I just got one of these, it is sold as "metal" note plated and I think I paid too much, doh! I was going to upgrade it. I saw on another video that they may have sprayed everything with oil, and they had to wipe it down too. It was spread to evenly to be a shock leak. I think I'll just have my kids use it and "scale" display it on a shelf, and buy a Traxxas. :) I might dress up the body to match my real taco though. Would you consider putting together an upgrade parts kit and offer it for sale?
@@DJCJ999 UPDATE: I went with the Associated/Element Knightrunner Tacoma, Gatekeeper (returned,) and SC4 pro. The Tacoma is a realistic scale crawler, and so good (other than rear clearance, but I like the challenge,) I couldn't see keeping the Gatekeeper. It didn't help that I had some QC issues with the Gatekeeper which AMAIN helped resolve/exchange (they are awesome!) I would have wanted to convert it to four-wheel-steering, but the parts were more than another rig, and would just get the Capra 4WS instead.
Right about the finish on the metal parts. It's a good truck but the Tamiya is better. I have the 2012 Bruiser and one of these running from a kit version. I like the shock mounts, where are they from?
For $10 Tamiyausa has the black bumper parts tree, it also has a few other parts that are worth installing. They also offer the grommets and rubber boots for the shocks. Great bang for the buck in making your bruiser more Tamiya
Diggin this content as I’m neck deep in a clone overhaul prior to running it
The original was a 750 motor. The HG-P407 was a clone of the Tamiya rereleased Tamiya Bruiser.

@@revivingretro Thanks for the reply.
just watched you video what was the length of the rods used on the rear? Great videos.
Where did you get the rear 130 mm trailing arms ?
Why would you install shocks With spring's in them The springs are already to stiff Why are you adding more Seems counterproductive to me.
Interesting video
I’m considering the hi lift version
Did you find it all fell apart when you used it due to no thread lock on the metal parts?

Is the shock did you is a 100mm shock?
