  • How to keep your garage cooler in the summer while you're working on your classic car restoration project with this Hessaire 3100 evaporative cooler, the best garage tool you need this summer!!!!
    Here in Phoenix, Arizona USA the summer heat can get up to 120 degrees F in the SHADE, and well over 150 degrees F in direct sunlight. Trying to restore a classic 1967 Pontiac Firebird F-Body or a 1967 Porsche 912 coupe can be deadly if you don't have a way to stay cool!
    With this new Hessaire 3100 evaporative cooler will drop the heat of my 500 sq feet garage from 110 to about 85 or lower in a few hours. The best $400.00 USD I have spent in the garage in a long time!!!

    This might be obvious, but just for anyone considering buying this, keep in mind it will not work well (if at all) when humidity is too high, and will even increase humidity wherever you put it. That means it's a great product for dry places like Arizona, but if you live in a humid area it will likely be ineffective.

    I use an artic breeze (aussie) 1500 which tops out at 2800 cfm but I use the lower speeds. I place it on a garage shelf butted up to the exterior wall and curt a hole in the side of my garage for a direct sealed intake air from outside and vent it out a garage door plexiglass window (made a slider) and for higher speeds crack the garage door open a bit to vent out the hot air and keep humidity down. Even though not in the desert (san francisco east bay) humidity can get very low and it works well if you use it correctly. Makes my 2 car garage comfortable even on 110 degree days so I can work on my rolling restoration 1985 mercedes 300sd. GOOD VIDEO

    Thanks for the video we just bought one of these bad boys, with side door open about halfway and garage door up about 10 in easily brings down the temp 20° Another idea is to insulate the garage door, just a cheap kit at Home Depot, with west facing garage door lowered the temp another 10°-15, we also get snow every once in awhile and it keeps it pretty toasty in here

    I bought this 3 months ago. The pump is out. I didn’t remove the old pump or hardwire the new one. I just dropped in a $14 HF 1600 LPM pump cut a little notch in the case for the wire to come over the back and now there’s two plugs on the unit. One for the fan and one for the ultra quick change pump. It’s literally just sitting in there. I know this well water will eat it up. So no sense in hard wiring. I’m in west Texas in a commercial 1200 sf storage/shop space. 14” ceiling. When it’s 100-105 outside it keeps it 85-87 in that big shop with the overhead door cracked 4”. 😅

      @@ArrowheadGarage Thank you for showing me how to get into it. Once I saw inside yours I was like “we’re gonna be able to make this thing run forever.” Thinking about buying a spare motor and a third standby pump just to have. Cause you know it’s gonna fail when it’s 110 outside and you’re in a position where you can’t just quit. So Ima be ready! 😅

    I'm in Las Vegas, I have the same model. This thing brings the temp down but makes the garage humid af. I think my issue is that I don't have a door leading to the outside other than the garage door. I do have 2 vents ( 2x 10" x 20") at the floor level because the gas water heater is in the garage, but I don't think it's enough to let air out.

  • @DriverGuy23
    @DriverGuy23 3 года назад +3

    Just got one of these last month. I use it in the back of the tandem garage Which is used as a game room. It brings the temp down usually 8-10° or more. Works best if I open the side door along with cracking the bottom of the garage door to get the air moving and cut down on the humidity.

    • @ArrowheadGarage

    This couldnt be more appropriately timed. This whole week has been 117+ in Phoenix. I'm working on my truck outside. Actually I'm not working on my truck at all because of the heat. How would these handle being outside pointing at you, under an EZ UP? I'm doing a lot of welding, I'm concerned about the flash rusting on the bare metal.

      Whats that do to your electric bill?

    • @electropentatonic
      @electropentatonic Год назад

      @@sikryd If you add either a evaporative cooler or a mini-split, your bill will increase. The difference between the two will be small. Mini-splits are usually wired in single phase 240, while coolers are single phase 120. This keeps actual wattage down and keeps the measured power between the two very close. My 21 seer 1 ton split unit runs 4 amps and increased my bill 40 dollars per month in the summers. This runs 24hrs per day and maintains the garage temperature as opposed to just switching on a wet cooler when you walk out into a 130 degree garage. I live in the desert, I know humidity and temps play a role in which would be best for you. This is better for me

    I live in Sun City Arizona. And this thing is useless for the garage,. It's only good for already cooled down areas. What's the point in buying something to cool if it only works when it's in an already cool place? Just blows hot air on ya'. My $25.00 fan did the same thing. This is nothing more than an expensive Humidifier. And no where to insert ice blocks if you wanted. Completely useless. Waste of money. Don't buy.
