    I just looked at the site. The images on the web site are high res, but the downloads are NOT. They are very low res. Just some info for others looking for images to print or work with in photoshop.

    Thank you for doing this. Do you know where I can find information on how to make printables? I'm thinking it's about using photoshop and putting this together This is a really helpful video. Thank you.

    • @craftystax
      @craftystax  6 месяцев назад

      Yes that is a great question. The easiest way (at least for me) to make and sell printables is to just sell the actual Photoshop file. That way, the customer can download it and then edit as needed. You could also sell an editable PDF file. Those are more complicated to make, but possible (you typically need Adobe Acrobat Pro for example). Another way that is easy is to just sell the design on Etsy but mention that you can customize it. So the customer sends you their text and then you just update the design and sell them the finished copy. It's more work but customized stuff on Etsy sells quite well. I hope that helps!

    Hello, I downloaded a few as they are so amazing, but when I opened in Photoshop their resolution is very poor. Any suggestions. The image size seems to be saved as a 72 dpi, with a 4.6" x 7.2" - which - unless I'm missing something - I am unable to enlarge to a normal poster size without loosing alot of clarity. Any help gratefully appreciated.

    • @craftystax
      @craftystax  2 года назад +3

      Yes that is a great point - you can view them in high resolution, but you can only download a lot of the images in low resolution. One option is if you find an image you like (and it is public domain), you can can Wikimedia to see if that image is there. Sometimes there is a higher scan. Another option would be to put the image on your screen and then print the website to pdf (you would get the whole page, but you can edit out the border of the page and you would be left with just the image.

      Hi, I checked the code, if you open the 'web developer tools' then near the bottom of the code is similar to below. At the end the number '600' replace that with like '7443' and the full size loaded for me (after doing some digging in the code):

    I was looking around on public domain sites which was a bit disappointing because the files of most photos or coloured illustrations are quite small. So there’s my question: how big must the file be minimum for a T-shirt print? (MB and Pixels ) For a Photo? For a coloured illustration? Your answer would help me so much! 😊🙏🏻😍

    hi, thanks for the helpful content.
    I have a question about the designs we buy from sites like creative fabrica, if more than one person buys same design and use it as it is on Redbubble how the site doesn't consider it a copyright issue specially if one of those designers who used same designs is activating the copyright signs on his designs on redbubble?

    • @craftystax
      @craftystax  3 года назад +2

      That's a great question. The 1st person to upload it to Rebbubble could submit a complaint, and it's possible that RB would take down your design. So I highly recommend that if you grab a design from Creative Fabrica, you do "something" to it to make it your own (add a background, make it a circle, change the color, etc). That way it's your unique design based on a commercially available stock image from Creative Fabrica. - Zen

      If you change something even a little, is it considered a different design or are there any rules to what extent, percentage, or which characteristics you should change to make sure that it is different, and you don't infringe copyright?

    When magnifying, the image is super high res. When downloading, there is a small , poor quality image . It would be great to acquire the large one, but it seems protected , as when I save it, it comes in as a blank image ...any ideas anyone?

    • @craftystax
      @craftystax  Год назад +2

      I use two techniques - either I import the image into Photoshop and resize it, or I take a screen shot (like using Snipping Tool or SnagIt) and then crop it.

    • @g0runse0
      @g0runse0 Год назад

      @@craftystax Oh, thanks for replying Douglas, yes, resizing in Ps, ( just realised that by turning into a smart object, less loss in quality) ... was thinking about screenshotting, but thought it may also produce low quality image . I also use "Blow Up 3". I´m not sure how effetive it is, seems to make the image less pixelated and more "painted" ...

    Then, why would the museum want us to contact if it in the public domain like the famous cat poster? ‘’Is it because they owned it cuz they have it in their museum?’’

    • @craftystax
      @craftystax  Год назад

      It's a good question and to be honest I don't really know. They could make the claim that their scan of the image is worth something and thus try to get you to donate to the museum for example. Legally, they can't really make the claim but maybe morally they think they do?

    The thing I don’t understand is why bother going to the trouble of having a reputable source to back up your right to use that art when RedBubble anyway take your Kirk down and there is nobody to complain ( the most you get is robot-like answers that are not even addressing your point)

    • @craftystax
      @craftystax  3 года назад +1

      Yes - the problem in this case is Redbubble (not the art) - if you have a strong desire to sell these public domain prints, I would recommend having your own POD site (like link with Printtful or ThisNew) and then no one can ever ban your designs. - Zen
