill. Being disabled a grill this easy to use is a dream...
Dear Char-Broil company. Would you please make a smaller version of this grill. Weber has a smokey Joe 14 inch model. It would be great if the Kettleman also came in a 14 or 16 inch model. The 16 inch model could serve all grilling needs on the go like grilling on the beach, camping, hunting, or juts two on a fishing trip. Please consider making a smaller version of the Kettleman.
Could he use a lower charcoal grate if you wanted to that one looks so close , it's probably supposed to be that way but it'd be nice to have both options
@@brittsbackyardbbqngrill Thanks! Do you remember the name of the item? I’m not finding a coal rake under tools and utensils. Wondering if I search for it more specifically I could find it through another retailer possibly? Thanks again!
Great to see Char Broil move their Tru Infrared technology into the charcoal grills. Always wondered if that would have been possible. BTW, has Char Broil stopped selling the Tru Infrared Patio Bistro 240?? I don't see it up on their site anymore.
Lol, I can see that. When I first bought it I watched some videos so I knew to not do that. But I put it away for the winter, and the first time I got it out this season I put them all the way at the bottom too. But something just didnt feel 'normal'
ZeidGho No doubt. I wish I could upload a picture of how I had to rig this thing to hold my temp. Closed the damper all the way, used foil paper to plug every vent holes around the firebox, propped the lid open half way and covered half of the gap with foil paper. How do you make a $150 kettle that allows one to transfer almost no conventional grilling skill and experience. This is the BlackBerry of charcoal grills. Smh!!!
Is there supposed to be an open space in the back above the wind reflector? I just got mine and I just noticed it, it seems like it would let a lot of heat out.
Mike Potapa Thanks for noticing! The rib racks are a new accessory being developed. When they're available we'll announce where you can get them on charbroil.com You can receive updates by subscribing to our newsletter.

Their is a small version
the only thing this needs is some way to choke off the air supply so that you can preserve the coals a bit for next time.
I can't find those rib racks on your website. Did you ever sell those? If not who does?
I would like them to make a warning rack for this grill. I love my CharBroil Kettleman.
I love this grill!

Where can you get the coal rack that is used in this video? I have looked on the char-broil web site and it is not offered there. Thanks, Britt

where can I order a new cooking grill replaacement, mine has begun to rust, even though we have the cover for it. Thanks, live in New Jersey.
This thing is tough? I love it.
What gets the coals to burn up the quickest? Open the lid, close the lid with the damper closed, or close the lid with the damper opened?
I ve been doing it wrong for years i have been putting the coals all the way at the bottom smh .

Yes, this gap is for necessary ventilation.

Science
This is great however I cannot find any video's as to how to assemble this Grill! Ugh!!!!!
Deonna Campbell Did you lose your directions?? I'm not mechanically inclined but this was easier than some Lego sets.
open to bring the temp down?! seriously..... and this company makes grills... derrr
Jeremiah Johnson do you have one? I do and this works better then any Weber I have ever had.
Correct! I watched another video of theirs for the same kettleman and it said the exact opposite!
