    Thank you so much! It did solve same issue with my 2004 Prius.
    I just want to add that when you are connecting wire to the 7.5 Amp fuse, be sure to connect it to the terminal towards the passenger side of the car. In other words to the output side of the fuse. This way you are still using the fuse in case there is a short or overload in the system. If you connect it to the driver side of the fuse, you would be bypassing the fuse. It would still work, but it won't be properly protected and in case of a short somewhere, might catch fire.
    And you need to splice in to the fourth wire on the top row of the connector (counting from passenger side to the driver side, while connector plugged in) color coded blue.

    My catalyc comverter got stolen on my 2009 prius.. I drove like that for less than 2 miles and got red triangle with exclamation point on it. When that happened car started to loose power and eventually died on me:( right now I have it at a muffler shop where they will put another catalyc converter on but car still does not turn on..when I press on power button all the lights come on with rd d triangle like if car it's on but engine not on. Lights, radio and power windows work . The windows are slow though so I don't know if battery it's dying. If I remember I have one purple bar. Also keep getting a message about something that car needs to be on flat surface and something about the transmission .
    A while back it completely died on my while I was changing the passenger mirror, after I was done I gave it a jump and everything was good. This time it won't move from one purple bar even after a jumped it

    When you added the additional wire, did you wedge it into the blue wire or is there a specific way connect the wire. And was your plock problem intermittent of constant. My one is only is the mornings, eventually switch the engine off and then on and the car is then as good as gold for the rest of the day.

      Shafiq Rashid All the wires there are color coded so if your wire that goes into the trans from the PCon is blue, its good to use a blue wire for easy identification. Also, all you have to do is use anything pointed tool that can just push the ends of your wires into the respective ends to fit in a way that nothing will cause it to pull out.

      Thanks man, I have changed the fuse and seems to be OK, but will add a wire should the problem arise again. Once again, many thanks and appreciate your swift reply

      Looks like they are pretty associated with each other. Try to get that park lock problem solve and see if the vsc ligt is still there. I remember having something like that after i power washed my motor but the reason was because some water went into my ignition coils. So i took them all out and clean them and afterwards never had the problem again. Let me know the results after the first steps and thanks for watching!

      @emmanuelb.882  Год назад

      Hi Joshua, as long as you are connecting a piece of blue wire to the area i demonstrated you should be fine. You are not cutting anything out. You are just adding to whatever wires you have.

    • @emmanuelb.882

      I haven't had anyone saying they had that issue on 3rd generation yet but if you are having the same problem as "P Lock mechanism" i think it should work for you.

  • @terryhudson6620
    @terryhudson6620 2 года назад +1

    That is not how the wiring works. What you are doing is bypassing the problem by jumping across the switch that determines if there is a problem or not. YOU are artificially jumping or telling the system it is OK but in reality it is not OK

    hi thx for your vdo my prius 2007 got the similar problem but it only does few times while i driving the car on D mode car goes on to the P by itself and shows the same message but it only happens on slow speed i never have any problem on motorway. do u think it is the same problem that you mention on ur vdo? also my car does not start some times in the morning all lights flash i think i have a bad 12v battery?
    i also want to know if i do same as u showing and use a wire from fuse to main then do i still need new 12v battery too? plz reply soon thx

      m ali Mughal
      Thx for watching Ali. There is no harm in trying. Once your dashboard displays the Park Lock Mechanism problem, it might be that your wires connecting from ur PCoN Main to ur tranny is getting rusty. Its not gona harm to give it a try by connecting that extra wire. Jst follow the instructions closely. Pull out the fuse from ur PCon Main and stick one end of ur wire in there and then put the fuse back in. Nxt, connect the other end to the respective place as the instructions from my vdo. Then try to start ur car. If that is the problem, its gona disappear right away and will never appear again.
      Also, if that is the problem, it's not gona have anything to do with your 12v battery so, follow all steps and wen that is done, get ur 12v battery tested. NB: Ur car is driving alright do but there is no communication wen u park ur car. So it could roll on u wen u think ur car has been parked. Technically, its not in parking mode. So, the earlier, the better!
      Once again, thx for watching and i hope it works for u jst as it has worked for many others even on this platform.

      onto the other end on the main blue wire do i need to make that blue wire naked to connect new wire connection? or there will be a place to connect new wire on?

    • @emmanuelb.882
      @emmanuelb.882  7 лет назад +2

      Ali, do NOT pull out that blue. Just push the end of the new wire in the same place u ve ur old blue wire. In this case, ur just paring 2 blue wires to fit in the same sport. But make sure ur car is not on wen ur doing that. Jst to be on the safer side bcos that hybrid ur working on has a lot of power.
