Yes the Liftgate functions. There may be a reduced area, however It lowered itself on me twice during the wiring installation, until i placed the keys away from the Vehicle.

I prefered to leave the drawtite hitch installed for the pre welded Bracket Flange to Hold the 7 way wiring. Seen here: ruclips.net/video/Bof4mz_XjDA/видео.html.
