Thank you for sharing such an informative video..I am rspecially moved by your Ceri Caddy..full of Edith Holden..such a loving gift...so special.. I love the Flower Fairies...even at the age of 70 I have never outgrown some of my childhood enchantments..so I am inspired to do likewise with The Flower Fairies..Thank you..and Ceri..so much..💚💚
I absolutely LOVE watching you “think through” the recreation of your beautiful gifts from Ceri. Such an inspiration, both you and Ceri.... and of course Edith Holden, posthumously! Thank you, Gayle!!!🌿🌺
Good morning Gayle,I enjoy Forgotten Fridays as much as I enjoy scrappy Saturday. Edith Holden books are amazing. It’s so exciting to have a friend who can draw beautiful birds . Blessings to you and your family.💚💕💚
Geez, I wish I could find a reasonably priced Edith Holden book. I love them and I love how you use it, Gayle! Ceri is a gem for giving that to you as a gift.
This was a best forgotten friend Friday because you used treasures from friend Ceri and friend Gayle. Hi and hug unforgettable friends from Carolyn in Louisiana.
Hi Gayle, Most days I watch you for several hours. Sometimes I choose certain videos if I want to learn something other times I just let youtube choose the videos. When I started to watch this video I thought to myself she just did an Edith Holden video with Ceri's stuff. It turns out that one of the videos I watched yesterday is from a year ago when you were recreating Ceri's pockets. I was so inspired I got out my Edith Holden books and since they are still sitting here I will craft along with you again today! As always thanks for sharing, you are a joy to watch.
I remember when you received this amazingly thoughtful gift from Ceri...it definitely is " the gift that keeps on giving"!! 😘🎁 Thank you for taking us along as you revisit these great ideas using EH pages!! 🦋🌷🐦 I think I saw a bee(along w/ a butterfly) on page 95, but it may not be "in the middle" enough!? 🐝❤🤗
Hi Gayle ..so nice to have coffee with you this morning. I love the way you celebrate when you find what you need. I have several Edith Holden books and such that I need to get busy with.. I really want to try making the things you and Ceri have. I hope you have a very blessed day 🤗💜
You must make your photographer/artist friend an Edith Holden journal and give her a book to let her know she is this generation's guide to the beauty of birds. This is how you can pay Ceri's gift forward.
Hi Gayle!! That was an awesome gift from Ceri!! Lots of examples that you can make for yourself!! Edith Holden pages do make for wonderful ephemera!! TFS!! Hugs, Liz:)
Good Evening Gayle! Love Edith Holden books, I have two and don’t have the heart to cut them up. I’ve decided to save them for my granddaughter’s. I do enjoy reading them too. Great ideas for book pages. Have a great weekend and see you on Scrappy Saturday. 👍🌼🌼🌼
I'm really enjoying the forgotten friends! Edith Holden books are like hens teeth here in nz... And I managed to get one... But I'm just hoarding and ooohhhing and ahhhing over it for a wee while! ❤️
Happy Friday Miss Gayle!! Love love love yours and Ceri's awesome work with the wonderful Edith Holden..You guys have definitely inspired me to look for her books and come back and watch this video again..Thank you for sharing all the fun with your subbies❤️ I laughed so hard when you found that second Poppy page, when you said yesssss I thought of a teenage girl when she gets asked out by a cute boy and after they hang up she says yessss🤣🤣 I love watching you cause not only do you inspire us,but you give us laughter that lightens the load for a lot of us❤️ Be blessed my sweet friend!!
Edith Holden has become one of my absolute favorites, especially her incredible illustrations. Someday I hope to have one of her books. I was formerly trained by a watercolorist for 15 years. I can’t wait to make a journal inspired by Edith Holdens amazing work. You did an incredible job along with Ceri to capture her beautiful work.
Gotta love Edith Holden. I am hoarding five books. I purchased some individual pages that I use as of now. Maybe one day I will be able to cut into one of the books. Love Ceri’s work…he is such a clean crafter.
You can never have too much Edith Holden! Perfect timing, I need some pockets etc… for a folio I am making and some of these will be perfect! Thanks for sharing sis! Excellent reminder of forgotten friends! Love you! 🤗❤️🤗
I remember when you opened his gift. Fun to watch. Boy o boy I’d love an Edith book. They used to be inexpensive but not now. I squeal a bit when someone finds one at a charity shop. 💕
Hi Gayle, Ceri sure made some beautiful pieces with the Edith Holden. I was in awe watching the video where you opened the gift. Enjoying this video and feeling inspired to create!
