really cool design that replenishes the seeds through the gravity feed
    PS
after 30 years of drinking I also consider Gin to be just a bottle of wine.
    PS2
I quit drinking 3 years ago, and never going back. I had enough of "wine" already

If you want some variety in the birds that can feed, it might be an idea to have a dowel or similar coming out of the front as a perch.

    Fantastic work, Matt! Beautiful! 😃
I just showed your video for my father and now he wants me to make not one, but a few, so he can put around the house in the farm! 😂
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

Nice well thought out build. Worth considering that the birds drop a lot of seed and husks onto the ground and we found that these attracted rats, which began tunneling under the shed! To solve this I fitted a catch all tray under each feeder to catch the waste seed and this solved the vermin problem.

Nice video, loving the use of the wine bottle and I can see you’d have worked hard to get that ready for use 🤣. The lost sound gave me an idea for a RUclips woodworking channel completely through mime and presented by a clown 🤡, anyone up for it 🤣?!

pallet wood does come in handy, but it does vary a lot, when I see a good one I always try to snap it up if its not wanted.

Seems like the sort of thing you could knock out a batch of. Probably get 15 quid a piece. Might be a good way to get rid of all my scraps.

So problem is when rain water wets the seeds they will swell and clog up
Should be mounted where seed will not get wet

  • @mpdnuk

    Great idea using the bottle!
Is the bottom tray likely to fill up with water? We've had numerous bird feeders that eventually end up going mouldy in the bottom where water mixes with the seeds and they rot down.

Hi Matt. You mention that the mounting brackets you use are “keyhole plates” but when I search for that term I can’t find anything similar. Is there another name for them? I also tried searching for “mounting brackets” but just seem to get results for mounting TVs to the wall. Any help locating them appreciated.
