Didn't like the way the record company were 'electronically messing up' her music, so to their surprise she bought out her 'contract', cost her nearly all the money she had at the time. So now she does what she wants when she wants, and believe you me she has quite a following, - BUT to like JOSS you need that thing which is in very short supply today - GOOD TASTE and an ear for GOOD music. She is so very underrated as a singer, all you hear is pure JOSS - no gimmicks - I just love her music. She is part of the group formed by Mick Jagger - (Super Heavy), - when needed, - and to be invited to join something like that you have to be good, as I don't think Mick would ask any 'rubbish' artist to become involved in something he was in.

I attended a show by Steve Perry during his “For the Love of Strange Medicine” tour. There was a phenomenal R&B/pop singer I’d never heard of as the opening act. I’m 98% sure, in retrospect, that it was a young Joss Stone, probably just getting introduced to the US. Perry commented on how good he thought she was and that he’d chosen her to open the shows because he wanted more people to hear her.