The Edith Holden ephemera is so awesome. Need to get my Edith Holden book out and get some made. It all looks greagt. More things for your retreats💕💝💝💝
Your so cute. I was yelling at you when you were looking for the poppy page. The example you had, had the page number on it. You were cracking me up. Glad you found it in the end. I was laughing so hard.
Morning, Gayle! I bought an E.H. book a fair while ago now. Unable to cut into it of course. But this morning watching this video, by which I mean tidying and rearranging my craft room while I listened and occasionally looked up, I decided to deconstruct the book, still keeping the pages intact and use it as a gardening journal with other pages interspersed throughout. My present one is too small, though it was one of the first altered books I made after learning the technique from you a few years back. Your student has come full circle! Hahaha... Veronica x
Hi Gayle, Thanks for taking us through the steps on how to make some replicas of your Edith Holden stash. I do have a book that I hold precious. Love from Colorado.
Edith Holden pages make such pretty ephemera pieces. Everything looks very nice. Thanks so much for sharing another great Forgotten Friends Friday video.
Good morning Gayle!! Love all these ideas for Edith Holden!! Can't believe it's been 2 years ago already...time flies when you're having fun crafting. 🤗 Yesterday I was sorting through my handmade ephemera and found a few pieces left from my mass make from Edith Holden pages 2 years ago. My plan for today is making more!! Have an awesome Friday...💜
Good afternoon Gayle. Isn’t it nice that the little things make us happy 😊? Love ❤️ these book pages ideas 💡. Have a great day and we’ll see you tomorrow. Hugs 🤗 DarvaDee
Edith Holden books and pages are phenomenal. The poppies remind me of my mothers garden where the poppies bloomed in front of a limestone wall. I always looked forward to their blooming season.
Hi Gayle! I just got back from a 10 day vacation, visiting with a friend so no time to watch any RUclips videos. So I am now binge-watching Gayle videos and I love it! The idea that struck me with this video was: the top parts that you cut off the bunny bags, could you not fold them down to make new pouches with new bottoms? Looking at the original bottom of the bunny bag it doesn't seem too difficult to copy, this way you'd get 2 pouches out of 1 bag🙂 Hugs from Germany🥰 Danielle
Enjoyed the video. I remembered when you got that birthday present. It was so exciting watching you open it. I am glad that you revisited again so we could see it. Have a wonderful day.
This video is so timely. I’ve been working on a couple of Edith Holden journals for a few weeks now, I’m slow, and I just took that poppy page and pulled it out and put it with my poppy journal stuff to bring to Montana.
Ummmm...hi, Gayle. I don't want to alarm you, but I'm hoping your outside yard bunny wasn't looking through your basement window when you were cutting those bags at the end. I mean, if you go out and see him running away just a bit faster than usual, then I suspect maybe he did. 🐰 Just sayin'... So, because I know how much you love your yard bunny, I wanted to suggest that maybe next time, if you think you will be chopping several bunnies in half, you might want to close the window curtains so it doesn't traumatize your cute little yard bunny. 🐇 😉 😜 😂 Remember, Gayle, I'm half Goofy Newfy! 🤪 🤣 I love Edith Holden and other artists who exemplify her. Such talent! That was such a thoughtful gift from Ceri. So glad to see you using some of it for your next journals. They are going to be lovely for sure with EH items in them. Looking forward to those upcoming videos. Have a wonderful Saturday. Hugs! God Bless! Sue ❤
Hi Gayle I have 3 copies of A Country Diary and really need to do something with them, luckily here in the U.K. you can still find the books for not much. Sending hugs
I think I have watched that video 5x... easy! Cry every time! OMG went to my local thrift store, made a bee line to the craft area and found 21 TIM HOLTZ ink and oxide pads. $1.59 ea. All work. My sister bought half I bought the other half. I had zero colors and 4 browns. Now I have a rainbow of colors! Can't wait to use them!
I have to rewatch this one just to double the Edith Holden eye candy fix. 😁😁😁💕💕💕😁😁😁 your enthusiasm on finding the second poppy page was so much fun. Right there with you!
