Nothing wrong with the Bulldog for weight shifting. I did an hour xc out and return only weight shifting on one. Brakes only used for takeoff and landing. You're falling for grass is greener on the other side of the fence. And if you you're worried about bumps, you'll feel a lot more of them on the maverick
Weight shift has never worked for me on the bulldog. The new cronos is a game changer for me. I still have the bulldog as my wife is going to learn to fly and it's the perfect frame for students

I do think that maybe it needs hang testing again. Do you have a picture or a video of you in yours so I can see where the straps are?

No. Just planes and helicopters. I did have a brmird flying beside me for a few miles once.
