Me too! So happy you're following and for the shout-out for Julie, she's such a hoot. You both are brilliant crafters, kind and so humorous. Julie is a hoot - love you both!
I’m addicted to making these! It really does help to have a template made, it just goes much smooth and quicker! Take good care and have a blessed day! Hugs, Chris
I had to pop back and say a big thank you for the introduction to Julie... she is just my cup of tea and has me in bits watching her videos... you are both superstars thanks again ~ Sue
Oh Gayle I just love you and your videos bumbling artist or not. This is a very cute idea. Thank you Julie for coming up with it! Must go and see her channel. Thanks Gayle for sharing and teaching us if you don’t succeed the first time try again, don’t get frustrated! You decorated up yours real cute! ❤️😊💐
Oh Gayle this was fabulous and I can't thank you enough for the huge shout out🤗 To answer your question about how much paper I used coming up with this, I have no idea. I have a huge stash of very dated and not very pretty 12 X 12 sheets I just mess around with until I come up with something I haven't seen before. Then it takes another couple to figure out exactly what I did before I get the posh paper out ☺️🤗💜🙏
As I said to both you and Miss Gayle, I made a “Happy Accident” on the very first of these that I made, but it just makes the folio a bit more delightful…my front flap is not as wide as it should be because I cut the tops and bottoms incorrectly too… since then, I have learned to keep my ruler near my side to measure each end…Hugs to You…❤️❤️❤️
OMGosh Gayle you did a fabulous job on your project, I love it! I watch Julie a lot, almost everyday, because she not only does beautiful projects, she is hilarious! Everyone needs a good giggle or a belly laugh! Julie is fantastic and so are you Gayle! Thanks so much for all you do for us. Best Wishes and take care from Nova Scotia.
Thank you. I watch Julie and have learnt so much. I do templates of projects that I like, but like you this got me confused, but unlike you I gave up 🤪. I will watch your video again and attempt to do template as I like it. Thanks for showing all of your attempts and mistakes, a pleasure. 😀🇦🇺🍀🎄
This video was particularly endearing because we saw a person that we all love very much persevere with grace and humility through a situation that was stressful. Your controlled emotions and humour, alongside your positive outlook, saved the demonstration and turned it around. Well done Gayle for keeping the video and showing us how to handle life's unexpected turns. The project is wonderful and well worth the effort to make it. Thank you.
So happy you're following and for the shout-out for Julie, she's such a hoot. You both are brilliant crafters, kind and so humorous. I'm thankful to be apart of a group who share, acknowledge and learn from one another. Blessings to you and yours.
I so appreciated that you were persistent in creating this project! By the time I finished watching the video I made a prototype and it worked out perfectly 🤗 folding it before cutting was VERY helpful! I love it!! Thank You Gayle!! I too love watching Julie!
Good morning Gayle. I think these type of flip/folios are cool but I'm all thumbs when I do them. I love Julie. I usually laugh alot when watching her.
Hey Gayle as kind of a newby in this it's awsome to see that you leave your "mistakes" in your video's so we can see how to alter or remake them. It's always a Joy to watch them. Thank you so much
Just got around to watching this one and I’m so glad I saved it to watch while on a road trip with my husband in our r.v. The first thing I did was went over to Julie’s site and watched her episode on this genius of a 7 pocket mini folder. Thank you for sending us her way…she is a hoot (as you are!) and a great teacher (again, just like you!). Between both brilliant crafters, I was able to put together a few of these that I’m going to use as happy mail! I love and appreciate watching you, Gayle, as I learn so much from viewing the entire creative experience. Thanks for plowing through this one! ❤️
Omigosh, omigosh, omigosh!!! I am so deliriously happy that you have discovered Julie’s channel! Camellia Crafts popped up on my feed the other day and I have been binge watching all of Julie’s videos… I just love her… she makes me laugh and cheers me up…I love her accent… I made five of these folders… admittedly, I goofed on the first one and in fact I told her so… “No mistakes, only happy accidents” is her mantra…since then, I have made her Mini File Folders and her “Peek A Boo Tags”… I made at least 12 of each… she, like you, makes everything so simple to follow… She is a ray of sunshine in this currently cloudy world… Hugs to You…❤️❤️❤️
I admire your perseverance & you got her done...I knew you would!! 😁👍🏻 When you said this would be a fun thing for a gift or to send for Happy Mail, I was thinking it at the same time...great minds think alike!! ❤🤗😘
Good morning Gayle. So glad you were suggested that channel. I found it a few months ago and so enjoy it. I love it when she scolds herself and says just do it woman! Hugs💜💜💜Veronica
I found you not too long ago. You are so very creative, inspiring and talented. You are always full of new ideas and are a delight to watch. I have now completed several projects thanks to learning new ideas from you. Thank you.
