It is incredible, how quickly the time has passed! This is already the last Channel Update video of 2023, as always there is a lot to report.
Apart from the projects i am currently working on there is a lot to say about my great journey to England, where i had the opportunity to visit the famous Scale ModelWorld show in Telford. I am very impressed by it and enjoyed my time there a lot. All the people at and outside the show were incredibly friendly and open, that impressed me the most, alongside the great amount of awesome models and a good vendor area. On top of that it was a wonderful experience to finally meet some old friends and fans there in person. As you can see, human relationships were indeed the focus there!
Furthermore i was able to host the virtual exhibition "Video Model Show" again with your help. I want to thank all the supporters once more for sending in the photos of their models, with your contribution the Video Model Show stands or falls. My part in the story is small.
Finally i want to wish you all a nice Christmas season and a great start into the new year. Stay healthy and enjoy the hobby!

Ich bin mal gespannt wie dein Diorama zum Gruppenbau von Jorama/Scale Bench sein wird. Dein FERRET macht schon mal einen guten Eindruck. Auch wenn er Dir einige Probleme bereitet hat.
Mein Opel Blitz mit der Flak 38 ist bereits fertig. Jetzt nutze ich die Feiertage für die Figurenbemalung zu meinem Beitrag für den Gruppenbau.

Da hat sich die Reise nach England und der Gang nach Telford ja in jeder Hinsicht gelohnt. Letztlich ja auch ein paar schöne Schnäppchen an Land gezogen.
Hast noch einiges im Bau, also Langeweile kommt da sicher nicht auf. Man hat eher zuwenig Zeit und Hände!

Perfekt ... ein weiteres Highlight ... ich liebe deine Kanal Updates ... das is ja wieder einiges zusammengekommen ... eine tolle Unternehmung in die außereuropäische Nachbarschaft und eine beachtliche Zahl an Neuanschaffungen ... sehr gut ... da können die Feiertage 23/24 gut genutzt werden. Auf dein Baubericht zum Ferret bin ich schon sehr gespannt ... Airfix ist es wohl gelungen dir eine extra Herausforderung mit einigen Sonderaufgaben unterzumogeln ... eieiei ... beste Grüße und fröhliches modellieren, Markus
Das ist doch genau das richtige nach Weihnachten, erstmal Füße hoch und Kanal-Update schauen :) Ich für meinen Teil bin gerade voll dabei ein paar Projekte ordentlich nach vorne zu bringen. Demnächst kann ich mal das angekündigte Video über den Ferret filmen.

Wieder einmal ein sehr schönes Update. Dein Elsass selfmade Haus gefällt mir ausserordentlich gut. Ich glaube auch 2024 wird bestimmt spannend werden. Mal gucken ob es mich dann auch mal wieder in den Süden verschlägt. Was sind denn deine Reiseziele in Norddeutschland? Wenn du in der Nähe bist würde ich dir gerne meine Gastfreundschaft erweisen. Und wenn du was mit Flügeln bauen willst da könnten wir den Bf110 Buddy Build doch noch mal wieder etwas forcieren.
Vielen Dank dir Dennis. Jetzt wo ich darüber nachdenke, ich bin demnächst tatsächlich in deiner Ecke unterwegs, zwischen Bremen und Hamburg. Ich melde mich diesbezüglich mal bei dir, hätte ich auch selber draufkommen können :)
Die 110er ist mir dann doch etwas zu groß für den Anfang, wenn ich ein paar Großprojekte wie das Eisenbahngeschütz vom Tisch habe, dann ist das eines der nächsten Baustellen, die ich aufmachen werde. Dachte an einen Feldflugzplatz mit ein paar Fahrzeugen dabei.
War mal wieder Kurzweilig, freu mich schon auf den Saupreiß, aber ich will kein Druck ausüben😂.
Ansonsten Frohe Weihnachten und wenn wir uns nicht mehr lesen, einen guten Rutsch ins Jahr 2024.

Great update.... :) It didn't take you long to complete the Ferret, it seems. I will start mine on the 5th of January, as it will be a double entry for the 'Cold War Revisited' group build and the Wheeled Vehicle In Military Use' group build. I will probably build mine more or less straight out the box, bar the aftermarket brass browning gun barrel.. I want to add a crew figure but it is near impossible for me to find something appropriate, but I do have a plan in place for that. The German Medic set you showed towards the end is a very nice set indeed, I have already built it. Once again I'm pleased you had a great time at Telford, I'm used to the British prices so probably would not have been shocked. I think entry is free for IPMS Members, but whether that is worldwide or just the UK branch of IPMS, I don't know. I'm a member of an IPMS club, but not an IPMS member.. :) I'm still on sickleave because of my foot, but it seems work has changed the shift pattern now and instead of working Sunday - Thursday, I will work Monday - Friday, which is more normal, when I return to work. This will hopefully allow me to attend more weekend model shows next year, unless work change the shift pattern again. Looking forward to seeing your upcoming model videos, I will post my 'Year in Models - 2023' video after the new year. I'm still working on my last project of the year, which is a little Krupp Protze in 1/72 for the 'Wheeled' group build. I probably won't complete the build before the end of the year though, as I don't tend to do much modelling between Christmas and New Year.. I am the opposite to you.. ;) I hope your Christmas was great and I wish you a very Happy New and Prosperous Year for 2024. Happy Modelling!!

