You're a legend! Best regards Ram From Norway
Thank you so much for the very kind words, my friend… This makes my day!! As for the icons, it just means you need to manually install the custom ones that are included; the PDF manual shows where they go. Thank you again for such a kind note!
@@JimDaneker My pleasure! I'm wondering how to access reverb and dreamy verb effects in Logic Pro. I'm scratching my head trying to figure it out. I've checked the channel strips from Reverb to Space D, but I can't find the Backstage folder there. Thanks!🙏
@@Music_Ram the best place to start is probably opening the included "DX Dreams for Logic Pro" session and note how the 3 buses are set up; they are exactly duplicated from the MainStage version. What you can do is save each of those three buses as dedicated channel strip presets; from then, on, you can access those in any of your own Logic sessions ;-)
@@Music_Ram same thing: save each bus as a channel strip preset. Then in your destination session, create each new bus and load the relevant channel strip preset into each.

It really is a classic! Thing is though, a single DX7 won’t get you most of these sounds - they’re all built from multiples layered together (the TX816 rack module) along with FX processing ;-)
Funny you mention that! After a lot of testing, I’ve found a solution, so it will be coming to Kontakt sooner than later! Aiming for late summer - likely September. I’m about to run a sale through August 6 that will include a free crossgrade voucher 😁

I like Unify a lot, but it’s not for everyone… still not friendly on M1 Macs. And you would still be missing out on a lot of what makes this what it is: the way it was all recorded through the iconic analog processing of the time. It sounds far better than any emulation ever could, and many of the layered sounds were made from up to (12) DX7s playing at a time.
@@xp50player good to hear about the update! Still, I’m afraid this was a once and done deal as far as capturing all these layered sounds. It took over a year to do - there’s no way I would want to try and do it all again for an end result that wouldn’t be the same. A software emulated TX816 is vastly different than the real thing through 8 Neve preamps & analog tape 😁

@@DadoSimicStudiostriver yep, I get that. I won’t be able to do much of a test of raw/unprocessed sounds though, as almost all the sounds in DX Dreams were recorded through the processing used in the 80s: analog tape, Roland Dimension D chorus, AMS reverb, etc. - only that first patch is the raw EP sound from an original DX7. Plus many of the sounds are layered from multiple DX’s, like the DX5, TX816, etc. But I could definitely do an A/B where the original sources would be indistinguishable from the recreations ;-)

That’s pretty much the case with any sample library these days. Some patches might run fine on a conventional spinning drive, but that’s no way to live 😁 Samsung and Crucial are great SSDs…
Yes it does, but it goes way beyond that! Many patches were sampled from a TX816 in the first place, which occupies just one “slot” in the rack… so technically you could have essentially EIGHT TX816s playing at once - which is the equivalent of 64 DX7’s!