Wow, Gayle, thank you so much! I just knew, you would love Julie. This makes me really happy - sending a huge hug! I'm a lazy commenter, but working on getting better, since it's a way to show the immense appreciation for you wonderful and lovely persons who make this world a better and happier place. And I struggled big time. I think, I messed up about three sheets of my not so pretty 12x12 until I got it right on the Tim Holtz one. But it's truly worth it. Such a cute little piece of ephemera.
Julie is a crack up and she puts so much fun into crafting. Both you and Julie are 2 of my favourite ladies to watch and craft with. Thank you so much for you videos and sharing them with us all. 💜
Good evening Gayle! You were right on this one hurting the brain! I had already tried following Julies video and was just too lost so I just gave up. I was excited to see you were going to show us your versions of instructions. I stopped and started, rewind, play again, over and over again! After six ugly pieces of printed paper, I gave up and just decided to sit back and watch your whole video. Around 24 minutes you started working with another sheet and then I got it!!! So, thank you very much for repeating the process several times. Because your right. It's such a cute piece and it's totally worth the process. Thanks again, aka Arlene
I love this project and thanks for sending me over to Julie's! She is a humorous crafter! I enjoyed her very much and subscribed after telling her you sent me! Thank you, my friend! ♥
I am just beginning my journey into journals. I am now going back into all your ephemera making videos. I have loved paper all my life. I make scrapbooks and have fallen in love with journal making. Your videos have become my new go to. I have been learning lots. Thank you for that. I also got to order that inker I asked you about.
Gayje, I knew when you turned the paper over and you went to the same side as when it was on the other side that it was not going to be right. You didn't hear me going " No, wrong side"! At least you are very gracious when you booboo! Everybody makes mistakes and it is not a problem. I really love this ephemera. It is so awrsome💖💖💖
OMG, you are too funny! I’m so glad to have found your channel, I absolutely LOVE listening to you work through your projects as I sit working on my own.
Gayle I was right there with you. Totally lost. You got it in the end. I save it to my favorites on my iPad then I can look when I want to. I have MS and this is one of my worst problems. Memory is not good. I know you weren’t having a great time at the time but you still worked it out. Thanks. Judy O.💝💝🤗🤗😍
Good Afternoon Gayle! I enjoy Julie’s channel, I am a subscriber of her’s. On my trial run I’m going to use a solid piece of 12 x 12 in case I mess up; could always turn it into something else. Have a great crafting day! 👍☘️☘️☘️
Good morning, Gayle! There are no mistakes; only happy accidents!!! When you flipped the page over, you reversed your cuts. Might be easier to use a non-directional piece of paper until you get the hang of it but you got it!!! Nice little project! Tfs! 💗🙂
I found this pocket flip flap folio on Julie's channel a few months back and LOVE it! You did a great job making them! Yours are beautiful, love the people in the pockets! Thanks for sharing. ❤️ Kate
0h, Gayle, you always make me laugh. I have the same problem spatially,. Was laughing with you, not at you. In the end you got it right! Love watching you.
