Even cheap tools have their place. I've been eyeing the harbor freight warrior for use as a powered screw driver, like machine threads and maybe smaller drilling jobs. Most cordless screwdrivers don't have variable speed so a cheap drill like these are a great option.
I like how you’re just a guy in front of your garage door with a tiny table doing tool videos. No fancy sponsorship or stacks or once only used tools. You leave in the goofs and looks like you’re having fun. Good on you.
My first cordless drill/driver was a 12V B&D with a NiCd battery, brushed motor, no LED, single speed, as basic as it could get. It went through lots of DIY stuff and never let me down during my 6yr ownership. Battery life was crap, that's for sure, though. I'm now a Bosch guy and appreciate the extra torque, speed selection, high capacity Li-Ion batteries, brushless motors, etc. But like me, there will always be people whose first cordless tool was something as basic as these, and will always have a place in our memory's toolbox
Both links for Tacklife drills are no longer on Amazon. The B&D is about $10 more than the Warrior. I don’t think the B&D performed that much better. Thank you for posting this video. I am looking for a light-duty drill for household stuff, your video was very helpful.
Unfortunately, since I published this, Tacklife was kicked off of Amazon for violating their policy on soliciting reviews. You may be able to find them on Walmart's site as a marketplace seller though. I would check out Direct Tools Factory Outlet, they are the manufacturer outlet for Ryobi and Ridgid. Lots of very affordable Ryobi stuff that would be good for light duty household work, and a battery platform that has tons of tools if you want to expand in the future. Thanks for watching!
Considering the price difference between the black & decker and the warrior, the warrior did super well. It’s only $19 at harbor freight compared to almost double.
Just for fun, it would be entertaining to throw in a high end 12V such as a M12 drill, or DeWalt's new Extreme 12V, or Makita's 12V line to show the difference.

Surprised by how well b&d did and how bad warrior did. I was looking into the warrior 12v. Mostly to have a 12v set I could take apart and power other things. But now I’ll take a look at b&d. Great video!!
I like the idea of comparing lower priced tools. Seems to be neglected area- everyone wants to review the latest/greatest. Would be nice to throw in the next tier up in comparison (e.g. compare to a 12V model in the $40-80 range, to see where the sweet spot might be)

Skil's 12V line is also cheap, light and high value for the money w/o the bulkiness of Ryobi's stuff. I got my dad a 12V drill/driver + impact driver kit with a 2Ah battery and charger for $79 last December. He loves it and appreciates the weight savings over its previous 20V drill/driver now that he's retired
If your have a Lidl nearby, please test out the various Parkside 20V tools when they come on sale. Picked up a drill for $20 last year, seen their "Professional" brushless drill for $60 and I think their impact drill went for $40 recently.
I do have a Lidl near me and I did see some power tools in the random crap aisle once! But that was well before I started the channel and I had completely forgotten. I will keep an eye out at Lidl! @orijimi is Einhell something that Lidl sells internationally? Because I think I've seen Einhell on Amazon.
@@PhillyFixed my Sam's Club doesn't sell any Keter tables. I checked before buying the last Hart table at my local Walmart. Is the Meter brand a regional thing?
I’d say step it up to the skil 12v for 70, but often on sale for 55. They have a larger tool line up that they are committed to and expanding unlike b&d, and I’m not confident tacklife will have more compatible tools, and let’s not even talk about warrior
@@PhillyFixed At my Lowe'ses they've at least had the sense to start stocking the one-handed reciprocating saw and the circular saw in addition to the standard drill and impact. The way they had it, I bet most customers thought it was a dead end platform. Big box stores need to start showing what other stuff is available even if it's not on the shelves if they want to keep themselves in the same stadium as Amazon.
You could slap a voltmeter on the battery nodes to measure the volts and maybe the amps if the meter doesnt have an amp clamp but instead the handheld prongs. Do the volt test on the batteries before you use the tool and then afterwards for the volt loss conparison. There should be a limited voltage lithium ion batteries can't go under so multiplying that by the number of cells in the battery pack gives you the theoretical lowest battery state on an unusable lithium ion battery. The lead acid batteries like in the °Drillmaster° though may not have that end point and so they can literally go flat if pushed to the max.
I doubt they make one. If you're looking for a decent budget option, I'd check out Bauer at Harbor Freight, or Ryobi at Home Depot (some great sales right now).

The red drill that failed before it drove a single screw in the beginning was Avid Power. It became unavailable on Amazon shortly after I ordered it!
