If you can’t say something nice about someone, then don’t say anything. Thanks for your work Sally.
If you can’t say something nice, STFU. Thank You Sally.
I didn’t slag her whatsoever, I said it’s a shame how she’s aged, you thick stupid twat, read what I wrote, are you a northerner by any chance, probably are
Be quiet
Who the F are you to tell us what we can and can say? We're all entitled to an opinion so F off!
absolutely right bless her
Well said Carl. why cant certain individuals have a good word to say, so bloody miserable. We all get older, that’s life. She seems like a perfectly decent person, inner beauty is a far greater characteristic in a person.
Sally was lovely then and still is now, she has a goodness and sweet expression that still shine through!
I'm in my sixties, I remember this being a really Great film.
It doesn't matter what age Sally was, she was an actress 'Playing' a part.
Doesn't that prove what an extremely good actress she was/is!
The Railway Children and Man about the house. Priceless memories. Thank You Sally.
The fact that she was able to convincingly play an eleven year old at age 20 shows her acting ability.
Talented actress. I loved her in Man About The House
I doubt there's a man about the house nowadays 🏡 😣
@@robbiekop7 Wrong! She has a male partner, Paul.
@@robbiekop7 And why would this be the case?
Think of the joy and happiness this film brought into peoples lives.
What a brilliant film The Railway Children is. Nice gentle family stuff with actors at their best. I’m only seventy but I can honestly say it is probably one of my all time favourite films. No computers, no televisions, no snowflakes, kids dressed like kids, no cursing, kids respecting their elders. The list goes on.
@@zanyzoo6767 Far better than the disrepectful, selfish, brainwashed snowflakes today who know all about their 'rights' and nothing of their responsibilities.

I loved the Railway children then and still from time to time watch it. I noticed an error in the movie the 1st time btw.🤣
One of my favourite films, very sad that Bernard Cribbins has died today aged 93.
I loved that film of the Railway Children…..I cannot say how many times I have seen it. Loved all the cast……Sally you were brilliant.
Good for you Sally it doesn't matter I loved the railway children as a child in the 70s and still do I've been lucky enough to meet Jenny she was such a lovely down to earth person too ♥️
I am sad to learn today of Bernard Cribbins' passing. Revel in Paradise, RIP
What can I say but thank you sally. It was so good to see you again.
Lovely to see Sally! She was wonderful in the film.
Loved the film and Sally still looks lovely to me. Brought back good memories of a time gone by.
I didn't know she was an ex of Richard O' Sullivan
As a young lad I had a soft spot for Sally, such a cute lady. I'm glad she she's still doing okay
@@smooth_sundaes5172 She hasn't gone down the same road as most celebrities, with face lifts and botox, I do think she would look a bit better if she had a shorter hair style though.
@@yorkiesteve9453 Richard like many of women he worked with....if you get what I mean, even married ones.
Ms. Thomsett, how lovely to see you on my computer. i am much older than you, bu I see you forever in "The Railway Children". But now, how nice to see you in real life. You are lovely!
Everyone gets older, bless her, she's lovely
She still has that glint in her eye 🌹
The Railway Children, my most favourite film of all time. My mum took me and my sis to the pictures to see it.
The Railway Children was such a heartwarming film about a time that sadly will probably never exist again. Nice to see that Sally is fine. Great memories.
"...a time that will probably never exist again.."
You mean a time when there was no health care and folks starved if they lost their job? Don't worry we are on our way back to those times courtesy of The Conservative Party. It'll be great 🙄
Probably?

