You might be surprised where you can get a signal. I've driven in the middle of NOWHERE in Kansas and was shocked to see my phone had two bars! Hell, it even connected to the Internet although at a sluggish 80k! When's the last time you saw your phone say it was using an Edge connection for the Internet... :D
They are from New York, there is no such thing as darkness or quiet in a big city. Always an ambulance going by. Or the cops. And no darkness. none. Ever.
yeah nyc is never dark, not really. Not like it would be in the woods. And because of the lights the getting 'dark' in the city feels a lot more gradual. This would have snuck up on them
camp fire gets rid of them pretty efficiently. Sure you get bit once or twice throughout the night but if you don't itch the bites they really are not that bad and go away quickly.
Ian Johnson unless you're allergic, like me. then they last for MONTHS. and it's even worse when I have the type of blood that attracts mosquitos more then anyone else I know! 😝
To everyone in the comments saying "I will never go camping" , that's not what camping is actually like. If you are smart, plan ahead, and are a low maintenance person, camping is really fun
As someone who grew up camping I’m so shocked that there are people in their adult life who’ve never gone camping, I never realized it was a thing only some people got to experience
No tent footprint? No bedroll? No pillow? No camp cooking gear? No dried food (ie: rice, couscous, pancake mix)? No forehead lantern? No bath gear? No water containers? No water filtration systems? That ain't camping, that's sleeping on the ground inside a tent.
THIS! I know so many people who hate things like camping and caving because they did it with people who are equally inexperienced. Like of course setting up a tent is hard if literally no one there has ever set up a tent before.
Laura Whynacht Yeah, never seen that here in the UK, that's weird. Although our family do super lux camping, with blow up mattresses and we take all our bedding from our beds with us. My son prefers a thin inflatable pab and the fancy sleeping bag, but I need a big tent and a super comfy bed or I'm useless the next day.
Oh my gosh wait yeah. When I watched it back I was like no he fully says 'weselves' but then it took me like two more tries and you're right. But it doesn't seem like that at all. That's so weird.
1. Try choosing a place that has dirt not gravel as a space lol. 2. place tarp under tent in case of rain and also as an extra layer against the ground. 3. grab more dry leaves, etc for the fire to build after it's lit 4. roll out mats and pillows. 5. buckets lol so many basics missing XD
Last time I went camping it was at a public beach and the people who were staying next to our tents were playing music from speakers.. I couldn’t sleep
Kane SC huh? What do you mean? I absolutely love the nature. I live in a village in Germany near the coast of the Baltic sea. Why am I spoilt and don't appreciate what i have?
I'm an outdoor adventure education student and this video had me dying laughing. I'm currently training to be a wilderness guide and have built my own shelter that I slept in in -25* C. Love when people think they're roughing it :p
Our year 8 school trip was camping in a forest. Our tent flooded and we got to sleep in the building. Rowing, climbing, archery and caving was fun though.
One of the times me and my family were camping and one night there was a bad storm and we were all awake because it was like 80 degrees in the tent and we heard a crack and next thing we knew a tree branch fell on our tent over my head that trip brought many funny stories
Also, taught them a little more about campsite etiquette. These scrubs were loud AF. If I were next to them during this video, there might've been a couple holes through the tent from a crossbow bolt.
Picnic benches? Nearby cabins? A tent? This is luxury camping. The true experience includes hiking for hours, finding a random campsite in the middle of the forest, and sleeping under the stars. I wanna see them do that.
Kelsie Coursen yeah it was always fun to go camping but now i got way to much stuff to do and not enough money ahah the joys of life ahah but i cant wait till i get the chance it was the only joy i had
We have that tent. It's so nice since my brothers are both 6'3 and 250 and 350 lbs. They each get a room, I get a room (which I share with my dog if she comes), and my parents get the big room.
I grew up camping and this made me angry 😂. I learned to: put up a 6person tent by myself, start a fire with rope, a stick, and some brush & cook/prepare crayfish Sooooo ya...
Woods at night don't scare me. Wandered through the woods & played manhunt when I was 12 in the boy scouts, very fun. The brightness of the moon and the stars was so beautiful. Camping is so peaceful if you have the right mind set.
