Interesting that only one of the many headboards shown features vertical rails- that of the paddle-headboard, all the other designs do not allow one to physically hold onto the bed/bedframe. I am sorry that the old metal bed frame style is being left behind. The ends could be decorated, you could attach reading or fairy-light, hang a hat, you could stretch and do the other things, and as Joseph Pilates showed us, there are a lot of good things you can do with an old bed.
Interesting, I hadn't even noticed that! I'm sure there are some other designs that have vertical rails, but it's possible that I didn't select those to highlight in the video.
