i had only heard of this song because of wwe day of reckoning i liked it and i just remebered it bye watchin a video and it brang my memory on how awsome this song is
I saw choke and smile as the person was upset or "choked" up, due to the ending of a relationship/betrayal that he didn't understand. Hence the " So you lost my friend, such a sorry end. And I don't know why." I also saw "you lost my friend" as you are in the wrong/missing out. So then he doesn't want to show he's hurt/weak so he chokes back the pain and fakes a smile. But hey, it's all a matter of interpretation. Your opinion is just as right as mine.
