Contrary to popular beliefs of getting a tackle like Jordan Morgan, I think the cowboys should grab Powers-Johnson, guy is a fantastic run blocker and great pass blocker, he’d definitely be an upgrade over biadasz, and we’d finally see what our runningbacks can actually do

I would like for the Cowboys to take an offensive lineman in the first round. I lean towards taking a tackle, but someone with center experience would be a good choice as well. If there's any chance of trading back and getting one of these players while adding a draft pick, I'd like that option. I won't be disappointed if the Cowboys double-dip at offensive line in the first four rounds. I agree that the time to take a linebacker will be the second or third round. I won't be disappointed if the first four picks are two offensive linemen, a linebacker, and a defensive tackle.
If they can trade for picks and get compensatory picks, I would consider double-dipping at linebacker and triple-dipping at offensive line.
Much of this depends on what kind of development they believe that they will get from current players. Will Asim Richards or Earl Bostick Jr. ever be playoff-quality linemen? Will Matt Waletzko ever be a playoff-quality lineman? Will DeMarvion Overshown and Trevon Diggs recover from their knee injuries? I think Deuce Vaughn is a lost cause, but I wonder how Hunter Luepke, Rico Dowdle, and Malik Davis will develop. If Juanyeh Thomas, Markquese Bell, and Israel Mukuamu can be the future of the safety room, then maybe a safety isn't needed. Jayron Kearse will likely be done. Malik Hooker is getting older, and Donovan Wilson wasn't consistent in 2023. Peyton Hendershot seemed to have great promise but has been a disappointment. Is he going to become a reliable TE3? Is John Stephens Jr. going to recover from his knee injury and be a quality player or will he be another guy who just looked great in one preseason game? He's still listed at wide receiver. Will he really convert to tight end or will be become a big wide receiver? Will Viliami Fehoko Jr. ever be a worthwhile player in the NFL or is he another complete bust? Will Eric Scott Jr. turn into a reliable backup cornerback? I hope that the team is finding correct answers to these questions before drafting.

It IS easier to teach and learn run blocking than pass blocking, which is why I want our rookie OL to be able to run block well.

I like Barton in the first because he leaves options open for a center later in the draft, but he also fills the slot if need be.

I honestly think that RB is clearly their biggest need, but that doesn't mean they have to draft one...
Online is their biggest need. Without upgrading it, it wouldn't matter what RB you draft or sign.

I'd put him back in the slot & make sure to add a better depth option who could also play slot
Here is the List of what dallas needs to have a team that can go the distance. Two offensive linemen who both grayed out excellent in runblocking, a power running back, A third wide receiver who is solid, Two linebackers, DT who can stop the run and a safety who can start right away also good against the run. Get all these pieces and you've filled all the major holes in then. There should be no excuse for not getting to at least the nfc championship game, if not the super bowl. Tom tell me what you think of my list. I don't think I missed anything, Obviously this old can't be done just the draft. But that's what you need to do with the draft end of the season. If you read this Tom Downey, let me know what you think of my list

I wouldn't mind an O linemen or a D Lineman. I know we drafted Mazi last year, but where was that guy at? And the big D linemen you mentioned seemed like a good fight. Other than that some beefy ILB would be nice but I don't believe I saw anyone.
I like the Wisconsin RB not sure if he's a 1st rounder but wouldn't mind bringing him in. But whatever done in the draft needs to be paired up with solid FA signings.
Id like mims if we figure out qb sitchation before draft i like him young bull dozer but lb is the biggest need by far i really wouldn't be mad if we took line backer back to back pics and do is basically like a rookie

Realistic #1 pick is whatever BEST Offensive lineman is on the board. #2 is the same. Best available Lineman on the board. #3 we need to get a quality RB if we don't sign a James Connor type FA. After that, we LB, DT and whatever else is in need of some help, be it another LB, WR, CB or QB...
Not interested in ANY prospect that has a suspect "medical". We don't need another Jaylon Smith or LVE...

Personal I said it once I'll say again I want a RB. Said it last draft and what did we need the most, a run game. Pollard and Dowdle are free agents the only guys we have under contract are Deuce Vaughn and three other guys on the practice squad

I bet we could get JJ McCarthy the 24th pick to have him set behind Dak 1 year and then takeover for millions cheaper . JJ is a winner and doesn't choke in big games like Dak always does.

Braelon Allen would be great to get in the 2nd round. I know King Henry is wanting to come to Dallas and run behind that great OL. That would be great, but Allen would be way cheaper.

You can't compare Mazi Smith to Sweat at all in my opinion. At 362 lbs you have no choice but to double team Sweat or he's going to ragdoll your center/guard. Plus his get off is better than Mazi's cause Texas doesn't use that crazy, but effective, scheme Michigan runs. You can say Murphy was a better player at Texas but it was because Sweat was getting all those double teams that he had the freedom to go one on one all the time. If you want Mazi at the 3 technique, which makes no sense at all then I'd say get Sweat. I can guarantee he won't be getting washed out of the middle of the defense or turned as easily as Mazi was this season. Oh and Mel's list was terrible
