My Pinkway is arriving today, a day early! Are there any upgrades that can be done to the airfilter or sparkplug that you jnow of. Also a xase. Thanks Travis!
Good questions, connect with @tonysdailygrind2162 for info on that. I believe the muffler can be modified. Be sure to check out my other episodes on this beast. Keep cuttin'!
Travis: I dig your rain jacket. Never heard of this company before (Cotopaxi) so I looked them up. They have a nice rain parka for $200. Not cheap, but it looks like quality stuff. I used to get parkas all the time but in recent years have only been able to find the jackets --- too short. I like the longer length parkas. They used to call them "mountain parkas" and I wear them 3 seasons. Good review / update / information on this Pinkway chainsaw. Looks interesting, but I wonder about getting parts. Even the simple things like an air filter. Thanks for the video. Hope you have a nice Thanksgiving.
Mark, thanks for pointing that out. Same here, new company to me as well. I reached out to them for a collab and they said my content wasn't within their wheelhouse...well OK then. I only wear this coat outside with firewood when I know I wont get any sap on it, ha. Good point, if you have the specs you can find parts. Buddy of mine sent me a custom chain for it as it wasn't standard. BUT, for the price point, if it breaks then you probably got your $ out of her. Thanks for watching brother, keep cuttin'!
Great video. Porting would make for interesting content. Curious what kind of bar does it take, Husqvarna, Stihl or some thing else? What's the chain size, 3/8 .050 or what?
My pinkway arrived today, it said all over saw, manual box 50:1. I've seen many videos of it being 25:1 was a little shocked to discover the saw i just received today, strictly said 50:1
I can't show you a picture of my saw, the box ect. I wasted extra money buying a fuel jug, and pre mix, and non ethanol fuel for this saw I knew was arriving today. After I received it, I was like???? So I went and bought true fuel! Great saw as of now, I'm very impressed with this 63cc PinkWay saw.
That's crazy how they chained to box and printed materials to read 50:1. Maybe they got so much negative feedback. Glad you liked the saw. Stay tuned, I have another update on my Purple Monster soon. Thanks again for watching, keep cuttin'!
That's super interesting, Allen, thanks for sharing. Maybe that's the newer generation of Pinkway saws...the company got feedback that 25:1 just isn't a thing in the US/Canada. Did you see the latest episode on this saw? It's now ported! Thanks for watching Allen, keep cuttin'!
If you do decide to modify the ports, I would focus more on a good polish job. The reason is simple, all engines are basically air pumps. If you make one part more efficient, you have to make the rest more as well-namely air intake and exhaust. All three need to be in balance or all you have is a machine that runs super hot and eats itself to fast.
@@TravisDoesFirewood don't use a saw much these days but just today me and my youngest son got the old McCulloch Titan 57 powerhead that was rescued from scrap running again, now the search for a couple new parts begins and she will saw again!
Man, that thing might spin a 24" What size chain does it take? .050 3/8 72? My woman wants a purple saw now. I might get her one. I know id use it too,
I'll have to look but good idea. Check out @TheRustyGarageandHomestead's episode on his Pinkway top handle if you're interested. Thanks for watching, keep cuttin'!
40:1 is a perfect mix it's what I run in all my saws even if they call for 50:1 the main thing is just make sure you run a good synthetic 2 stroke oil it's made to handle the high rpms of the new saws and works with the old low rpm saws aswell doesn't really matter what brand of oil they are all good
I'd say as far as modding goes just do a muffler mod to open up your muffler by getting rid of the baffle in it. Making it more free flowing will help it out a good amount without having to do any crazy port work to it. :)
“Get rid of the baffles”? I thought engines need a specific amount of back pressure to work best and that's bound to have been worked out when it was designed. Why would a manufacturer not make the best of their engine, especially if it means it would be cheaper to make! They wouldn't! That makes no sense!
@@r.martin3494 Chainsaws don't need backpressure. They're not a tuned 2-stroke like a dirt bike which is why dirt bikes have expansion chambers and chainsaws don't. Chainsaw mufflers are little tiny boxes. The baffles are there to quiet the saw down. Some manufacturers go as far as putting a little catalytic converter in the baffle to help with emissions as well as quieting the saw down more. Both of which are not good if you're after performance because they restrict flow. The federal government doesn't care about performance or longevity when it's on the shelf. They just want it quieter and to put out less emissions.
The only steel is rings, crank, and bearing. My understanding is the oil ratio is to offset crappy oils. These saws are intended for 3rd world holes. They might get run with 30 weight, or god only knows what. Similar ratios were used 60 years ago, and 30 weight was the recommended oil. Here, in the US.
Good question. I think the commenters in the unboxing episode (ruclips.net/video/29XBHEHbRiw/видео.html) answered it, pretty much the oil standards in China differ from N. America. Thanks for watching, keep cuttin'!
With any saw you have to do maintence. I run premixed 50-1 fuel including my clone 066,not had a issue ever. A dirt saw is a happy saw :) 25 is common in other countries because they do not have the same fuels and mix oils availible. Flip the bar everytime you take it off to work on the saw. Go with another saw instead,This saw should be ported to see if it can survive it. I would look at buyin a neotec in the 70cc rankge with a 28 inch bar.
Great Video Travis! Hoddie! Keep the saw the way it is, maybe put a pipe on it to get a little more out of her. Stay Safe, Continue Stacking, Keep Cuttin!🪵🪵🪵🪵

Why does my pinkway say 50:1 on the saw and 25:1 on the manual😅

That mix ratio if for countries without proper oil..which I'm sure you are familiar with doing the good work

The higher oil ratio is because of the lower quality steel.

50:1 oil ratio for chainsaw gas normal, why are they calling for double the oil. at 25:1..???