Thank you sooooo much for showing us your learning process. I appreciate you so much. ❤️ Watching your videos inspires me to try projects that I originally had thought were too complicated for me. Thank for not editing the learning process out. ❤️
Hi Gayle, Oh girl you had me in tears, you were so funny😂 . I applaud you for your patience with this lovely project. I think you did an awesome job! I get confused an need to do over too. Hugs
I love that you are spacially challenged because I am too, lol! Really happy that it doesn't keep either of us from crafting. I am also a subscriber to Julie's channel and love her to bits. You are both a part of my day and I know I can watch when I am feeling down and be inspired to do something, even if it's cutting circles from my scrap papers 📃. Thank you for that 😊
This is a clever little project. To help when doing something new I make the first go around from plain paper an use a pencil to write top bottom front back etc. b for I start folding and cutting. I will go check out Julie’s channel. Thank you for sharing. 💜🐞
Hi Gayle!! This is a great little project....once you (meaning me) gets the hang of it!! I'm glad that your "happy accident" happened so that I could see you do it again!! I couldn't quite picture it until you did that!! Both worked out in the end!! Your folio looks so adorable with all the people on it!! TFS!! Hugs Liz:)
I have been watching Julie as long as I have watched your channel. I enjoy both of you...have learned so much from both of you and have gained so much confidence...I too am a fumble finger crafter and it is good to laugh through it...and what better way to learn....from the happy oops moments.
Gosh! How did Julie ever figure that out? Those engineer-type minds amaze me. Good for you for accomplishing it. I know it was hard. Makes my brain hurt too. But it really is a nice piece you made!
Your struggles with new pieces are humorous! You remain delightful and good natured with your attempts, but in the end you manage to salvage everything! Amazing!
Hi Sweet Gayle!! I hope you’re having a wonderful Tuesday. I am just becoming privy to the fact that my adoring husband bought the Spring Bunny journal!! I was so stunned I couldn’t stop shaking when he told me. I’ve been watching your videos faithfully for about the past year (including binge watching all the older videos) and enjoy you so very much. You have gotten me through some difficult days. I love watching to see what you create each day and thoroughly enjoy your conversation. Thank you! I sat my husband in front of the tv Sunday and told him he needed to see the latest journal you had completed as it was my very favorite you had ever made. So, he did. I told him “I would kill to own that journal (and I have never knowingly killed anything, I even let bugs out of the house) Well, he took it upon himself to make it his priority to purchase that journal! The poor man didn’t sleep that night worrying about it. I am still in shock he was able to be on Etsy at the exact moment you listed it, as I have tried to purchase your journals in the past with no luck. I am truly honored to own one of your works of art. And the fact my dear husband of 30 years bought it for me makes it even more special. 😀 I purchased your new art ware backpack and t shirt this morning! Can’t wait to wear them. You’re a true light in my day Gayle. Never change! ❤️Amy
That’s such a sweet story, he’s definitely a keeper. My late boyfriend never would’ve done something like that, of course he couldn’t figure out how to get on Etsy or anywhere online in a million years, so there’s that. 😒
Aw, Amy! So excited that you know the surprise! It is winging its way to you as we speak. Yep, that Chuck is a good guy! I couldn’t believe the timing either! The universe wanted you to have that journal and Chuck made it happen! I hope you’ll love it! Sending love and hugs to both of you! Happy Anniversary! 😘❤️
Love you Sweetheart! You’re not the only one who gets confused with all the folds and turns. 🙄 We’re both talkers, so maybe that’s connected? 🤣🤣 I can’t tie my shoes when someone is watching me, so I’m always impressed that you accomplish as much as you do on camera. 🥰
I really like this. I almost always do a trial run with white ( I have a 12 x 12 paper pad just for this), or at least a solid light color. Easier to see the folds for cutting. Can't wait to try this one.
Hi Gayle, I also enjoy watching Julie. 😊 When I do these kind of cuts I cut it at both sides of the score line . I hope that makes sence. The cuts are easier to get straight that way. At least for me. 😊 Hugs, Erika in Sweden
Julie is a kick in pants!! I just love her quirky attitude. You, Rachel at Roxy creations, and Julie are my go to’s for journal making. I just love watching you guys!! 💕
I liked this video. Don't worry about if you are making a mistake. You always make mistakes workout just fine. I might have to try this project.... except I will probably go through many pieces of paper trying to get it to come out right!
