These short videos have been such a blessing!
Glad to hear it! That's why we do it :)
If there’s something you think that’s wrong with your child it’s on you as the parent. You raised them and it was your job to do a good job.
I’m a new mom, so I can’t discipline my baby yet😆 but your videos are so helpful and I’m saving for when i know I’ll need them in years to come!
Me too!😄
Man! I am really looking forward to this book! My parents raised me by getting advice from people who had high numbers of 2nd and 3rd gen kids in church. These vids reiterate the advice that they consistently received. I assumed that this model of parenting was normative for Christianity, I have since learned this is not so. This book is very needed in our evangelical churches!
Thanks Sidney!
Wait one moment! Where is the part we’re I count to five very slowly and allow the kid a few more seconds of rebellion? Honestly, you’re leaving some important things out.
🤣🤣🤣
Happy New Year to everyone who watches this video and wish you good luck and patience in the new year!
Sometimes it is indeed parental failures, but sometimes it's also the sinful willfulness of the child.
It's always helpful to think through if we're being faithful as parents, what we could change. Yet there are times where we are being faithful to what God has called us to (usually confirmed by our church community), and we're not getting the desired fruit of obedience. We eagerly desire, and pray for, obedience in our children, but sometimes God does not ordain that. Wonderful children can come from terrible parents, and vice versa.
Parenting is not a formula.
Amen -- definitely not a formula. However, God's promises about children seem to be pretty clear as well -- is it helpful to tell parents what God promises about their kids? Have you read Doug's book on this topic, "Standing on the Promises"?
I haven't read Doug's book, but I'm familiar with God's promises. Which did you have in mind regarding my comment?
I think some children are definitely born with a stronger will than others.
If you are a family that doesn’t spare the rod. Do you paddle for every infraction?
Saw the guitar and was hoping for a rendition of "Barracuda"
Can you make a video especially for singel moms? My son ist 2 years old and often I hear- kids listen more when dad says something, but what do you do if there is no dad?
I want to know what Doug was about to say
I work with kids and the one kid is questioning my authority
So you're basically saying that when some church members don't respect their pastor, the pastor must repent because it's his fault?
Remember please the u tube mom that went so far overboard with this
who is she
???
Get out of here with repent… go away
Heads up your in a cult
Evangelicals have such a warped perception of parenthood .. you only get respect when you give it .. this is SICK stuff ..
