Which hotel would you recommend for 2 adults and 2 children at Vana Belle vs. W Koh Samui? Also I was wondering which one has more beautiful beach. Does the hotel offer Elephant Sanctuary activity?

Both properties have an amazing beach with water activities like paddle boarding/ kayaking. The rooms at the W many are just a wall so if you want a possibly better view do Vana Belle. But W did have better service and breakfast. Overall though the Hyatt Regency seemed more family friendly as they had a lot of activities just for kids like movies, games… The hotels don’t have their own elephant activities but they recommended to us the Samui Elephant Sanctuary which we loved.

Love the review! One of these days I’ll make it to Thailand and hopefully Koh Samui. In terms of the arrival experience, I’ve had similar experiences at other Luxury Collection hotels. Not sure why that’s the case but, it’s pretty frustrating and not a good first impression.