What lovely pockets. I keep looking at my thrift stores but still have not found any Edith Holden.😞. But I do have a botanical book so I will try with that. Nice ideas, Ceri. Thanks for an interesting, fun, and relaxing video today! These days I need videos like this. I have been having a hard time being motivated to craft much since my surgery. But this has been a very great to give me ideas and get me motivated. Love to you my friend.
Just got my second EH book, the first one I keep whole for inspiration. This second one I’m going to use. If you think about it, the book is about the same cost as a high end Craft Consortium 12x12 paper pad. Thanks for the inspiration Ceri and Gayle!🌾💐🪷🍄🌾
Gayle, I think the next generation looking for Edith Holden books will either need to shop overseas and/or buy the coloring book and color the images themselves!
It don't feel like 2 years ago gayle n I watched that video n u got emotional n it was funny , u always are , only few weeks ago I subbed to ceri he quite a character nice man xx sp
Happy Friday Gayle! Yeah got to love the Edith holden books, I only have one and for now I'm hoarding it. 😂 Hope you both have a fun and fabulous weekend, take care. 💜
I don't blame you. I'd have to keep one intact and look for another one to craft with. I've been collecting old books for years (before I knew about journal making) and now they are in style. I can sacrifice some of the vintage books but I've come to realize that others just need to stay as they are. Both are o.k. by me.
OMG! That’s amazing! I’m actually working on an EH journal and I was just about to search for ideas! And this video was first on my subscription list! 😬✂️
The Edith Holden book is just so very beautiful. I keep marveling at the creative artistry. So exquisite. I love what you and Ceri have made with those gorgeous pages. I wanted to ask you if you’ve seen videos about faux rice paper? I watched a video by Treasure Books “DIY Faux Rice Paper Tutorial - Easy” last night and was just amazed at what can be created with Elmer’s, or inexpensive, white glue (not ModPodge though). I wondered about your opinion. Thanks. Hugs to you! Susan G
Gayle: that Edith Holden Book is a real keeper. When it came out years ago, I saw it and immediately bought it. The Ceri Carrier is a keeper too. I wonder if he made that too? This project looks like it’s going to be a honey of a project. Carol from California
Gayle: I emailed Ceri with the same question. Thank you for getting back to me. Now, that carrier is a very functional item. The size, depth and pockets seem to hold a lot. You two could collaborate and improved on it and call it the “C & G” Carrier. I bet there would be several people interested in purchasing that. I know I would. Or both of you could collaborate with the manufacture who is making it. Think on it! But don’t ink it! Haha Just a business thought. Carol from California
@Gayle Agostinelli We have an old book store here just down the street. I will check there. Thanks so much Gayle. I enjoyed this morning. Take care .👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️
When life gives you bunnies….make hasenpfeffer! I own three Edith Holden books; two were purchased at a used book store and one at an estate sale. All three were purchased for the sole purpose of using them in Junk Journals. That was several years ago and none of them have been touched. I just can’t bring myself to cut them up. I think we need to start an Edith Holden Junk Journalists Intervention group as a subsidiary of your “Subbies.” How do you do it, Gayle?
I know. It’s hard to make that first cut. 😳. But I need to use what I have so my kids don’t hate me for leaving so much stuff when I’m gone! 😂. One book will last you years of making stuff for journals, so how about using one that’s in the worst shape and keeping the other two? ❤️
P.S. Love the Bee page pocket. I'm sending you a kit that I'm calling the Ultimate Bee journal embellishment kit. Hope you like it and can use some of the items!
I found two in op shops for $2 each. Online I have seen them for sale up to $100 and local second hand book stores they sell for around $20.00. They are becoming harder to find now here in new Zealand.
So happy your using yrs, means I don’t have to use mine 😂love the pockets. 57,000 people know what you’re doing, a few old ex colleagues don’t matter a knats whisker, as my grandma used to say. 🥰😍😂x I’m making the pockets but have scanned them, just for me no reselling.🧐🤭
"Not to worry that I chopped a bunny in half...it happens." I'm giggling uncontrollably.

I know. It’s hard to make that first cut. 😳. But I need to use what I have so my kids don’t hate me for leaving so much stuff when I’m gone! 😂. One book will last you years of making stuff for journals, so how about using one that’s in the worst shape and keeping the other two? ❤️
SUCH A FUN VIDEO-TFS-HUGS/BLESSINGS
P.S. Love the Bee page pocket. I'm sending you a kit that I'm calling the Ultimate Bee journal embellishment kit. Hope you like it and can use some of the items!
Thank you! ❤️
