I had a friend that was t-boned and ended up in a coma for just shy of 3 weeks. He swears that during that time he was a German soldier in WWII. He spoke German etc. Even though in reality he couldn't. He talked about his wife and his life as a soldier. He said he had been in a pill box when an American soldier tossed a grenade inside and the next thing he knew there was a bright flash and he was awake from his coma. Kind of weird but very interesting.

Something like this has happened to me actually, I lived 3 years of my life with a dog in my dreams. Every day I went through in my dream was a year, each day spanning a couple hours real time if I were to guess. I grew so attached to the dog and to the life I had always wanted in my dream that when I woke up I started crying. It happened last year and to this day when I think about it I feel like I lost the closest person to me. It felt like someone died, all the friends I had my dog everything I had ever wanted seemed so real, only to wake up with none of it. Safe to say I barely ate or slept that entire week.
While ten years with a wife and kids didn't happen to me, I still understand what it meant to live a life in your dreams. It SERIOUSLY hurts.

I know a man with a similar story, he went into a coma after a motorcycle accident and during his coma he became a soldier, he fought in wars and got shot in the leg. He become a war hero. He retired later due to his leg injuries. More civil wars happened later and the government tried to recruit him but he refused. After he has woken up from the coma, he still believes the government wants to recruit him. He Injured his leg in the motorcycle accident and thats what he uses as proof that he was indeed a soldier and fought in war. Its the weirdest situation I have ever seen. He lives in our town.

    This sometimes happens to me,
Not the getting assaulted by a football player and waking up in a hospital but my vivid dreams at night feel real.
I’ve lived through lives in my vivid dreams where I’d meet a girl and fall in love and live happily with her just for it all to be ripped away from me when I wake up alone.
It’s pretty painful and if the story is real then I feel for the dude. He lived a happy life with his wife and kids for 10 years only for it to be false. Heartbreaking.

While minutes passed for the rest of the crew, the probe made Picard experienced 40 years of lifetime as Kamin, a humanoid scientist whose planet was threatened and destroyed by the nova of its sun. This kind of insane time dilation makes me question the ethical nature of cryogenic freezing and the post-mortem"resurrection" they hope for. When we're about to die, this is just... What the brain does. Whether or not the story is true something like this genuinely happens to people, and near the end of our lives, near-death experience survivors strongly imply that our "afterlife" is exactly what we expect it to be, good or ill.
So... to bring someone back from oblivion is actually like forcibly ripping them out of their personal paradise (or I guess if they died with a guilty conscience, maybe a personal hell) and I seriously don't know how to feel about that idea. If I was living in my utopia and couldn't tell it wasn't real and I was for all intents and purposes dead so my influence had ended-- I certainly would resent being ripped out of it back into this awful world...

I heard about things like this happening and it sends chills down my spine.
Something that freaked me out was the fact that ever since I heard of these stories, I've gotten more control over my dreams. It gradually happened, like some sort of mental training. I started by just controlling simple things, like making myself able to fight against the monsters in certain nightmares.
Now, I have complete control over my dreams. If I don't like the dream that I'm in, I can just change it into a different dream. If I find a monster in a dream, the latest one being a Wendigo, I can just kill it with just a thought.
It feels weird when I wake up, because in my dreams, I have full control, like some sort of God. However, in reality, I'm just a human.

Honestly, I don’t believe this to be a true story. I’m pretty sure that this is psychologically-impossible. If he truly perceived 10 years going by day by day, he would’ve noticed a “glitch in the matrix” way before then. And, if he had only perceived the dream as being a few snapshots of what happened in those 10 years, he wouldn’t be grieving his lost wife and kids because he wouldn’t have formed an emotional connection with them. Maybe he would’ve been sad, but it would be closer to the sadness that you feel when you dream about your crush liking you back or reuniting with a childhood friend but then wake up.
Personally, I think that someone made up this story after watching Vanilla Sky. The concept in that movie is very similar to this story.