I feel like you have to camping at least once you must go to see if you like it. I've been camping atleast 15 times. I'm only 15 and love camping well i'm a scout/explorer but it's just the freedom being away. Most of my experiences have been great.(i didn't tie my tent shut correctly and woke up to a flooded tent). And if you're going camping on rocks at least bring a roll mat
Fellow scout, I was in a hammock on a backpacking trip in Virginia(3 ridges) and there were 60mph gusts every 30 seconds and I flipped out of my hammock.(I'm 105 lbs) so I was scrambling all my sleep gear into another scouts tent and tried to tie down my rain fly and hammock as best I could. It was flapping around and 17° f out. So I woke up to a ripped rain fly that I had borrowed with 18 miles left in the hike.
Some of the best experiences of my life have been camping. You will never be closer with a group of people then the ones you spend multiple days on the river or in the back country with.
Rule one tarp placed properly under tent, bring hammer and other tools, bring firewood and fire starters made of wax and lint, so much more after that. Been camping every summer since I was two
As a scout, this is genuinely the saddest camping attempt that I've seen. But at least you tried! Also, you haven't really camped until you've stayed in an Icelandic with freezing temperatures on a mountain and it's raining heavily.
Always assemble your tent at home in bright sunny weather a couple of times. That way if it's getting dark or starting to rain you know how to put it together already. Also bring sleeping bags and or pillows.
They made camping look fun. Especially that huge tent, but then the awkwardness of everyone just laying down and not sleeping. Also I’m surprised that no one went with Ashely! Girls always stick together! What the heck! 😂💁🏽♀️💁🏽♀️💁🏽♀️💁🏽♀️
Well you didn't have to pack everything in without motorised assistance, you didn't have to set up in the dark whilst it's raining, looks like you didn't have to rely on the fire for food, you didn't have to dig your own kybo, or (assumedly) have to get your own firewood. This is all a solid wall short of glamping.
“City kids go camping” You mean city kids buy huge tent and sleep in the driveway of an RV site NEXT to trees.
Exactly!
Lol ikr city folks don’t get it
In other words
Camping.
Its still camping
I don't think it counts as camping if you still have reception on your phone
Dan Sanders ikr
You might be surprised where you can get a signal. I've driven in the middle of NOWHERE in Kansas and was shocked to see my phone had two bars! Hell, it even connected to the Internet although at a sluggish 80k! When's the last time you saw your phone say it was using an Edge connection for the Internet... :D
Exactly
Camping ground is still camping, you dont wanna camp for the first time 50 miles into the woods, do ya??
@@largol33t1 d
They shoulda set up the tent on grass instead of gravel...
Dark Trainer Z you'd rather sleep on grass than gravel? You're crazy dude. Absolutely crazy.
wut'sIt2yuh huh? I always sleep on grass when camping. It's a lot more comfortable
Some campgrounds require you to set up on the gravel pads. It's to discourage campers from trampling through protected environments.
Laura Whynacht Weird, that's not something that happens here in the UK.
Noobs to be fair.
They went in the tent with their shoes on! Nope.
ikr! i cringed so hard
All the dirt and rocks in there...😕
At least put a ground sheet
IKR I WAS SO DISSGUSTED
Wears shoes to bed and in their house type energy
«If we get murdered in the woods do we get verified on Instagram?» 😂😂
Rakel 🤣😂
#priorities
They do know not everything revolves around Instagram, right?
+Trinity Prothro he was joking
Rakel, that killed me!
These are the type of people in a horror movie
Fr
I laughed so hard when the man was complaining about not having a pillow and then slams his head on the ground 🤣
I had to replay that part a few times, was just too good lol
HeWells Living lol
And to think he spent 12 years in high school
me too
HeWells Living hahaha me too
jade: give us 20 mins.
eric: took us about 3 hrs. 😭😂
Haha
Boi that’s not camping. Camping is sleeping in a tent with barely enough room for everyone 😂
Payton Douglass ikr camping is totally waking up with someone's toe in your mouth lol
Growing up camping it so funny to watch them *try* to camp
😂😂
Right😂😂
j engel same
Same
j engel even as someone who’s only been camping twice it’s still funny
3:17 yes that's called night.... dude I know you are form the city but you gotta know when the sun goes down it's gets dark...
