It’s crazy to see how top riders like Neil and Blake still have a lot to learn in the mountain bike world It just shows how many different mtb disciplines there are Great video🤘
I think this is the best motivational video I’ve seen. Pro mountain bikers practising skills and being out of their comfort zone. Also Neil saying he needs to practice on a smaller scale before sending it off the bench. Really impressive message about good practice there. Thank you. :)
Martyn really reminded me of Patches O'Houlihan in dodgeball: the 5 b's of trials: balance bounce brake boost and balance If you can dodge a stick you can dodge a tree!
@@soupgaming5923 thanks man! I am currently using Kenda Nevgal tires on my chair but they make my chair super wide and have me banging into every doorway in my house. The deep tread also makes it easy to track dirt in on the floors. Looking for something with a little bit of width but not such an aggressive tread. Thanks again for the suggestion!
This is such a pleasure to see you guys doing trials. You connect trials with trail riding which turns every trail into a playground. The progress Blake and Neil make with Marty's advice... Incredibile! Extra point for Neil for admitting not being comfortable with the table drop. This is crucial when riding with friends if you do not want to end up in the hospital. I hope there are more episodes to come.
One of the best thing for newbs, or just those of us who really struggle with new techniques, is to see pros having to really work at something to get it right. In a way it humanizes the act and makes the technique seem attainable if one is willing to put in the sweat. Thanks guys-great video as always.
I really loved this video. So impressed by how quickly those guys pick this stuff up but also valuable to see how much respect they give to the higher risk table. I find it tempting to immediately try to move to a bigger obstacle, but this helps reinforce that it makes more sense to dial in the skill on something safe and small. To see Neil, who is such a fantastic rider, smartly bow out at the end until he has practiced more is a great lesson.
Nice Series. Keep it going guys. For me, riding since a year now, these kind of skill videos are really helpful. They keep me motivated working on my ridingskills. Thanks a lot!
I think this is going to be a great series to watch. It shows how hard trials really is when two pro bike handlers like Neil and Blake have so much to learn.
This was awesome, I love videos like this, I can’t wait for the next episode. It was good to see someone like Neil back out of something with the interest of safety. 🤘
This is a great new series! And yes! I want trials progression uploads! Showcasing how to practice trials (e.g. draw ledge boundary on ground first) is a great way to get more riders involved in honing their balance and ultimately make the sport safer. Kudos to Neil for identifying when one's confidence is not up to the challenge yet - too often do we hear the "just send it" tip in the sport.
A really fun video and shows exactly how much trials is mental ability as it is physical ability. Ya got to get it right in your head first, start small and work up to bigger things
Great video - more of this type please and more detail on technique and how to break it down - have never done a pedal / brake action but am going to try tonight!
This is very good coaching!! Tks for that! And showing that it's all about Pedal, Brake and Repeat alot! It's the only way! Ok, now I got to get on my bike! 😄
F**king perfect, i've been waiting for a series like this ever since i've gotten my trials bike from inspired. So glad to see my progress and be able to analyse what I need to improve from this, Thanks for doing this Martyn and the boys :)
I first heard in my head before you said you had drawn edges around them that " To make it harder for them Im going to hit them with this stick" Also, this is the best bunch. Loads of laughter and fun everytime. Its just the best of everything.
I met Martyn in 1995, I think, at the bike show along with the rest of the MBUK guys, got to see him performing live absolutely fabulous guy. He signed a denim Jacket for me, will have to look in the loft if I still have it.
This is such an interesting video! It shows that whatever your riding level, riding an MTB is a mental challenge! It's easy to watch Neil and Blake hit massive features and ride at speed over seriously difficult terrain, but this video shows they are human after all :-)
This was quality. Love this one! M, you are hilarious 😂 and such a good coach! I’m up to about 15 seconds on my track stand! And Blake hop-compensating was killing me 😂
This is amazing. Martyn's cemented himself here as trials Yoda and i don't think anyone could disagree! "this is what it feels like if i touch you with my foot" fuckin legend xD
Martyn I get the impression it’s like working with a group of children. Especially Blake 😂 Pedal Brake Pedal BLAKE!! You don’t need to add a hop in!!! 😂 keep up the good work fellas!!!
Should we get Martyn to put a section in the uploader so he can follow your progression on these trials skills? Let us know and get practicing!
Great idea! :)
Perfect! And I've just bought an Ashton trials bike to chuck about, so double perfect! 😎👌
Please do more of these videos.
Probably one of my favorite videos ever GMBN!! AND IM NOT EVEN GOOD AT TRIALS.
This is really an amazing section. Please make more of these!
*pokes Neil with stick*
"this is what it feels like when I touch you with my foot"
Thats hilariously disgusting
Paralysis jokes. You’re an inspiration martyn😂
I was gonna type the exact thing, had me rolling. People with a sense of humor are the best and he is pure inspiration
GMBN needs more of this, the guys out on trails riding instead of in the studio.
Get them some sun, these boys are too pale
It’s crazy to see how top riders like Neil and Blake still have a lot to learn in the mountain bike world
It just shows how many different mtb disciplines there are
Great video🤘

