I really like it. Got it free on PS Plus (it's like half cost everywhere else) and it's been a ton of fun. Love the story mode and exploration and I think the driving model is super fun. The car building is very impressive, and split screen in all modes was a surprise. The micro transactions don't bug me, I don't need to spend money to win or unlock content, and I've been earning enough cash in the game to get a few things here and there. Oh, death match mode is pretty fun too.
@@EvilRUclipsPoop it’s because they keep the prices the same across countries and stuff instead of localising the prices, I’m in Australia and $90 is about 60USD
Honestly, in a few months, when it drops in price, this will be totally worth it. The racing stuff is above average, but it's a fun multiplayer game, and the building element totally makes it worth it.
I feel that the game's two biggest missed opportunities are the lack of racer customization (this is genuinely bizarre to me) and the fact that they didn't use any of the countless Lego owned properties and characters. Like, Ninjago is almost entirely about the vehicles these days (I haven't seen the show in forever, but my understanding is that the current season is even about racing), Monkey Kid seems to be a pretty big hit, and it's utterly bizarre that a game so clearly inspired by The Lego Movie doesn't actually have any characters from The Lego Movie
Great review, Cam! I had no idea that was a meme at 06:30. lol. I definitely enjoyed this one more than you did, but I'm a pretty big racing game fan. I love the online play aspect, and I find that the Drive Pass gives me something to grind for. Also btw, they seem to have increased the amount of Brickbux you get per race by about 4x (from what I can tell), so Unkie's Emporium prices are more reasonable. Anyways, I enjoyed this one, thanks for the review!
I'm glad you're enjoying the game! I figured people who like racing games would enjoy this game, which I'm glad about. And that's actually a really nice change, it's cool that it seems like 2k is actually listening to complaints about the game!
I was originally excited for a new Lego racing game because it seemed like such a "why hasn't this happened yet" move. then I heard that 2K was making it and my excitement dropped into cautious curiosity, then the name got leaked, and it was so painfully generic that it dropped that cautious curiosity down to mild neglect, then the price, microtransactions and f*&^ing battle pass was revealed, and That mild neglect turned into burning hatred. so needless to say all intrest I had in a Lego racing game is gone thanks to 2K. Was there really no one else to do a racing game?
When I first heard about this, I didn't expect it to be 2k themed, but its fine I guess, I don't think I'll get the game anytime soon because the price is a bit much, my walmart has like a whole shelf of these
I quite like lego 2kdrive, the worlds are pretty fun the races are fun and varied. And that car creator is top notch. just the price of it and the monetization are really letting it down.
Banger video as usual man! Big props to your thumbnail artist too cause they just keep getting better and better 😍 Hope you had a nice vacation and glad to see you back in the swing of things !!!!
Great review, however you hit my funny bone with games VC developed. VC became main developer of WWE2k with WWE2k20, before they were just a side studio helping the main dev - Japanese studio Yuke's (they've been making WWE since 2000, and pro wrestling games since being founded in 1993). I know I'm nit-picking and VC worked on WWE2ks, but I'm always annoyed when Yuke's are disregarded and pushed aside.
I haven’t played this game, but the title always did feel a bit egotistical on the part of whoever came up with it. The name 2K doesn’t hold as much clout as they seem to think it does.
I was excited for the game and almost pre-order it. But after seeing how many dissapointed games being Release and my first Pre-Order was Cyberpunk 2077. I decided to wait, and Oh boy I I did wait. The Customization sounds too good to be good.. as I knew they will find ways to make you pay. Anyways, I'll Probably buy it when its on sell and all DLC is released.
I think the game is worth the price it's at now, they put lots of content in the game and it looks absolutely stunning on my 4k tv. I do think character customization should've been included base game but I don't doubt that it will be added later, they already announced some new maps later down the line and the current battle pass system works perfectly and I feel like current games should take note
Welcome to modern gaming where devs just ignore fans and add constant dlc microtansactions Activision, 343, ubisoft etc no bothering to finish the game no wonder I downgraded myself (better driving games test drive unlimited, burnout franchise, nfs mw) overall TT is the core dev of lego games and 2ks version is just a cash grab
As someone who has limited experience with the Lego Racers games, and who has purchased 2KDrive, I'd rather just play Lego Racers. The car building is easier to control, the driving is better, the powerups are more useful, you can customize your character, and there aren't microtransactions keeping you from having parts to build cars with.
One of the worst racing games of all time. So obscenely expensive, while somehow also JAM PACKED with microtransactions. Buying the 70 dollar edition is a complete rip-off, and paying any more than that is laughable
What did you guys think about 2k Drive? Also sorry if I sound a little different I was sick while recording the video and currently still sick!
You are not my friend

Its weird that they dont let you customize racers. It feels like such an obvious idea.
I think it's an ok game but the price knock's it down
Yep like $90 here
@@PLAYER42_readynot even worth more than 25$ tbh games should never go above at least 60$ 90 is just egregious
@@EvilRUclipsPoop it’s because they keep the prices the same across countries and stuff instead of localising the prices, I’m in Australia and $90 is about 60USD
It's not even been a full year yet and I forgot this even existed since May.
The only reason I remember it exists is because I felt so ripped off for buying it...
I keep coming back to see any updates (hoping it's dead)
Honestly, in a few months, when it drops in price, this will be totally worth it. The racing stuff is above average, but it's a fun multiplayer game, and the building element totally makes it worth it.
Completely agree!
70$ WITH micro transactions for building my car in a LEGO game completely killed any interest I had in buying this game
Yeh, like it makes sense in a free to play video game, but in a "AAA" title it's just kind of sad.

No it's insane. Not even Skywalker Saga had it, like these are lego games!!
Yeah, the cutscene dialogue was kinda cringe, but when I remember that Forza horizon 5 also has a heavy dose of cringe, it seems less annoying

Lego racing game with no demolition derby mode 0/10 immediately.
Oh my God that would've been such a cool idea, what a missed opportunity

That's probably the best route to take because you'll have loads to do!
Yeah this game got me by surprise it is entertaining but is grindy
You should try pikmin 4 demo it's like the old Lego games.
I'm a massive Pikmin fan. I don't see how Pikmin is like the LEGO games. lol
If we are talking nintendo games I'm more of a Zelda fan

Thanks for your reviews. I found a ton of awesome Lego games on 3ds.
And I was excited for this one too. But now I know I can pass on it.
Well, at least the Game is not called Lego Racing 2K 23
Always look forward to your videos❤❤❤❤
I’m glad! :) a lot more to come!
Welcome back Cam!
I'm happy to be back and ready to upload a lot this summer!
Looks like an okay game, but the price is a bit too much.
How could you not like racing games, and the game is not that bad. Plus, what do you mean you don't like the title?
me ha encantado el video, buen trabajo Cam!
I be poppin bottles
I was kind of right it’s a console spin off sort of

Can you make a video about handheld ben 10 games please?
How does a cartoon network video games video sound with Ben 10 included?

I think this game is better than this guy

protip in being a good game
don't invest in 2K, because they make bad sports games.

Racing games feel Slow honestly
You could've stopped at "paid driver pass" and I would've believed you, so tired of season/ battle passes
Hey great short video brother this game looks mid
I’m glad I avoid it. Lego Racers and other racing games are so much better.
The game is great

Lol there was no WWE 2K21. I love ur channel but do ur research bruh 😂 it skipped from 20-22 bc 20 was so bad and buggy they overhauled the game.