So many cities have so much light pollution now, they don't actually get dark. We camp at a federal park that has a Dark Sky Preserve, it's awesome.
Lol not even everything is illuminated. There’s always people on the streets and a bunch of lights
How have people their age not been camping before or set up a tent
They are from New York, there is no such thing as darkness or quiet in a big city.
Always an ambulance going by. Or the cops. And no darkness. none. Ever.
yeah nyc is never dark, not really. Not like it would be in the woods. And because of the lights the getting 'dark' in the city feels a lot more gradual. This would have snuck up on them
They should start a series called City Kids 😂😂
Great idea
@Kevin Brayon Okay but mood. Same.
City kids go camping
Buys the biggest camping tent in the history of mankind
Joseph Sandoval ml AaromOiopaooOoaoaao[oos o slsos l o 98th uiel u wiiu I'll oa 4T gsb fw
Lol ikr
Ya the biggest tent I ever had was a 4-5 person tent!! 😂
Joseph Sandoval there’s a bunch of people there like 9 or so
Ay they had 9 people and frankly Im just happy they used a tent and not an rv
I went camping once the tent collapsed on me in middle of the night
Resintu Toko aww Xoxad lmao
That always happens when it rains
Hahahahaha
😆 I can imagine it happening to me.
I hate it when that happens. Its like you wake up and the tent roof is 10 cm away from your face. Usually in windy nights at the beach happens
Camping is fun, but one thing that ruins camping are mosquito bites
camp fire gets rid of them pretty efficiently.
do u guys know what off is spray it on u before u go
Or pouring rain and no raincover on the tent
crippling depression keep ur tent doors shut then
You're at a campground, not in the middle of nowhere... It's not scary
To everyone in the comments saying "I will never go camping" , that's not what camping is actually like. If you are smart, plan ahead, and are a low maintenance person, camping is really fun
Bella!InTheTrees I recommend an air mattress too lol
As someone who grew up camping I’m so shocked that there are people in their adult life who’ve never gone camping, I never realized it was a thing only some people got to experience

jetfowl camping is a tent with some snacks and flashlight and a sleeping bag
What your talking about is not camping
I like turtles and camping
What you described is glamping

"I think this is going to take us about 20 mins"
"we literally took 3 hours to build this thing- "
I really like Eric. He's extremely likable and one of my favorites from Buzzfeed New York.
Simon James same
Same
Eric is just so much a nice man.
this is just hilarious to someone who has gone camping in the mountains with no plumbing for a week
Of course you're gonna hate camping if you go with a bunch of people who have also never been and no one has any idea what they're doing.
THIS! I know so many people who hate things like camping and caving because they did it with people who are equally inexperienced. Like of course setting up a tent is hard if literally no one there has ever set up a tent before.
Deprived childhoods. I was a cub, Scout and then Venturer. Camping, canoeing, sailing...etc. Only way to go. Oh, and Canadian of course.
Chris Ashcroft Minnesotan. I have been camping a lot
Chris Ashcroft I’m an Australian, the only things you really have to worry about here while camping are the killer snakes and spiders
Alaskan here. I go camping, kayaking, etc. whenever I can, and since I’m from the southeast, the only thing we have to worry much about is bears.
Wish I had that tent. That tent is lit.
Falalongkornz I have a bud tent to
Same.. my tent is tiny
Thats just sad
why did they put up the tent on gravel..
Laura Miniard their city people ... that's why
*they're
Because many campgrounds require you to set up on the designated gravel pads. It sucks if you don't have a ground tarp and/or sleeping pad.
Laura Miniard especially with No mats or moving the sticks and rocks from under the tent.
4:49 “You don’t have to tell me twice”
3:38 - So no one gonna mention that this man just said "weselves"
Aaron D lmfao
#weselves
He didn't. He said ourselves.
Aaron D the white guy was about to say 'we found' and the black guy said ourselves
Oh my gosh wait yeah. When I watched it back I was like no he fully says 'weselves' but then it took me like two more tries and you're right. But it doesn't seem like that at all. That's so weird.
BOIIII
That ain't camping boo!
Try camping in the woods! It's really fun actually :)
Sure it is!!! Ha ha ha!!! Join the army!!!! Tent all you want !!!
