The asteroid was the equivalent of jumping over a badly beaten dude and delivering a People's Elbow into his testicles.

For those unreasonably terrified of another cataclysm just remember crocodiles ,coelacanths and birds are still alive from the time of the dinosaurs. These mass extinctions almost always have some form of surviving species and it's likely humanity will survive as well. (if such an event were to occur)

@Offisian Yeah that's true for me as well but as long as I got kids to be fully grown and they make it through I'm content. 😂

A sudden(by geological standards) catastrophe at the same level as all the previous mass extinctions? Yeah no, humanity isn't surviving that. Birds barely hung on(only 2 bird groups out all of them managed to survive, the Neognatha and the Paleognatha), and the only reason crocodilians had any survivors among them was because they were ectotherms that could deal with the lack of food more easily. Humans are big, and we require way too many calories to sustain our large brains. Sophonce and craftiness are great for tackling sudden environmental or ecological changes, but even that has a limit

@@EG-hy9mv World leaders and billionaires probably have hundreds of hidden bunkers with food stocks and crops that would last decades or possibly centuries ready that could house a few hundred people through such an apocalypse. Would all of them be safe?, probably not though I bet a few of them would be.

They're not though. Ueah it's the same general groups but they're not the same species as back then.

@@EG-hy9mv yeah i agree but we would know years before hand, enough time to stock up on food and rush to bunkers, itd be a struggle for sure though

They had found evidence for the crator back in the 70s with gravitational scans by oil exploring geo-physisists, but the impact crator itself required confirmation by examining drilled up green shales, volcanic glass, and the confirmation of shock quartz and droplet rocks in places like Mexico, Hati, and even atbthe Brasos River in Texas. Geologist and paleontologist just adding a few more points to the fantastic story you were elaberating on. As for dinosaur metabolish, they varied based on body size like mammals, but bone histology, growth rates, and the fact they had 4 chambered hearts and one-way respritory systems indicate they were endothermic, but again even a mouse and an elephant have drastically different metabolic rates and both are endothermic mammals.

Kinda feel sorry for the dinosaurs. They went through an apocalypse seemingly out of nowhere. Glad we might not have to go through that, altough i worry about future generations that do assuming we exist long enough to see it.

I have nothing against the individuals that agree with the ectopic of the meteorite destroying the dinosaurs.🥸 but I have to ask when the nuclear bomb and the explosion it makes is clearly more potent than a falling rock that would only affect a certain radius of an area why would a meteorite that is more likely to end up being shrunken down by the potency of the atmosphere when something goes down into the Earth could possibly have the ability of destroying the entire population of dinosaurs in a way that is more potent than the nuclear bomb???
Most likely the dinosaurs did survive the meteor also because you're telling me the meteor hits America and yet we do not see any dinosaurs in China were they are clearly far enough away from any damage that the meter could have caused I think people really do underestimate how a shock wave from something of that size could actually bring when it hits not only that but as much as I could believe you when the meteor not only goes back into the atmosphere and then rains down that's still not really enough to say that the amount of rock from the giant space Rock would be enough to pollute the Earth's atmosphere if that were the case the nuclear bombs the clear show how that doesn't really happen I use the nuclear bombs simply because I find it to be the closest thing to how anything could cause damage on the earth on the scale of Destruction that could be brought so I have to ask are people overestimating the effects of meteor could have on the planet because I'm pretty sure there was a case of a meteorite falling from space into the Earth at least one time and it not actually doing as much damage as people assumed it did🤨
And if that's the case why do all the dinosaur bones look wet as if they all drowned and ultimately seeped into the dirt while being drowned underwater because of a giant flood?!?
Also where's the proof of the giant meteorite anywhere on the Earth because if it was in Mexico you think someone would have found some very special metal or dirt that was potent enough to have something from space if that's the case maybe that's where everyone got the nuclear energy from but until that's proven I'm realistically going to have to decline I'm believing in the meteorite Theory anymore it's just not possible at this point I rather believe Noah's flood because God can easily just melt the polar ice caps drown the entire planet then freeze the polar ice caps again and then bada bing bada boom you can only get the dinosaurs killed but that would explain why all of them looks like they were on their sides when they drowned under the waters of the great flood.
And it also makes me wonder why do people assume that the planet is millions of years old I mean where's the proof have anyone found anything that showcases the age of something to be at least a million years old because plants live and die everything lives and dies on this planet there is literally a cycle of life on the planet does how can you know how old the planet is???
