In this video I break out the greatest Sludge of the 90's and review my favorite albums of the slow and fat variety. Sludge Metal really had its heyday in the 90's with the likes of Eyehategod, Crowbar, Acid Bath, Harvey Milk, Melvins and numerous others releasing their groundbreaking records. This scene was particularly strong in the southern United States, where the heat and humidity made for the perfect slow, crawling anguished sound.

Crowbar is probably my fav sludge band just now getting into Down. Self Inflicted is another great band for Crowbar fans. Conan is a anther pretty great one as well as Beastwars. Also for Acid Bath fans check out Shrüm one of the members of Acid Bath (Audie) formed Shrüm I believe. Sadly they only have one album because Audie died in a car crash.