The railway children was one of my favourite films as a child and I would still happily watch it now in my 50s and can’t wait for my grandsons to be old enough to watch it with me. Love sally she is adorable.
She was a great actress, the railway children, man about the house ,ect, ect, miss you on tv❤️❤️👏👏👏
etc, etc, not ect, ect, you moron. I shouldn't be surprised if you are one of the ' should of ' semi literate crew.
I enjoyed that film, great story, great cast. I remember Sally from Man About the House, the bubbly blonde. Sally still has that cheeky smile and you recognise her immediately. We all get older and age, people always refer to ladies getting older but never men.
Well Sally is a girl and has not aged well, so I can understand people commenting on it. Men on the whole, seem to age better, but we're not immune to it. Take a look at someone like Randy Meisner from the Eagles. He's a man who aged quite poorly too. It's just a fact of life. The only people who evade it, are the ones who have died. I choose to go through it.
That's true; getting older on the outside is obvious but men, in spite of many appearing to be younger on the outside, nevertheless are their true age inside where it counts healthwise (something that can't be escaped).
@@castleanthrax1833 Sad about Randy Meisner, everyone ages both men and women, but Randy is not in the best of health which makes him appear older - I wish him well, he was definitely one of the talents of the Eagles who are one of my favourite bands.🦅
@@gilliankingston8259 I wasn't aware that being bipolar makes you age poorly.
There's been some horrible comments about male actors getting on old on social media
I am 73. Loved this story as l can relate to it so much in my childhood experiences. My children growing up also loved it. I hope my grandchildren will feel the same.
When the father got off the train and his daughter shouted
" Daddy,Daddy!".
Heart wrenching.
It was deja Vue for me. I had exactly the same experience after being away from home and meeting my father on Heuston Station in Dublin in the fifties.
I said the same, adding , " l hardly knew you in your new shoes "
I was four years old.
That moment in the film was my experience.
That's so poignant :)
I always always cry when she shouts to her father, Even when I watched it as an adult with my own children, who are now adults, I dont mean to be pedantic, but I think she shouts, Daddy My Daddy, it was the 'my' that really got me blubbering!! A beautiful film, they just dont make them like that anymore. Children were so much more innocent for so much longer in those days. that was such a lovely poignant memory you shared, so lovely how it related to your experience.
Then she goes on walk about what would Daddy say ??
I imagine quite a few people twigged when she turned up in "Man About the House" three years later playing an adult!
What a fantastic film the original was! I was just a little boy when this film came out and it brings back fond memories'. Thankyou Sally. Thankyou to all involved in the film. An absolute classic.
Absolutely love the Railway children.
All great actors. ❤
Thank you.
She was 20??!! Haha, that's crazy, I never knew that. Lovely film 🥰

This woman has lived life full on she's brilliantly honest, she's growing older naturally which makes her more lovely, would love to see The Railway Children again sometime..
It's on BBC Iplayer at the moment.

Good film. And it was only 3 years later that Sally was part of the cast for TV comedy Man About The House, which shows she couldn't have been 14 by then. Anyway, she did good. Thankyou Sally for your acting abilities x
Every now & again they pop this wonderful movie on, here in my city, Melbourne. Beautiful memories & what a lovely lady she is, warm, caring & honest.
Don't think I will be watching the new version with an imagined character who likely never existed in the english countryside around 1900 but Sally's version is the one of my youth and the one I love and watched many times!
I saw this being advertised on TV yesterday, why do they keep making remakes of classic films and TV series can't they do their own thing. Let me guess the new film is multicultural lol
@@chucky2316 The TV and film industry is dominated by woke, middle class, uni/drama school types. They have no imagine and only get into the jobs because they have connections to the right people or have family in the industry. Jenny Agutter who played the older sister is actually 2 years younger than Sally.
its a shame that things and memories change. i remember so well seeing her on 'junior points of view' when the was about 12, and i still think of how she gave me such a boost and a feelgood memory.

A beautiful actress, Sally played such an amazing role in this film, I love this film watched it many time, such Beauty, kindness, compassion and reality, something that is missing todays society. The Railway children is ultimately one of the best made films ever, the story and the actor and actresses were brilliant real good kind characters. Some of these actor sadly missed, I am 52 years old and this film has always cast in my mind some of warm happy feeling, and to top it all I work on the railways and deal with situations like the land slide in the film. I had a crush on Jenny Agutter she is beautiful, 🤩. A much loved and beautiful film, with some of the best actors and actresses ever. A celebration of all that were cast in the film and the director. Lovely heart warming, beautifully cast film.
Nothing beats the sweet innocence of the original movie, still one of my favourites.

