Finally got one! The bolt action feels pretty stiff though, possibly the spring I suppose. I'm thinking to just copy your mods.. I have a ML super macaron lying around, would that be compatible with a ML crazy jet barrel? Barrel changes are new to me. I'm also curious why the M130 spring doesn't push the fps way up, I've got a M110 which pushes an AEG right up to my local sites limit.
@@EnglishKiwi I noticed the issue on your first video. As soon as I got myne, I figured why it happend to you so easily. So, after dissassembly, that was the first modification I did.
just back from my local field,, I tend to use my SMLE more than the SLR,, the game play is great my SMLE IS 300 PSI out of the box so at the moment im leaving as is ,,it shoots great through that bush that keeps shooting at me ,, they cant believe it goes through the bush and hits them ,, ,,so after I've used it a few weeks ill upgrade it to DMR use ,, I'm hitting 80/100 yards on the track n fire mode ,.thanks for the vid ,,
Just found your channel, been enjoying your videos! Was just wondering if you had any idea if you knew of any places to get gear for smaller guys? I'm 5'5 130lbs and everything I buy always seems oversized/super baggy on me. You can probably guess from me asking here I'm getting desperate lol
Upon discovering there's at least 3 different makers of this-with the S&T, G&G and ARES-I'm going to need several days of research on these to know which to get 😅
@@Solidsnake0208 if you use a cleanning rod with a power rotary tool and if you go slow and steddy you'll get good results. But that's for stock barrels. In the video he said, that he's using a aftermarket/upgraded inner barrel - Maple leaf Crazy jet
Not sure if I missed it in the video but what scope mount did you have on the smle and where did you get it from? I've been looking for one for weeks since I got my smle and can't find a suitable one anywhere
Hey, don't know if you've fixed this issue yet. unscrewing the small piece that sits around the hole the cocking piece slides in and out of will allow you to access the hex screw that tightens the rear section of the bolt. Unfortunately this screw is a tad too long so even if you tighten it all the way it leaves the bolt still a little loose. get a sliightly shorter version of the same screw (or file it down) and it should then tighten nicely (remember to Loctite it so it doesn't come undone). I'd also recommend replacing the spring behind the small ball bearing in the bolt with a stronger one for a more prominent click into position :) hope this helps!
The smle in my eyes is just a vintage assault rifle and as such I want to be able to use it up close an personal clearing through trenches and buildings, so I wanted to keep it sub 350 so I don't have a minimum engagement distance.
Yes it's a bolt action, but it's also a rifle. I want to keep it a sub 350 so I can use it as the actual smle was intended, as a service rifle to be used by at a variety of engagement ranges, from long ranges between trenches all the way down to close fighting within a trench. Could I be more effective with a modern self loading rifle design? Sure. But I enjoy a challenge!
Whats the point of having this?As nice as it looks, its a super low powered underperforming sniper rifle.Either its capable of being reliably upgrade to UK sites bolt action power levels or its a useless wallhanger. If it was upgradeable to and mechanically reliable at the relevant power limit I'd consider it for now Hell no thanks
There are definitely reasons for having it, like doing impression loadouts or just challenging yourself with a different style of play where you have to make your shots count as opposed to dumping a tonne of ammo in the opposition's direction. The rifle is more than capable of being upgraded to sniper limits and several other people have done that, but that's not what I wanted to do with my rifle as I want to have in under 350 so I can get in the trenches at my local site with it!
65m effective range is super low power? Underperforming? I think people almost invariably have an exaggerated idea of the range they achieve. 65m is very respectable. EDIT: I should really use my actual airsoft channel to post comments 😂
Means you can run it without an MED at most UK sites. This then provides an interesting challenge for more experienced players whilst also having a platform that can out range virtually all of the AEGs and let’s be honest most of the DMRs and stock bolt actions. It also means you don’t have to take a backup RIF. The one I have will also be staying below 350 1.14J for those reasons.
At the WW2 milsims I do we try to encourage boltactions over anything else. And because the average soldier did not have a scope and wants an authentic look they would LOVE something like this where its out of the box skirmishable at 1.1 joules (which is the power rate in the UK for being able to use it without a range limit). Or you would be like myself, who loves being stealthy over anything else, so a super accurate bolt action I can use close up is very handy
Thanks for these videos, planning on getting one of these at some point and now I know roughly what upgrades to do, cheers!

The action on the SMLE sounds really nice
Changed mine to ZCI inner barrel and PDI bucking the day it was released, absolute laser beam.
Hi, out of interest what length barrel did you use?
You really need to shorten the hop adjustment lever. Just sand it down until it's recessed under the handguard. Works like a charm
That's actually a smart Idea! I was gonna try an oring to stiffen it but this solves the route issue!

Considering S&T is the only one SMLE,the others being No4 MK1s..
@@NashmanNash
True, but No4 Mk.1 is still pretty cool... it's made to be the upgraded SMLE.
Polishing the inside of the barrel improves accuracy!
I think it really depends on how it’s done, there’s too many variables in that process to guarantee good results for everyone
@@Solidsnake0208 👍
Lapping might, but polishing in a circular motion can create inconsistencies in bore quality which will reduce accuracy

It's a prototype that I've designed and printed. Need to test it for a bit, but if it works well I'll be selling them :)
If so I shall be buying one :D
