    I don't think the Warriors would match up well with the Bulls if this game is played under traditional defensive rules from the past. I think the Warriors would find out real fast that the Bulls will not let this be a glorified shooting practice like most NBA games are today. The Bulls are just too athletic and versatile defenders on the wings that would disrupt Golden State. Also, the Bulls would just score on will on Golden State. I think a hypothetical seven game series the Bulls take this 4-1 or 4-2 at worst. Golden State is dominant in this era because of rule changes that favor offenses It is no different than in football where rules changes have started to favor offenses in that sport also. I would go even further and say that there are many teams in the 1980s and 1990s that were better than the Warriors if traditional defensive rules are allowed.

Every other team in the West had injuries. Does that mean the Spurs would've won? I don't know, but reason people talk about '17 as being a goat team is because they only lost 1 game (same as '01 Lakers). If the series even goes 6, no one is saying that's the best team of all time.
      In 2018, that same GS team BARELY beat the Rockets. They also lost multiple games in earlier rounds to teams who were far inferior on paper. Then, of course, they beat the brakes off Cavs (their easiest series imo). You're telling me, that a team that never (and I mean NEVER) lost a series with homecourt, had an 8 year stretch of going 24-1 in playoff series, never lost a series when it was favored, and by that time had either 3, 4, or 5 rings is going to be worse than the Rockets? In '98, everyone had a great chance to knock off the Bulls cause drama and injuries, and STILL couldn't do it. Every other dynasty team in history has been knocked off for some reason or another, but the one team that didn't is going to be worse than the Rockets?
      Make it make sense besides you like the names on paper. Cause names on paper said 2016 or 2011 shouldn't have been close. Names on paper says Lakers should've made the playoffs last year. Names on paper says Brooklyn shouldn't have been swept last year. Names on paper said Mavs should've lost to the Suns. Cases of "names on paper" happen so often every year, it seems like it's a dumb way to judge. Difference with Bulls is there was NEVER a time when their "names on paper" disappointed. Only other team in NBA history that might have that same thing is Russell's Celtics.

    Yes MJ never lost in the finals but neither did the Warriors with KD (healthy).
    And saying that today's teams were baffled by the Golden State offence but that the Bulls were used to it is just false. Nobody ever extended the defence like Steph. The geometry of the court in a half court set itself has changed. You didn't have to guard shooters at 35-40 feet. Very few teams played at this pace, very few teams had such a pick and roll heavy offence and rarely did any team play five out or had such off ball movement.

He was exclusively defending bigs by then. Robertson is 6'3" and peaked in the 80s. Wilkins was a poor defender; you're just naming him because he's tall. Nick Anderson was also a poor defender, had short arms and was a middling lateral mover. Stacey Augmon had nowhere near Iguodala's strength, motor, or IQ. I hate how these guys cherry pick examples to make their case like how the Bulls swept Shaq and Penny's team; the Penny that was just in his third year. They make it seem like he was an all-time great in his prime that was swept. Or saying that Jordan's 6-0 in the Finals, so he's probably going to remain undefeated if he played in any other Finals, and the Bulls had to go through all these great teams to win it all. Please, Jordan couldn't get out of the East the first 6 years of his career (3 of which was with Pippen). I don't care if Pippen was only a 3 year starter; in this equation he was an all time great like Penny was. Only reason Jordan is undefeated is because all the teams that kept beating him in the East got old, and the great Western teams all got old too. If Worthy and Scott had been healthy during Jordan's first Finals, he may be 5-1.

    • @jasonh5547

      To be fair Penny was on pace to becoming one of the best players of all time. Also, in MJs early years the East was stacked with some of the best teams of all time such as the Celtics. That is why context and understanding the history of what was going on at the time is paramount.

    • @Hienieken
      @Hienieken 2 года назад

      @@jasonh5547 that's my exact point. Being on pace to become something is not being something, and they are using Jordan's Bulls sweeping the Shaq and Penny led Magic as a prime example of how unstoppable the Bulls . It's an example of them using history without context to craft a narrative that's untrue. And again, they were saying how stacked the East was, but in reality, the East had gotten old, and MJ couldn't beat the great teams of the 80's, and he feasted on the good teams of the 90's.

    Depends on which era's rules. The rules of today wouldn't allow the bulls to play high defense. MJ and Scottie would foul out in the first quarter of today's league. Golden State would out shoot the Bulls hands down. On another note, if MJ had the greatest team of all time then how is He the GOAT?? That means He was supposed to go 6-0. I don't see the hype of the 6-0 argument if you have the best team.

    The 2016 / 73 - 9 Warriors were the Greatest Team ever to not win a Ring . Major Injuries derailed them in the Finals primarily .
    The 2017 Warriors are the Greatest Superteam , ever going 16 - 1 in the Post Season . They won 65 games , they led in Offense and Defense all Season . They had the Best All Around Shooting / Defending Backcourt ever in Curry , Thompson . They had 3 of the Greatest Shooters Ever / Curry , Klay , Durant . They had a Top 6th man / 2 Way Player Andre Iguadala . They had a Top DPOY candidate from 2015 - 2017 / 2016 DPOY Winner Draymond Green . They had 3 Good all Around Centers in Green , McGee , Looney that could Score , Rebound , or Defend well . They had the Greatest Small Ball Death Lineup of All Time / Curry Klay Durant Iguadala Green . They had a loaded Bench of Good All Around Players that could have been Starters on other teams . There's nobody on the 90s Bulls that could have covered or Shot Blocked KD's Jumpers or 3 ball . The Bulls weren't good enough defensively to chase the Splash Bros or Durant around for 48 minutes . Luc Longley would be on an island in Pick N Roll switches covering Curry on 3s ?
