You should always carry a hand saw or small chain saw when going down trails like that for the first time. I always do and if I dont ill come back and clear the tree.

This is why I bring a chainsaw (filled with vegetable oil as opposed to bar oil) instead of an auger when I ice fish the backwoods. Great vid, though.

Lol and no, I don't care about the little difference between freezing a fish on ice, slitting the gills to bleed them out, or fileting them straight away. It's all going to end in death for the fish. I usually thunk them on the head so they sit still when fileting

FYI to all- I have seen and heard of enormous fines dished out by Ontario MNR from having a campfire on a frozen lake, both LOTW and rainy due to the pollution from the ashes and charcoal when the ice goes out. I don’t necessarily agree with it but check your regs and local ordinances.