I’m shocked to see people buying into this story. It’s not possible for what is basically a dream to feel that real, sometimes dreams will have weeks go by but it’s not possible to to live day by day, create your whole own universe. Maybe it’s possible to make up your own wife and kids but after you wake up you will think about it and instantly know it wasn’t real. You can’t live a day to day life in your sleep, it isn’t possible, it’s not even debatable.

This hits me because I have such a weird continuing dream where I'm in a different (but realistic) world or location where I encounter the same people and friends every time I happen to dream from there. Nothing ridiculous happens - it's all normal and I experience multiple days or weeks and eventually end up in a false awakening and sleep paralysis loop until I wake up in reality, being confused and completely frightened by the fact that just a few hours passed when I actually experienced multiple days. I can only recall one person and their name from there, but when I dreaming I remember my real life only as a dream as well, so... Since I have some neurological issue that's going to be researched more once fucking health system finally manages to even start analyzing more and treating me, it might just turns out as a common mental illness. Basically, according to measurement of my brain waves, I'm never really fully awake, which explains my diagnosed dissociation syndrome. It just sounds crazy to think about it when my mind is clear once in a while lol.

A similar happened to me 2 years ago. When I was in 10th grade. My day was unusually quiet, I just went to bed, however that won't be the end of it. I felt like I was in a developed nation, I didn't remember which one. I had grown up and I had a girlfriend who was actually a friend I'd know for many years. I looked at the mirror and saw a more handsome version of myself. Everything was going well, I was in a park walking with my girlfriend, she was just sweet and warm, and every time I hugged her I felt a lovingly warm feeling in my chest. We were just laughing and chatting and talking about getting married next month. I was already engaged. It felt like the best time of my life and honestly I enjoyed every moment of it. But then suddenly something happened. I moved my head up to look at a bird in the sky when I looked at the sun. I was blinded for a moment, when I finally opened my eyes, I was in my room, and the sunlight was shining through an opening in the curtain of my window. I woke up, and felt like my whole world just turned upside down. I looked at the mirror and saw a boy I couldn't even recognise for 5 minutes.
What I went through was just too perfect to be a dream. But what even strange was that the warm feeling in my chest that I felt after hugging her had not disappeared until a couple of minutes after I woke up.
I really can't remember her face, but when I nap, I glimpse it sometimes. Perhaps, that was just my mind creating an illusion of what I truly needed in life.

Imagine, you suddenly came across this video and realised that you don't remember what happened before you met the love of your life then you wake up, surrounded by so many strangers asking if you are okay or not. How can you be okay when you just woke up from the perfect life you've ever wanted. This is the worst thing that could ever have in our lives.

This is sooo tragic!!! I had a dream once that spanned 10 years of my life, but in a zombie apocalypse where I had worked my way up to a high tactical advisory position, beside the 'king' of the new world order, and we were in the midst of preparing for a Helms Deep- type battle against some zombies when I woke up!! Crazy, bit I really felt like I'd survived/ experienced all of those years in one night!!

If job, wife, kids etc were imagination…how did it not affect his interpersonal relationships outside his imaginary life. There must be some friend who wanted to meet his family or visit his place. How did he earn his living? Who took him to the hospital?
    I have so many doubts
P.S. I did watch a movie in my childhood with similar backstory

@@artmocha9901 Dreams are strange. Sometimes its so real we don't even realize something's wrong or that time is passing by slowly. It could be that he didn't imagine ever single thing, but he knew that he did it or that it would have happened. It didn't have to happen the way it did in real life. It just had to be vivid and real enough for him to believe in it, if that makes sense. Though I do doubt if this is real.

Once I dreamed I crashed my car... A mechanic came to my house later and said he fixed it. He then handed me a guitar instead.
I've never facepalmed so hard in my life, and the guy was just standing there confused while I laughed uncontrollably... I decided not to mention I was dreaming because once you do things start to make more sense and it's boring lmao

I had an accident, and I passed out for couple mins. To me,it felt like so many years had passed, but it was just couple mins. And when I woke up I was walking on the road despite my big wound which could even see my bone on my leg....I didn't notice the pain until I saw it.😢so sad for this guy.
