Panathinaikos fan here. Great video man. Thanks for coming. The teams is struggling the last 15 years, the owner of the club sucks but the crowd is still supporting the club. In these 15 years also, olympiakos gained much reputation playing in Europe and of course the success of conference league. It sucks when you see your biggest rival do something huge but that's life. Hope you enjoyed the game although it ended scoreless.

You should also go to the derby of the eternal rivals in the Karaiskakis Stadium. You won't regret it.
The atmosphere normally is 10 times better, but unfortunately our biggest ultras group (GATE13) has a conflict with our owner. We are 15 years without winning the domestic league, and the vast majority of PAO fans demands an owner change, so as you understand the atmosphere in the club is quite toxic.

This is why Crvena Zvezda - Partizan Belgrade derby is greatest in the world. Only derby in world that not just allowes 10% of away fans but 25% or entire 1stands. So both teams have same number of ultras support no matter home or away!

Panathinaikos never had good atmosphere. The atmosphere at Karaiskakis is 10x better. Thus why many superstart players call it the hardest atmosphere to play in(lucas moura, ibrahimovic, jamie carragher)

Why do they dont play at their own stadium?
1st reason, a new stadium is going to build for Panathinaikos and the old one is going to become a park. 2nd reason, OAKA stadium (largest in country) offers more seats thus more available tickets on lower prices. 3rd reason, European matches, Panathinaikos participates to Conference League and OAKA stadium is more acceptable.

Away fans were prohibited for a reason. It wouldn't be a derby but war.
Empty seats are quite expected. The stadium fits 70.000 fans. Their club has been in very bad condition and administration for the last 15 years. Greece is a kinda small country with a bit more than 10 million people. Panathinaikos is not even the most popular club in the country. So it's not easy to fill it. Away fans in Greece have been prohibited the last 20 years. Because every game was literally war. So unfortunately we are getting used to it. But even before the prohibition we had buffer zones to prevent fights in the stands.
