    I like the design of this with the back supports. But no thank you for an app. Hope it is a great bike for lots of folks. Nice review Russ. Looks like a beautiful day there. We have been overcast for a few days. I am looking forward to the sun in a few days. Funny about the Roomba setting off the bike.

    I worry that as time goes on bikes will wind up being app driven, and we could wind up in a situation where the manufacturer will only do updates for a certain amount of time like cellphones do. I think that less interference from outside the bike is the way to go!
    Corrugated plastic works great for bottom of racks and weighs next to nothing.

    Apps can be very useful. Using it as the controller is pretty gimmicky since you have a screen and buttons on the bike anyway, but I guess they may as well give the option when they make the app. The more useful stuff is ride data and the easy ability to program settings. That’s how my EUCs are, I can change riding parameters and stuff (set max and warning speeds, change response to pedal input, etc.), which is nice, and I use the app to record ride data for most of my rides. And if people don’t like the app in the case of this bike, they certainly don’t have to use it. Looks like a pretty nice bike.

    Hey Russ congrats on the first ebike review of 2024, quality video as usual! The Freedare is a gorgeous looking ebike and the price for its features are more than reasonable at $1,599. The app is efficient and a future trend. I'd like to see 5 PAS levels vs 3 even with torque sensor, 52V vs 48V battery, and larger 180mm rotors. I can definitely see you keeping this ebike in the Russ Is Right arsenal for a while👍

    Perfect bike thats meant for bikeres is the Trek allant+7. Only a class one but has quality parts. Bosch mid drive and the 500wh battery lasts easy 40 miles on moderately hilly roads on sport mode. And here's the big thing that alot of your bikes don't offer.
    Its bike dealer supported. These bikes that are sent by truck might be manufacture supported but when a motor or battery quits working good luck 5 years from now. Just my two cents.

    • @MazichMusic
      @MazichMusic 3 месяца назад

      True about support issues. I bought an inexpensive 20x4 folding bike and the front fender was not right. Customer support replied that they would have a new fender shipped from China. I have not seen it nor has there been further communication. I can always buy generic replacements. When the bike dies, I'll just part it out.

    The Eden bike weighs 84 lbs. Do you know if the 11 lb battery is included in that number or does the bike weigh 95 lbs with the battery?
    Thanks

    Looks like a nice bike. I don’t know how I got my phone plan cheaper by adding 3 SyncUp trackers from the carrier but it did. I have a place I could also add a different tracker but I’ve never gotten a straight answer about something. If a bike is stolen with a tracking device, is this enough for a police department to issue a warrant? I guess it varies with jurisdictions but how would police know when to act?

    • @RussIsRight
      @RussIsRight  3 месяца назад

      Police usually will not act and search for a bike even if you have an Apple Air Tag or similar device on it. Same with this device. You need more proof that someone took your bike and that the person near the bike is actually the person who took it. It's tougher than you think.

    • @stellar808
      @stellar808 3 месяца назад

      I’ve gotten the same impression from others about this. Sometimes thieves will take the bikes outside state lines beyond local jurisdictions. Makes it tough.

    • @RussIsRight
      @RussIsRight  Месяц назад

      The Eden is a rather large ebike, but it's a step-thru, so maybe she can handle it. Keep in mind that it is rather heavy, so she should be aware of this. My wife is 5'4" and I don't think she would want to try it due to the weight more so than the size.

    • @kenly351
      @kenly351 Месяц назад

      @@RussIsRight thanks. She want something light. But i would like big tires for good traction in North America You have any suggestion?

    • @RussIsRight
      @RussIsRight  Месяц назад

      @kenly351 Sadly, most fat tire bikes are relatively heavy. A commuter style bike would be lighter but these usually have tires that are around 2.7” vs the 4” fat tire e-bikes.