The Ferret is certainly not a kit i can compare to most of the other 1/35 scale kits i usually build, but you are probably not shocked by its quality and the detail. In the end i managed to turn it into a nice model with a bit of extra effort, which wasn´t crazy, so i guess it is okay afterall.
Regarding Telford, the entry i free for all IPMS members worldwide, i considered joining a chapter just for that reason, but figured it is not worth the hassle. Since i don´t go to Telford every year and i really liked my time there i can cope with the cost of the entry fee.
You have some sweet projects on the go, it is sometimes hard to keep up with it mate :) I am looking forward to seeing it all and what else you have up your sleeve!
The Airfix Ferret has the quality I expected it to have, to be honest. I also know that Airfix likes to keep the after market people happy, as I may have mentioned before. No doubt there will be a resin or 3D printed engine on the market before long, maybe a set of crew members and various replacement parts. For me, it is good enough for what I want to build.. The bit I really am looking forward to is trying to recreate the outer part of the Berlin wall.. It will be a challenge for me, I'm even less experienced in that field, than you are. The shot up house you are working on is a piece of art...

I watched your entire video from beginning to the end. I enjoyed your talk about various things but I especially like how your explained how you built the armor car diorama you recently uploaded on RUclips. I also like how you explained building those scratch built buildings, I thought your techniques are quite impressive. I also am amazed how many other projects you are working on...it appears you definitely have a model kit studio full of your works in various stages, wonderful! I hope you have a great time visiting Northern Germany. If you decided to visit the Toy Show is Nuremburg, I hope you will enjoy that as well. I received your email. I sent you a reply back by email. Looking forward to the Rhodesian Ferret. Depending on your scene, most vision hatches would be open to deal with the often oppressive heat ( most resin kits available don't allow for this; even BAOR vehicles often had them all around the driver open). The figure with the boonie hat might need different headgear; there may have been some solid green British ones still around in the 70s, but don't ever remember seeing any in Rhodesian brush stoke pattern; if they existed , they weren't very common.
I got that in an online shop, just search for Monty Python shirt and you should stumble across a couple of good ones :) I love silly shirts.
I would have kept the vision hatches on the Ferret open, but the parts were just too chunky and i had no suitable driver figure at hand. Normally the threat environment wasn´t that intensive that the hatches had to be all closed, but one has to make due with the things we have. Thank you for the info on the headgear. I will keep the bush hat on the infantryman, since that is quite in line with the reference photos, they existed in green, olive and in brush stroke patterns alike. However, i will change the head of the vehicle commander, since the figure comes with a head without wearing a hat. I don´t like that, he will receive a Hornet head with a beret.
Mi piacerebbe comprare il t 34/76 Dragon i primi modelli: 1941-1942 ma costano 60 o 75 €. Sei fortunato ad averlo pagato meno il modellino. Prima o poi lo comprerò Michael

Traudl ist ein guter Laden, die Auswahl ist vergleichsweise groß. Wo gibt es denn überhaupt noch einen Modellbauladen, die kann man sich in Bayern an einer Hand abzählen. Wenn man in der Nähe sein sollte, dann lohnt es sich auf jeden Fall mal reinzuschauen. Man muss ja nichts kaufen, schauen kann ja auch mal nett sein, falls man nichts finden sollte :)

Die Reise nach Telford lohnt sich, kann ich sehr empfehlen. In Moson möchte ich auch wieder dabei sein nächstes Jahr, vielleicht trifft man sich dort endlich einmal!

Den KW-85 hab ich noch von Roskopf in 1:100, mittlerweile 40 Jahre alt. Für mich der optisch schönste Russen-Panzer.

Ich hatte leider viel um die Ohren und irgendwie war ich vor Weihnachten nicht so ganz in der Stimmung, ich hoffe das ändert sich demnächst und ich melde mich :)
Der Eintrittspreis für Telford ist saftig, aber ich sehe es lieber, wenn man das Geld den Besuchern abnimmt anstatt den Ausstellern. Ist auch logischer finde ich.