@Duckish Duckit's a camp ground
Near the beach is the best :)
so for the guy crying about not having pillows... just bunch up your clothes, maybe?
I take a pillowcase and use it as a clothes hamper. That way it doubles as a pillow. Been doing that for a LONG time.
You use your jacket and fold it into your hood until it creates a ball shape, I do this all the time on solo trips.
Yes very comfy, stone in a pillow case.
BjerkePresents or use your arm, that’s what I do
largol33t1 that’s so smart, imma do that next time I go camping
That's such a good tent im so triggered
Honestly they probably would have been kicked out of the campground if they were that loud after dark.
SohiHien so true
Eric is adorable
Kaneki Jeff Yeah fr omg
Ikr he's my new favorite BuzzFeed person
He's kinda immature
Killerwhale that's what make him a fun person to be around
and yah what was his instagram
I love camping. A fire, good music, great friends and a smoke.... bliss.
it *Blows My MIND* when people talk about never going camping!! *HOW?*
*Seriously* Ive been thinking of making a camping cooking video!
Sauce Stache it’s something that doesn’t interest a lot of people. Including me.
Does sleeping in my uncle's backyard count as camping
Sauce Stache I have never gone camping but I would like to sometime
well im black so
Last time I went camping it was at a public beach and the people who were staying next to our tents were playing music from speakers..
I couldn’t sleep
Next time try not camping in a parking lot and there wont be rocks. Seriously?
The “Thought this was Naked and Afraid” part cracked me up
5:19 RIP headphone users 😂
Aaron Glisson why did I click on it when I already knew what part you were talking about?
Aaron Glisson RIP iPhone users
Thank you for the heads up! 😁
*turns volume down 5 secs de for it happens
Me

Camping is the best thing ever ♥
GameWithCoco wtf is wrong with you?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!
GameWithCoco agreed!!!!!
Yeah
Kane SC huh? What do you mean? I absolutely love the nature. I live in a village in Germany near the coast of the Baltic sea. Why am I spoilt and don't appreciate what i have?
Theodd1sout agrees
I'm an outdoor adventure education student and this video had me dying laughing. I'm currently training to be a wilderness guide and have built my own shelter that I slept in in -25* C. Love when people think they're roughing it :p
If I went camping I would get like a 15 person tent just for myself
Joshua Berardelli I hope you have a warm sleeping bag because that tent won't help you stay warm
Joshua Berardelli sometimes small tents are cosier and nicer
Joshua Berardelli good luck pitching it by yourself then lmao
4 mans are the perfect size for personal everything after that is more work then is worth
And I had a 1 person tent for 2 people
Our year 8 school trip was camping in a forest. Our tent flooded and we got to sleep in the building. Rowing, climbing, archery and caving was fun though.
You never truly go camping until you go somewhere with no signal
One of the times me and my family were camping and one night there was a bad storm and we were all awake because it was like 80 degrees in the tent and we heard a crack and next thing we knew a tree branch fell on our tent over my head that trip brought many funny stories
For someone who goes camping a lot... this it very emotionally painful for me!! Haha
Do this for a week with all of them, cause this is possible one of my favourite BuzzFeed vids but it's so short ;-;
This video could have been so much better if they would have consulted someone and made it more of a social outting.
That's LA Buzzfeed
😂
Also, taught them a little more about campsite etiquette. These scrubs were loud AF. If I were next to them during this video, there might've been a couple holes through the tent from a crossbow bolt.
City People: hmm Lets try to go camping for once!
*Gets arrested*
It’s Phil of the Future.
indade I have thought he looks like him for a long time too
Eric trying to put the stakes in the ground friggin KILLED me
I love camping so much. It blows my mind that some people have never been; not even once. What was your childhood?!
Bob the builder boi
Picnic benches? Nearby cabins? A tent? This is luxury camping. The true experience includes hiking for hours, finding a random campsite in the middle of the forest, and sleeping under the stars. I wanna see them do that.
I was born and raised in the city, and have gone camping multiple times. These people just give us a bad name.
