    Once in a while you come across something that will be with you the rest of your life. Michael - thank you. This was spot-on beautiful, and you handled Clarence's part wonderfully, and at the end I was able to pick it up and sing along to your music at the end... I even got in the Jungleland howls. Tonight was my first time hearing this, and I'm willing to bet in the next 5 years I'll have listened to it a thousand times. I'll loop it and play it while I work on the computer. It's the perfect companion song where you can enjoy it over and over and over. Please - don't get me anything for my birthday, this song will be enough. Thank You.

We're very sorry for your loss and happy to know that Mike's performance helped your family. Mike once heard an interview where Bruce talked about how he writes music to help people get through difficult times. I ve seen Springsteen and his band alive and i can say to you that the main pianist is the top of piano players
    So this leads me to say that the songs he produces on the keyboard are super hard and requires a lot of technique and time.
    to play Springsteen songs you need really to have patience to do so.
    I consider jungleland and point blank hardest to play than chopin and bethoveen . Very few people play chopin so you can see how good you are.
    Hardest than this just dire straits tunel of love or sultans of swing .
    So as a piano player i can only say that you are very good and you practicse a lot . Not everybody has patience to play a 9.30 minute song.
    So congratulations you made my day and keep the rythm

      Hi Joseph, thank you so much for your comment. Don't give up! If you haven't already, I'd like to suggest that you find a copy of Hanon's piano exercises. They're quite boring, but they will give you the strength and dexterity to tackle this. Good luck!

    • @josephsliker2134
      @josephsliker2134 4 года назад

      Thank you for the suggestion. I will look into it. Although I had not attempted (seriously) to learn to play an instrument until my retirement I've (finally) found a very good teacher who is tolerant of my impatience with "mere" exercises (I do some) and helps me break favorite, short pieces that I love into manageable, parts. I'm getting close to being able to recognizably play some short Tom Waits pieces, but I there are many Springsteen pieces that I'd love to do to (I think Roy Bittan's piano that underlies many of these may be a big part of it). Roy Bittan's "Rider's in the Night" is also way up there.

    • @michaelarrom94
      @michaelarrom94  4 года назад

      @@josephsliker2134 Kudos for getting started now! So let me tell you a bit about my story...when I was 12, I was determined to play the Grieg Concerto. I had an accommodating teacher who didn't make me do the exercises that I hated so much. I made progress though sheer willpower, but couldn't quite get it right. I changed piano teachers and my new teacher busted me back down to the beginning and made me do all the exercises. I came back to the Grieg a year later and it was a completely different experience. Having that foundation is so important and is a very worthwhile investment. That foundation helped me play Jungleland with a lot less effort than you might guess. I'm now on the popular music faculty at USC Thornton and I still keep my very tattered copy of Hanon with me. Matter of fact, I've been recovering from a mild injury and just pulled out the Hanon this morning to help with my recovery. It's good stuff :)

    Michael, brilliant arrangement and performance. I love the shades of gospel you have added in there as well. I have been playing piano for most of my life and have always wanted to learn Jungleland and Thunder Road, when I saw your 2 videos a year back you inspired me to learn the songs and now I nearly have them nailed, not to your performance level, but pretty good for me :-) My Yamaha C5 is so happy it gets played nearly every day again. Thankyou.

    • @michaelarrom94
      @michaelarrom94  8 месяцев назад

      Hey Craig! Thanks so much for your comment. I'm honored to help inspire you to play :) Be proud of your result, music never needs to be perfect! Yes, Bruce is a gospel preacher of sorts and that definitely comes across in his music. The C5 is a great piano and really shines on 70's rock music. The "I Can't Make You Love Me" cover on my page was recorded on a historic C3 at Shorefire Studios in Long Branch, NJ. It's the piano that Roy Bittan used on Meat Loaf's, "Bat Out of Hell" album. I wish you many happy sessions at your piano!

    What an amazing why to listen to this song. I never heard it done like this before. I enjoyed it very much. You are a fantastic piano player Great job. Am a 64 year old man I grew up in north Philly in the 60s 70s. A teenager living in Philadelphia pa. I was lucky to have lived in a city and being a teenager at that time and place. I saw all the big rock bands. So I have listened to Bruce Springsteen my whole life saw him 4 times. Saw THE WHO 5 TIME'S. Sir this piano playing you did truly is fantastic. Great job.
