Nice job, looks very attractive
That's a clever design
Great video Matt.
really cool design that replenishes the seeds through the gravity feed
PS
after 30 years of drinking I also consider Gin to be just a bottle of wine.
PS2
I quit drinking 3 years ago, and never going back. I had enough of "wine" already
Nice idea
I'd not come across the gravity feed idea, thanks. Liked the bit where you lost the sound, made me smile.
Sympa cette petite réalisation bravo à bientôt salut Jeannot 🛠😉
A pretty ingenious lil design there. VERY NICE!! :)
Thank you very much
If you want some variety in the birds that can feed, it might be an idea to have a dowel or similar coming out of the front as a perch.
and the fun part is to "prepare" the bottle
Yes that’s the easy bit
Fantastic work, Matt! Beautiful! 😃
I just showed your video for my father and now he wants me to make not one, but a few, so he can put around the house in the farm! 😂
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
You will have some happy birds on the farm
Nice well thought out build. Worth considering that the birds drop a lot of seed and husks onto the ground and we found that these attracted rats, which began tunneling under the shed! To solve this I fitted a catch all tray under each feeder to catch the waste seed and this solved the vermin problem.
I really like the colour in the sunlight, and good job preparing that first bottle ;-)
Thank you very much
Cracking little build Matt.
Thank you Dean
Interesting little project Matt, the feeder looks nice fixed to your shed. Lucky birds.
Thank you
Great idea, I'm sure the birds will flock to it, and hopefully they leave the bug motel along👍🏽
Thank you. I hope so
Love the idea. Much better than the ones you buy from shops. I think I'll make one for our garden. Cheers!
Thank you very much.
Great idea Matt!
Thank you Robin
Simply elegant.
Thank you
I like it, I will have to give this a go. Great video Matt.
Thank you
What a great idea. I have trouble with squirrels eating my birdseed. This should stop the blighters.
Thank you
Nice video, loving the use of the wine bottle and I can see you’d have worked hard to get that ready for use 🤣. The lost sound gave me an idea for a RUclips woodworking channel completely through mime and presented by a clown 🤡, anyone up for it 🤣?!
Haha I think you can start that one
super cute love it
Thank you
Nice job ! I like it !
Thank you
Good job 👍 I might have to borrow the bottle feeder idea as laying seed out on my current bird houses isn’t really working
Thank you. It’s definitely not my idea originally
I have a good supply of timber but need to pop out to buy a few bottles of wine ......... just in case I drop one or two!!!!!
Have you made a bat box? I think it’d be a great project to add to the garden nature stuff.
pallet wood does come in handy, but it does vary a lot, when I see a good one I always try to snap it up if its not wanted.
Yes I love free materials
Seems like the sort of thing you could knock out a batch of. Probably get 15 quid a piece. Might be a good way to get rid of all my scraps.
Yes and make good gifts
Hi Matt, can I ask u a question about track saws, from your video u have the erbauer and also the festool. I have the erbauer myself and want to ask u if the erbauer saw fits on the festool rail? As I want to by the longer 1400mm length rail. Cheers matt great video as always , and keep them coming 👍 👏 Allan.
Great video matt and I hope that you find the sound you lost ,have you put up posters with a reward to any one that finds it ;p
I’m sure it will come back when it’s hungry
How do you stop the bottle from tipping forward?
"Appease the birds" - great slogan! Are the buggers using it?
A few have
So problem is when rain water wets the seeds they will swell and clog up
Should be mounted where seed will not get wet
Great idea using the bottle!
Is the bottom tray likely to fill up with water? We've had numerous bird feeders that eventually end up going mouldy in the bottom where water mixes with the seeds and they rot down.
Hopefully the roof will keep it dry
I was thinking exactly the same, a mesh floor would sort out this problem.
@@samwinsley9529 wouldnt the seeds fall through the mesh floor? And then you have a rat issue as bird feeders are a huge problem for attracting rats
@@azza1793 very fine mesh!! 😜
Just checked the storage shed to see what raw materials i have to make this project....I'm a bit short on wood, but the good news is that I have lots of bottles....I think I may have a bit of a problem!
You are half way there already
What type of wine do you recommend ?
Best to try a few
Hi Matt. You mention that the mounting brackets you use are “keyhole plates” but when I search for that term I can’t find anything similar. Is there another name for them? I also tried searching for “mounting brackets” but just seem to get results for mounting TVs to the wall. Any help locating them appreciated.
Try brass mirror plate
@@Badgerworkshop Lovely, thank you, off to ScrewFix I go.
'I won't have to fill it up too often' Ha, mine lasts 36hrs at most before it's all gone, the greedy.......
Wow they were hungry
Perhaps the birds would be more happy with the wine instead! Just kidding.
That’s all for me
I guess if the birds are flying odd, there was some gin left in the bottle.
I never leave any gin in the bottle
I imagine inviting bugs AND birds into your back yard/garden is probably good for the local environment
Yes I hope so