DAMMIT BUZZFEED ITS 2AM YOUR INTRO SCARED THE SH*T OUT OF ME
Go camping
*im going camping in the summer :')*
I LOVE CAMPING 🤗👌. I usually go camping every summer 😃.
Please put these three people in more videos. They are HILARIOUS!
They have a really nice tent that I could use and love😫
I love how they didn't fully extend the tent and put the stakes in. They just put them in as is.
Do it again but be more prepared. Camping is much better when you are prepared and know what to do
I am surprised they never mentioned the Blair Witch Project
Never camping? Let me guess same people that have never seen a cow.
bahahahhahahah "You're supposed to bring pillows I guess..." And mattresses!
I never went camping but I would love too
Nsar stafeenee same and I like your profile picture :-)
Nsar stafeenee as a city person, I went camping once. IT SUCKED.
Nsar stafeenee as a city person, i went camping many times. ITS AWESOME.
Mysti's Games as a city person it sucks I'd rather be camping.
It sucks if you don't know what you're doing, or if you're unwilling to try new things.
6:17 Yeah, that's an RV park not a campground... in case the gravel campsite wasn't enough of a hint.
I miss going camping it's been way too long
Dont Panic Its Organic I completely agree, its been years since i went! Im ready to go again.
Kelsie Coursen yeah it was always fun to go camping but now i got way to much stuff to do and not enough money ahah the joys of life ahah but i cant wait till i get the chance it was the only joy i had
Sammmmeeee
We have that tent. It's so nice since my brothers are both 6'3 and 250 and 350 lbs. They each get a room, I get a room (which I share with my dog if she comes), and my parents get the big room.

Sooooo ya...
Queen Marshmallow -shoulda joined the army-they could use you!!! Ha ha ha!!!
The skinny dude, the main three person at the beginning and end of the video, BUZZFEED THEY NEED TO BE MORE OFTEN ON VIDEOS!!
I am 13 and i camp at least 15 times or even more a summer.
It's sad that they haven't camped even once in they're life.😞
They should give it another try. Whenever I want to disconnect I go camping & it’s the best recharge feeling. Camping is the best!
ERIC
(thought this was naked and afraid)
when you've been living in the city for too long 😂
i love Eric too ! Lol
Woods at night don't scare me. Wandered through the woods & played manhunt when I was 12 in the boy scouts, very fun. The brightness of the moon and the stars was so beautiful. Camping is so peaceful if you have the right mind set.
It's like that episode of New Girl, but faker and with forced lessons at the end.
Eric: It's a freaking hotel. 😂😂😂
I camp all the time and I still dont know how to put up a tent :/
Abby Krueger so you sleep without one?
Leschge D no probably cuz everybody does everything for her lmao
1. Bring pillows
2. Stay near water so you can go swimming
3. Stay for more than 1 night
4. Go during summer
I feel like you have to camping at least once you must go to see if you like it. I've been camping atleast 15 times. Always assemble your tent at home in bright sunny weather a couple of times. That way if it's getting dark or starting to rain you know how to put it together already. Also bring sleeping bags and or pillows.
lmao that's not real camping
chelsea K why?
campground camping is nothing like back country camping. Its too close to civilization
The Cambridge dictionary definition of camping - "the activity of staying in a tent on holiday"
f knight That isn't even allowed in my country due to nature conservation laws
datboiwholived what? You can't go in the woods? Where do you live?
AND I TOTALLY DIED WHEN IT SAID THAT ERIC THOUGHT THIS WAS NAKED AND AFRAID
5:17 why didn’t they use the “BACK EXIT” to “SAVE” themselves
JADE
(worried about lack of chipotle)
you think they just be serving it in the woods? 😂
I love jade lmao !
lisa s. -and NO room service!!!
Mate that is nooot real camping
Real camping is sleeping in the woods with no tent
They're city dwellers who have never been camping before. I think their behavior is 100% authentic.
Save yourself

OK so at 4:05 she's talks about being murdered and she's worried about not being verified on IG if she's dies like boy wtf

*Sniff* this video is so powerful, im holding back my tears.
nevermind i just cried
Lights cotton with flint, cotton is on fire. Continues trying to light cotton more, instead of building the fire. Genius.
Thats not real camping😂
Medi Skelding ik theyre I’m gravel and a campground lol