I wish I could like this comment more times than one. I love this type of stuff.
Martyn really reminded me of Patches O'Houlihan in dodgeball:
the 5 b's of trials:
balance
bounce
brake
boost
and balance
If you can dodge a stick you can dodge a tree!
Amen.
Is all of this necessary? Is it necessary for me to drink my own urine? No! But I do it anyway because it's sterile and I like the taste!
"You hop one more time & I'm gonna smash your spokes out!" 😂😂
LOL My Wednesday really needed this!! Thanks for the great video!
I love the old videos like the card game video you did and I liked your tutorial videos so this is the new video for me! Much love from South Wales!!
Hey Martyn, what tires are those on your chair? Fellow para here
Not too sure myself, however I know that Kenda make wheelchair tyres that have the same tread as the mtb ones
bro, you a para mountain biker too? nice!
I am not tho

@@casualsportshighlights I ride a 3- wheel mountain trike actually. DO a search for adaptive MTB and you'll see what I'm talking about
PEDAL BRAKE shirts!!!! That would be brilliant!

So glad there is Ep.1 on the title because I really enjoyed this and can’t wait to see more!

Martyn needs to start initiating Navy drill Sergeant mode for these videos, no holding back on the verbal abuse either!!!
hahahahaha yes man yees =)
Yeh with plenty of marching, hup and down the squeah! And no learning the piano
I would love to see him as a PSM
Yes, like when he told Blake he'd smash his spokes in if he keeps hopping 😂 savage!
Fuck yea! Get brutal, get results.
Loved it! I want to see more mtb trials, time to draw one of blake’s triangles and practice 😅
"We've drawn one of Blake's triangles on the floor..." LMAO!! HAHAHAHAHA!
The sound of blakes suspension when he kept on hopping to maintain balance is such music go my ears 😍
Yes more Martin’s Trials Academy please!!!

Martyn's teaching style reminds me of "If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball" :D
I think this is going to be a great series to watch. It shows how hard trials really is when two pro bike handlers like Neil and Blake have so much to learn.

Great video and I'm looking forward to the rest of the series. The Blake's triangle bit made me crack up!
Best GMBN video in ages.
Amazing vid!!!! Its in my top 5 from all the vids you ever made.

