Staying on somewhat of a coffee theme as well as the job it was built to do... name the scrapper ship 'Grounds For Removal' or 'Grounds For Dismissal' ? That hangar is massive! Might be a pain to set up, but it would look pretty cool with a retractable roof. The side towards the solar array continues to slope up for a bit, so the retractable roof could (in theory) retract below the surface and be out of sight til closed, provided the hangar was built deep enough to clear the top of the Sandstorm. Instead of building a catwalk all the way around the hangar, how about a swing-arm catwalk (or one half from each side) that tucks up against the side, and swings out across towards the other side? That would allow for entry & exit of the Sandstorm, and also provide a walking shortcut across the rest of the time. Another option could be a rolling catwalk (similar to an overhead crane found in factories/etc) that could be moved to one end or the other to be out of the way when needed, and rolled towards the center the rest of the time. Either one would be a beacon for Klang, but would be pretty neat if you could get one to work.
The Scrapper sure turned out good! I'm trying to think of a name that's a play on Coffee Grinder. But I have an Idea for the Hanger, what about some blue lighting? Give it a nice blue hue. It would go well with the ice too.
You're right! Some blue lighting would go very nicely there. I'll give it a try! And maybe having darker / more blue lights toward the bottom and lighter off white lights toward the top would look neat. Experimentation needed!

You could have a small bunker then have a controllable large grid turret in a silo in the ground and have the turret pop up automatically and then have the turret start a timer so if you cant get to it then it will go to automatic

You tried to use cutters to destroy the ice, but I've noticed in your videos that drills might do the job! On the PAM mining machines, it seems like the ice is getting destroyed by the drills below it, so if that works, let me know!
Idea for a project that could also work to help capture those enemy bases. An underground silo that autoconstructs guided missiles with a timed door that is flat on the ground and opens forming a v shape from where the missile exits.
Idea for hanger, some rugby park lighting (big lighting boxes that have spotlights on them). Also the bottom empty row could be conveyer tubes all the way around with the grate facing out?
Pardon my ignorance, but while watching you build your grinder ship I never saw how you actually connected the bottom two outside hydrogen tanks on each side of your ship. At first I thought you missed all of those bottom three on each side but did notice that you had connected the inside one on each side with corner conveyer's, but didn't see anyway that you had actually connected the other two bottom hydrogen tanks on each side. I mean, if you did connect them great, it just didn't appear like they had any conveyer connections to them from what I could see in the video. Your large hanger bay for the Sand Storm is very impressive even though it's not finished yet. Looking forward to how it turns out. Sorry it took me until now to realize where I've seen your content before (or more accurately, where I've seen you in SE content before) it was when you were playing SE with Kanajashi during your Escape From Mars play through. Nice series there too, I'm working on watching your side of things now that I've found them on your channel. It's been fun seeing and learning with watching this series too. I've had PAM loaded in my SE play throughs but never used it because I couldn't find the time to figure it out. After watching you set it up in this series it appears to be relatively simple enough to do so thank you very much for showing how to set it up and work it.
Large hangars like that always remind of this one design I found on the workshop a few years back that used rotors attached to some arm joints on a massive hangar door that had few merge blocks and hanagar doors so it could create and airtight hangar
Those 1 block at the bottom make command and control stations, crew lounges, repair stations, cargo stowage etc. The reverse of the Barista is the Dish Dude, cleans up the coffee cups. Not sure if it's worth it but for the tiny hanger on the main base, program auto docking for the scrapper, grinder, barista, etc by having a spot you fly to, then the auto docker takes over for bay 1, 2, 3. Maybe put up tv screens over each of the bays indicating who parks there.....
You should set up a fuel well close to the base with an H2 farm(tanks) and set up another pam to refill the base...or make a pipe to the base, since the whole moon is technically a source of fuel.😂
Max planet size. Can also be messed with, plugins. As for your mining ops, just clear that ice, blast it. 25m is the range on large grid warheads for voxel damage.
Good episode. The design for the walls and floor of the bay look really cool. And like I know you probably don't want to do it but the more I see it the more I think roof for it would be cool. Also I like the idea of side compartment landing bays, two/four on each side looks cool with maybe the back and front having crew sections or something. I do think some sort of internal passage to get around it would be cool, plus walkways on the side for monitoring and construction. Also, somewhat long term, the idea of a space station would be cool! I'm definitely all for that. Especially after the ship gets brought to the dock, repaired, made good and improved in outfitting, and then launched. Good stuff!
I have been watching this series for a little bit now... And one question that always strikes me is... Why don't you just use an event controller for the hangar doors? When you connect your rover or ship, it closes, when you disconnect them, they open back up.... Seems pretty logical to me

Is there a reason in particular regarding why you are not picking the tier 3 hand drill on the scraped base? i thoufh the first time you forgot about it, but this time you even had your cursor over it when you were checking the inventory deciding what to bring back. Or didn't you noticed it accidentally?

That's a valid concern. I left about 3 blocks of space on either side of the sandstorm so there should be enough space but it will probably be pretty tight.
Development of the tool was taken up by a new developer. I'm not sure if it's still actively developed but the newer version certainly works with the current SE version.

You should give the scrapper a turret on top but set only to target weapons. Once the enemy is declawed you can grind at your leisure!
It cleans up ur messes, so I suggest either Porter or PEARL DIVER, which are, less than common, common names for dish dogs in the restaurant industry.

Unfortunately the drills don’t destroy the ice. They collect it.
