it wasn't just a call back this is the sequel to 3 AM that's why there were so many references such as waking up at macdonalds, using the same hospital and the detective/doctor constantly being aware of the time leading up to 3 AM because that's when the cycle starts over again and that's why they medicate him at that exact time.. It's strange though because this song could be classed as a sequel and a prequel because in this one Em has "escaped" the asylum but turns out he hadn't it was all in his head whilst he was still sectioned there but in 3 AM he does escape the Asylum leaving a sea of doctors bodies behind... so maybe he finally flipped in 3 AM and this is actually a prequel rather than a sequel it could be either or... but honestly like you said with that mental state using those drugs nothing is one way in his head.. it's a mashup, sequel, prequel or maybe non of it actually happened physically but mentally instead... There's so many layers in all Eminem's Music he's a story telling lyrical genius.. also those three personalities are real.. not to the extent of this music video but in his life and his mental state when he's writing a song.. so this song his personality would have been Slim Shady, the cynical, sinister Shady, his more "Typical"(not so typical because it's Em) Rap's are Eminem, so that more street talk Rap and his deeper stuff the emotional depressing shit is simple Marshal Mather's his origins.. Each split personality has grown over the years and sprouted off in completely separate directions.. separate from each other, not from the roots of them individually... Stans like myself love each of them equally but we know when Shady come's back each time there will be countless victims and no witnesses, Shady is that monster we all wait for with suspense when he's done getting all that other shit off of his chest. people say Eminem is that one rapper you don't fuck with and although that's true he can handle anyone by himself, if someone was to tip him the wrong way a bit too much over the edge they want to pray they haven't just woke Slim up. I know Eminem is one man I'm not delirious but the way he switches between the three you'd think they're actually different people especial when that monster takes the pen before the other two get the chance.. ahaha I know this is long asf but I'm more of a Metal Head too and this is me talking about a Rapper.. I have a deep love for both genres but Rock and Metal are where my roots are and this was basically a Novel on Eminem ....... don't even get me started on Tool ahaha