....and Martyn strikes another ace! First Random Tandem, now this. Very helpfull thx!
Fantastic lesson! Thank you Martyn!
Man, i grew up idolizing Martyn, Chainspotting was and still is one of my favourite bike films ever.
Keep it up! More trials tips from Martyn is priceless!
This is brilliant! Thanks, Martyn & GMBN for starting this series!
Great Trial's Academy.... more please
Great progression of mental and physical training from Martyn
I have been waiting for this, and I knew Martyn would deliver. Thanks mate, stay awesome.
Always appreciate and respect when a presenter knows when they are not ready for something.
This is amazing! First video I’ve seen in awhile that motivated me to go out and practice!!!!! Thank you Martin, Neil and Blake!!!!!
Seen this one so many times and it still cracks me up. :D
Ashton is a true legend!!
Martyn, that is a brilliant little series , keep it going man. Very funny 👍
A really fun video and shows exactly how much trials is mental ability as it is physical ability. Ya got to get it right in your head first, start small and work up to bigger things
"I can tell Neil is very nervous about the stick" 😂😂😂
This is brilliant. Just goes to show that no matter how good you are at something, there's always room for improvement.
Happy to see Martyn in this video
That's exactly what i want to learn on a mountain bike! Absolutely perfect content! Keep it up, please!
Was it "pedal brake" you were saying Martyn i didn't quite catch it ;)
Awesome stuff Martyn,Neil and Blake.
Can't wait for the next episode #GMBN
Great video - more of this type please and more detail on technique and how to break it down - have never done a pedal / brake action but am going to try tonight!
Good stuff, great to get to dig into the Ashton wisdom. And fun social dynamics as always. Actually got me excited to try this myself with my buddy!
i got exited to learn on my road bike even :)
This is very good coaching!! Tks for that! And showing that it's all about Pedal, Brake and Repeat alot! It's the only way! Ok, now I got to get on my bike! 😄
Awesome vid! Lots of respect for those trials skills :)
Really enjoyed this and will follow along practicing the skills
Absolutely love it! I'm making a comeback to mountain biking after a few years hiatus, these skills may be able to show up my buddies. Keep it up!
I LIKE THIS ACADEMY!! Keep on Going!!!
Very entertaining banter!
Great initiative, guys! An academy like vídeo, with exercises, etc, is so much better than a simple 10-basic-trial-tricks-vídeo.
Yes! More of these please!
More of this!!!
F**king perfect, i've been waiting for a series like this ever since i've gotten my trials bike from inspired.
So glad to see my progress and be able to analyse what I need to improve from this, Thanks for doing this Martyn and the boys :)
Sergeant Major Ashton!!! Great video guys. 👍 👍 👌 👌
Really liked this video. Please make more of this type!!!!
so many awesome and original content from you guys!
Martyn you are a legend!
I love this! Being in control of the bike can only help.
Blake “triangle”! 😂😂😂😂
Am loving this. Martyn shouting “no, no, no” is classic.
Great ! More of this please...
give us more and more of these trials videos with Martyn!
I first heard in my head before you said you had drawn edges around them that " To make it harder for them Im going to hit them with this stick"

Love that. Recently got into doing some MTB trials and this will help so much. Already waiting for another episode!
After recently just getting into MTB, I need more of these to keep me learning great vid!

Such a cool format!

Martyn has got some guns jeez most jacked GMBN presenter
This is amazing. Martyn's cemented himself here as trials Yoda and i don't think anyone could disagree! "this is what it feels like if i touch you with my foot" fuckin legend xD
Martyn you are a legend mate, so funny 😂😂😂
Great great video!! Got all the motivation now to go and practice my trials skills, thank you.
This is amazing! Slow skills translate to so many different things on the trail. THIS is my next skill😁👍
yeah martin you get out there!!!
Not even watched the advert video yet and I know is this is going to be good
Plumbing the depths of Martyn's wisdom could take quite a lot of episodes, indeed.
Yaaaaas Chocolate Foot FORWARD. Love the Ashton jedi master is back teaching.
MORE OF THIS!!!
Martyn I get the impression it’s like working with a group of children. Especially Blake 😂 Pedal Brake Pedal BLAKE!! You don’t need to add a hop in!!! 😂 keep up the good work fellas!!!
