When I got the statue I did not know who he was. I just fell in love with it. You are right, Moses is a bit of a strange image for a pagan god :) He is Michelangelo's "Horned Moses." In an early mis-translation of the Bible Moses is described coming down from the mountain with horns on his head. It should have been translated that there was a light or an aura around his head. But for some time it was thought that he had horns, and Michelangelo's statue reflects that.
MIRTHandREVERENCE I have seen the original statue in Italy; the placard there says that it was a mistranslation of the word “horns,” which should have been “rays.”
You have a very beautiful altar. :) Your doggie reminds my of my dog Plumper. She is an American pit bull terrier. She managed to get an empty ravioli can out of the trash. By the time I found her with i,t she had managed to chew holes through the can. I was absolutely amazed. I have caught her also chewing on large stones. She is a mess and I love her so. lol I love the bullie breeds. :) Much love, peace and light. :)
Ok..I was literally lol at Ernie! He is so cute, I just want to smooch him up! Thank you so much for sharing your altar with us - it is beautiful and I love knowing the what and why's behind it all!
Oh my, this was lovely to me for so many reasons. Firstly, I LOVE your meditation room, it gives me sense of peace and curiosity. I would be like Ernesto and sniff, taste, feel every inch Lol It was such a treat to see and hear your passion for each piece! Thank you for that. And Ernie just makes my heart smile!! He is so much like my dog, everything is his! What a sweet soul he is!!!
How adorable Ernie is! I have so enjoyed the tour of your alter and the meaning behind what you have on it. Thank you so much for sharing this part of you. Peace and Blessings, Beth :-)
This is my first comment to you ..I think...this video was like a gift to be slowly unwrapped admired and to be so appreciated for days to come..Thank You Dear Lady ! allove♥alotta
I'm am so grateful and overjoyed to have found your videos! I'm a itsy teeny tiny baby witch and your explanations , calmness, passion and knowledge are greatly admired and appreciated.
This was FUN. You must be a wonderful teacher. You really do personify your username, Mirth... Reverence... A beautiful combination! Who/what are you referring to as Sophia? The crystal ball??? I typically use a lighter, but I do find matches to have a magickal/special quality that a click-lighter can not replicate. The scent... the sound... the visual... the passing of the flame = all so very nice. Ernie is such a good boy! THANKS for letting him stay. I wanna hug him to pieces -xo
This is such a fun and enlightening video! It is such a powerful experience to hear the 'why' of someone's sacred space and I appreciate you sharing this! Also, Ernie is the CUTEST! ^_^ DOOOH!
I am Have had my interest piqued recently in Paganism and similar beliefs. I was raised Christian in the south so to explore other faiths was a huge no no. I have finally gotten to the point where my curiosity is over powering my apprehension, so I have been searching the internet to learn as much as possible about these faiths. I found this video to be one of the most informative and sincere I've seen so far. I have watched many where the people obviously did not know what they were talking about. I feel like Paganism is a path that I've been called to follow but I want to be sure I'm following it correctly. Thanks for sharing such a lovely and intimate part of your self.
If I could speak from my heart to yours ... you will do no wrong! Let your instinct guide you to find the things which express what you already know in a new way and the things which guide you to consider new things. You will follow your own path perfectly.
I love using matches, but currently I am using a lighter. I do not light my candles directly with it. I use a lighting stick, really handy for my glass candles. my divination candle for instance is a purple 7 day candle and is really handy in getting down in there without burning my self LOL. I am currently on the look out for long matches.
I have been buy Coventry Creation candles for years now. I love them! They burn evenly and slowly and they have the most wonderful scents. I buy them from Magical Omaha, but I think you might be able to buy them directly now.
