There are two versions one called "Race" and the other "Street". They have different rod construction (check CAE website). Race is obviously intended for a stripped-down race car, street will allow you to keep your plastic, just need to remove the shift boot. I had street version. In terms of functionality, both versions work the same.
@@olegmakarenko8859 thanks for the response. i read about the race and street difference but i just had to make sure. is the car 5 or 6 speed? CAE includes an adapter for 5 speed but the reverse lockout function will be removed if the adapter is used, does that mean i cruise at 100 kmh in 5th gear and put it in reverse accidentaly?
@xav1uz I have 6 speed. You better check with CAE but I'm pretty sure it will allow you to put the car in reverse without shifter lockout function because by design, CAE eliminates factory lockout and you only have your lockout on the shifter. Synchros however will not allow you to physically put in reverse gear while cruising 100 kph, you will only hear nasty noises coming from your gearbox. I had such funny experience before with my bad stock 6-speed shifter where lockout didn't return to its original position which gave me nice opportunity to switch from 5 to reverse while driving about 100 kph and the only bad thing happened is the noise. So if you have 5 speed, just don't forget you have 1 less gear and you're good lol
Definitely going to buy this. It looks incredible and I bet it feels amazing. Can't believe no one else has said this yet but thanks for the demonstration.
No problem. I will try to make some new videos of the shifter, how it works and the issues I had so you can decide whether it’s worth spending 1.2-1.5K.
did you have to cut any plastic off the center console? or is just plug and play? :-)