I loved that film. Thank you Sally and it seems that you are just 9 days older than me, but you appear to be much, much younger.
Great story.. great film... great cast..

Well done Sally..
In 1978 when I started work in London, one day there was a heavy storm and I was running from Oxford Circus towards the BBC building near where I worked. I crashed into two women. I stopped and looked up and the women were Sally and the woman who played her mother in The Railway Children. I apologised and Sally gave me a lovely smile and said 'don't worry, it's OK' :)
Just like a human being?! (no pun intended)
Her screen mother was Dinah Sheridan, real life mother of Magpie presenter Jenny Hanley.

Richard O'Sullivan has had a number of strokes and lives in a nursing home.

Sally I would love to love you..you have not lost your charisma or charm and I would love to love you ..all those years ago you were the most beautiful lady I had ever seen..nothing has changed
What a lovely lady sally is!!!
On the back of the new release, I just rewatched the original film and even though I now know of the stars' actual ages, it's still a lovely film, so simple and delightful - great casting and great performances - everything a good old-fashioned Enid Blyton adventure story should be! A Big Thank You to Everybody Involved!!
OFF TOPIC. I watched the remake out of curiosity. Not convinced they needed to remake the classic ... just like Swallows and Amazons. Too much correctness in these remakes. Good lord, Titty became Tatty, spoilt the whole film. Arthur would be turning in his grave.
@@glamrockretiredfan6829 It was never meant to be a remake. Bobby is a Grandmother in the new film.
I never thought she looked 11 in the film, but a teenager. People have to remember, she was a fully grown woman in Man About The House shortly afterwards. So people must have known she was nowhere near 11 as soon as that comedy show started.
Exactly, how could no one see it.
People are stupid.

After 52 years, one is supposed to age. Ageing is a privilege. So many people don't get to do it.
Everyone ages

Oh I love Sally, thanks for entertaining us in Man About The House
sally thomsett is a great actress & television personality.
I am a huge fan of the 70's sitcom man about the house
like i am with many of the fantasic british comedies from the era.
It is very easy to see whilst watching many of these sitcoms from the time
that most of the cast & crew got on like a house on fire.
It is for this reason why they worked so very well.
Im not of the same generation as when these were first aired.
I was a mid 80's child who very much had a good eye for detail.
it is easy to see that there was something very interesting about the 1960's & 70's
especially on that with fashion & music.
I suppose its because people had to make more of what they had and took much less for granted.
It was only 20-30 years after the war.
Peoples way of thinking was different.
The 1970's i feel was the most exciting era of the century with transport becoming slightly better
technology was more on the up although still basic.
I definately feel that people communicated much better during the 60's & 70's
they certainly had a very good time with parties and family gatherings.
Getting to the point.
Some people who are making rude comments on sally's apperance.
What you have to remember is that sally just like many of her contemporaries at the time
lived the high life of the 1970's.
Sally was young, she was beautiful, sally loved sports cars, craved excitement, she had it all.
I have absolutely no doubt that sally liked a good drink and most likely a smoke along with it.
Absouletly everyone drank and smoked during the 70's. If you were of a certain age at the time
with money
you certainly went along with it all when working alongside the many stars of the day up in high places.
Im ultimately sure that sally will tell you that seeing what she has experienced
has very little to no regrets.
Im pretty sure there are many here who have met her, can tell me what a lovely lady sally is.
Her personality always shines!!!!
Loved the film and Sally🥰

@@TASIAawful1 Hi there 🖐️thanks for your comment on the railway children referring to actress Sally thomasett..I agree with your encouraging words on the meaning of age..I do however spend a lot of time titivating myself everyday trying to look pretty..its a must that I look my best when going out into the world...or else the public looks at me like I have the plague..it seems this world has this idea that looking pretty you are liked but if a person is ugly they get rejected...its not fair how good looks and youthful appearance plays such a great part in this world.. i want to age gracefully..
