Ive wanted to try speed running, but I’ve always been too busy, so I plan on trying to speed run a game during the summer! I’m probably gonna speed run south park the fractured but whole because I don’t really see anybody speed run that!

Oh absolutely. My only official runs are for metroid dread 100%. But I’ve recorded hollow knight any% NMG, and kirby forgotten land metaknight cup (i use needle instead of hammer because i like it more)
Legend of zelda a link to the past 100% has been one ive been wanting to record. Ive get well under 3:30 and i think i can get a sub 3
I just started playing ori will of the whisp and thats been going well. I might try some runs at that. And silksong is supposedly coming ay some point
20:18 That's actually a character from one of the rhythm games. The wrestler being interviewed in Ringside. He's one of the most memorable characters in the game.

So the horrific thing about the credits sequence is that the double jump is a somersault into a jump.

When I played the game I kinda thought it was a given. That's basically the gimmick of the wii rhythm heaven.

It should be noted that, at the time I'm writing this, Jaiden is still in the Top 20 rankings for Rhythm Heaven Fever speedruns, and 4th place out of the WiiU players, which I think is still pretty dang impressive on her part, even if she was being humble about it
Thank you to all speedrunner content creators who do this so I don't have to. I get stressy enough playing games at regular speed. It cracked me up when she mentioned running Elden Ring as an old man because I just rewatched Secret Sleepover Society's Dark Souls 1 playthrough as an old lady character named Granny Smith.
You've just reminded me I need to finish watching their playthrough.
So many of the challenge runs are even more bonkers than just regular speedruns. Like all this morning I've been watching people play like Contra and Ninja Gaiden like without special items or even getting hit...
Surprisingly, despite being on the wii, there where no motion control shenanigans involved in this game, it's just the A and B buttons

@@YoBGS Yeah, I know that feeling. And it's not an unfounded fear. Losing momentum is a very real thing. It's sent a lot of my personal projects into cryostasis. However, burnout is also a real thing, and is even worse in a lot of ways. If you ever feel like you need a break, take one. Your content and your health will be all the better for it. And always remember, make the content you want to. Be it History, Gaming, Mythology, Music, or whatever else. We'll all be here to see it.
I remember watching a Blindfolded speedrun of Rhythm Heaven Fever once and if I’m correct for a superb it doesn’t depend on how many you miss but when you miss so a miss in the beginning of a mini game it’s gonna hurt less than one near the end
But in a blindfolded run I would think that getting off beat once would like doom you for the whole rest of the event
Well there are lots of different cues in the songs that can help if you listen for them, some are necessary to complete levels blindfolded

@@firebluewolf6862 Well, retiming is a thing that happens pretty frequently with a new run, especially if it's a top time. So I think it's within the realm of possibilities
Fun fact! The number of mess-up’s does matter, but where you mess up can also cost you the metal
I remember starting speedrunning a non-game (There Is No Game: Wrong Dimension) for the first time and I got softlocked.
(At that point, I don't even know what softlock means.)
The layout in the OBS is bad and it's recorded in 48 FPS lol.

The only speedrun I've attempted is Dark Souls. My goal was to get under two hours (I'm a super casual player and the record at the time was around 44 minutes or something), but I ended up getting just over three hours. Which was still fast for never having speedrun before but I really wanted to start a Soul Level One run so I never got around to beating my PB.
Dark Souls is a braaaave first game! I know that I could never beat it that quick. That's why I stick to retro games for my runs. For the most part they're super predictable and as long as you practice you can get pretty good

@@YoBGS Dark Souls is my go to for a casual comforting game when I'm stressed, so it seemed natural to try speedrunning it.

Dang, I give huge props to anyone who runs a Metroid game, ESP the 100% route. I keep telling myself I'll beat Super Metroid any day now.... 20 years later.
@@YoBGS metroidvanias are conceptually the perfect game for me. I naturally work to beat a game quicker and quicker as i replay it and so the open endedness of the genre just naturally encourages me to get increase my skill and knowledge of the game.

I sort of want to try speedrunning Hollow Knight. I know there is an amazing community surrounding it. Otherwise the game I'd probably try to speedrun is the game I know the best: Shining Force 2. Maybe one day I will give it a try!
You brought up DDR and there is actually a speedrun of one of those games called DDR MAX where the objective is to get a Perfect Full Combo (the highest possible grade/score) on every single song on the Expert difficulty.

I still haven't done one, I remember that I wanted to give a try to speedrun Minecraft Java at one point, but still didn't touch it lol adult life is consuming my energy and time. Maybe on my vacation I can give it a try 👀
06:23 this takes me back to my old Rune Factory 3 accident speedrun i did which is imagine harvest moon or stardew with a fantasy rpg element, i was at junior high and i want to basically finish all my games i have in my ds emulator, and
to give a bit context Rune Factory 3 storyline needs you to be married to progress the last chapter, and to get married you need to get enough hearts with the girls and finish all their request but you can only take one in all 3 spot available request
And during that run i got so many love potions (if gifted gives so many affection point) and so many treasure chest that i dont need to craft any gear during my playthrough lol
i never realized how lucky i am with that run lol

Cultivate What Matters Most
Picture yourself wearing compassion, patience and forgiveness t-shirts. It may sound ridiculous, but Colossians 3:12 tells us to "dress" in characteristics that match our identity in Christ. In other words, we must clothe ourselves in actions and attitudes that result in us looking more like Jesus every day.
So how do we do this?
One way to start is to think about the struggles that keep you from living more like Jesus and then start replacing them with the opposite action.
• If you are sarcastic and incisive, choose to say something kind.
• If you tend to be harsh, choose to do things that demand kindness.
• If you are holding a grudge, choose to offer forgiveness.
As you continue to do this, choose to participate in activities that build you up spiritually. It could be something like connecting with friends who will help you take responsibility for things, memorizing Scripture passages you can apply in your life, or cultivating compassion by serving in your community. The more you intentionally pursue actions that lead to humility, compassion, and kindness, the more these traits will naturally become a part of your life.
And as you pursue the qualities mentioned in Colossians 3:12, the changes they produce will be most evident in the way you treat other people. The apostle John says that we cannot say that we love Jesus if we hate one another (1 John 4:20); therefore, a life that reflects Jesus will embody love. According to 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, love is "patient and kind... not easily angered, not holding a grudge... All suffers, all believes, all hopes, all endures. Love never perishes."
A life marked by God's love will demonstrate the things the apostle Paul quotes in Colossians 3:12.
So if we want to live like Jesus, we need to receive the new life He has given us and accept His unconditional love. Only then can we begin to reflect His love to others, showing people compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
And today, what do you need to do to dress these characteristics? Write down one or two struggles that often trip you up and make a plan to remove them from your life, replacing them with actions that bring you closer to Jesus.