I sure hope you share your story about the God/Goddess statues. I've always wondered about them! They are beautiful. :) Your dog is so cute! Would you be willing to elaborate on what a "presence candle" is? Is it similar to a "need-fire" candle?
@watersthunder13 I feel the passion in your videos, too. And enjoy it. I know when you share you are sharing something that matters to you. I will look forward to your videos.
@forkfullofpie The bell came with a dorjie, which I lost somewhere along the way. Although I admit when I had the dorjie I never used it for anything. A missed opportunity!
oh goodness Ernie really truly has loves all of your altar items.....he added to this video but thank you for sharing this video....I'm learning about wicca
Very beautiful. I have been studying Wicca for two years now. I have bout stuff but I have a glass leaf givin to me by an ex-girlfriend as a gift at Yule but close to Christmas and I have it on my alter and I burn my left over Sage that falls to the bottom of a bag that I buy from a shop called Jeweled Maidens
I will add this to my videos to do, Emily. I don't know if it is the same thing or not. When I hear folks speak of the magic mirror is seems to be for divination only, where the witch's mirror is primarily a portal between the worlds (which is also used for divination purposes). That might be a major difference between the two. Maybe we'll get some feedback from viewers when I do the video. Thanks for the video suggestion!
Hi Anni, so kind of you to reply, I will look forward to a video from you on this subject I do like the way you pass on your knowledge, I will be looking at others you have done along with anything else that comes up, blessings Em. (no need to reply I know your busy with a recent move of home)
one other thought i had while watching your vid, have you considered placing a dorje on your altar to go with that bell? i know its not a typical wiccan pairing, but the feminine wisdom principle embodied by that type of bell almost cries out for its masculine action principle counterpart. i've found that the energies of the two together are very complementary and balanced. -lq
@MIRTHandREVERENCE I use wood, reminds of a match so I still get that connected (for lack of a better word) feeling from simply lighting my candles. There is just something about using matches as opposed to a lighter. Clearly I dont subscribe to the whole "don't use matches because of the sulfur" idea lol.
apparently your altar is full of chew-toys! are you sure you're showing us YOUR altar, and not ernie's? using that candle holder to precess the elements is actually a brilliant idea... now i'm on the hunt for one like that. coupled with an athame, i can see that making for quite a powerful 'commanding presence' within the circle -lq
I have to use a click lighter. Every time i light a match or blow my candles out 2-4 candles , my fire alarm goes off. Same thing cooking with my stove, toaster, convection oven. Lol
@MajorArcanaTV Yes, the Lady Sophia is my crystal ball. Ernie a good boy? I hope he doesn't read that LOL He's a BAD boy to the bone. And we love him for it.
The clapper is the thing that is removed from the Bell. I love love Ernie, and thank you for this very personal video!!!!
I absolutely adore you! Thank you for your wisdom. A very real teaching.
Beautiful, instructive, full of energy...I loved it!

You altar is beautiful!!!! and so is your table! :)
@IsaoftheMoon I like lighting sticks and the thin, long tapers that are meant to help with lighting deep candles. Are your light sticks wood or wax?
beautiful

Cool. I like your altar.
Ha ha. Ernie was so cute in this video :) Thank you so much for sharing.

@MrsUnbound Vielen Dank für Ihre Kommentare.

@AmayaRaiyne If it strange, then we are strange together :) As I love looking at altar videos shared by our RUclips friends.
I think Earnie likes sparkly things.
Also, something kept moving in your black mirror. I dunno if it was you, or what. 12:24
i can see a wolf and a shell in ur black mirror. Ernie is so funny ad cute
I have to use a click lighter. Every time i light a match or blow my candles out 2-4 candles , my fire alarm goes off. Same thing cooking with my stove, toaster, convection oven. Lol
I have to damp my candle wicks immediately when I blow them out, or our smoke alarm goes off, too.
@@MIRTHandREVERENCE good idea. I'll try that & see what happens. Thanks 👍
BB..haha..Ernie is wonderful...
@MajorArcanaTV Yes, the Lady Sophia is my crystal ball. Ernie a good boy? I hope he doesn't read that LOL He's a BAD boy to the bone. And we love him for it.