So happy you found Julie! She is hilarious and I just love her! I guess I discovered her about a month ago and have been hooked too!! Love this pocket you made...gotta try one soon! 😘
Hello Gayle, you found your inspiration for this from one of my favorite crafters, Julie is so fun to watch I always finish her videos with a smile. Thanks for sharing your take on her folio.
I folded and cut along with you as you did the first one. Oh poo, but as it turned out I ended up with the most beautiful part of the paper for my front cover. I love it. The pocket is now in the inside but who cares. It's lovely and will work just fine! I'm going to try to see if I can recreate that mistake again on another piece of paper!
So you are human too! lol. We all struggle with some things but persistence always pays off. On the one you ‘messed’ up & was trying to save, I was telling you to turn it over & it would work. Guess you heard some of us yelling that.! . This is a great idea. Love it. Hope I can do it.
A started watching Julie because she was so humorous and reminded me of you- except for her desk!😅. I think in that regard you 2 are polar opposites 😂😂😂 Personally, Julie is my work space soul mate!🤣 great outcome👏🏻👏🏻
It is as important to learn to stand up after falling as to learn to walk. Thank you for not deleting the mistake, but using it as a learning tool instead. The project is amazing, and well worth the effort. I can't wait to check out Julie's channel.
Hi Gayle! I did the very same thing the first time I attempted this little folio. I got it straightened out, and then glued it to the page sideways! Shhhh, don't tell anyone... they'll never know! Loved the video! ❤️
OMG! Julie is a stitch!! Did you see the part when she flipped the eyelet across the room! LOL! Didn''t fazz her. Great piece of ephemera. Looking forward to seeing your version.😊
You handled your challenges like a pro! You just kept right after it and now you know how to do it. Most impressive. I couldn't tell heads or tails of what was wrong but you knew immediately. Go Gayle!
I love Julie as well...I watched her do this project and my eyes crossed! She cracks me up when she says “don’t be daft woman”. You did great Gayle even with the one boo-boo. It is surprising on how many things you can put in it and it’s still relatively flat. Fun day! 👍🥰❤️
Oh Gayle….you had me laughing so much 😂 Thank you for always being authentically you!
Me too! So happy you're following and for the shout-out for Julie, she's such a hoot. You both are brilliant crafters, kind and so humorous. Julie is a hoot - love you both!

I think folding it before you cut it is the best advice, less confusing then. Love this one Gayle. Thanks for sharing, boo boo’s and all.

I like your mess ups it helps us. I have to watch some videos a few times because I mess up the first one always
I really like this. I almost always do a trial run with white ( I have a 12 x 12 paper pad just for this), or at least a solid light color. Easier to see the folds for cutting. Can't wait to try this one.
Hi Gayle,
I also enjoy watching Julie. 😊
When I do these kind of cuts I cut it at both sides of the score line . I hope that makes sence.
The cuts are easier to get straight that way. At least for me. 😊
Hugs,
Erika in Sweden
That was fun! It would make my brain hurt real bad! Off to check out Julie’s channel!
Love this flippy floppy folio. Glad you found Julie's channel. Love watching you both a great deal. Thank you
Julie is a kick in pants!! I just love her quirky attitude. You, Rachel at Roxy creations, and Julie are my go to’s for journal making. I just love watching you guys!! 💕
Thank you for being human and making happy accidents...I watched her video..subscribed..and had a great time..she's fun..I also love accents...
Good morning! This time change really has got me sleeping in! I need to get it together! lol! Blessings dear friend! 💕 stay warm!
Morning Julie! ❤️
Great project, Gayle! Thank you so much for sharing Julie’s RUclips. So generous of you!❤️
Neat!! I love ❤️ Tim Holtz products!!
Good morning! I just love having coffee and a video with my Gayle! This project is way over my head!! Haha but always enjoy everything you do!
Morning Angel! ❤️
Thanks for working it out and not trashing the video
A started watching Julie because she was so humorous and reminded me of you- except for her desk!😅. I think in that regard you 2 are polar opposites 😂😂😂 Personally, Julie is my work space soul mate!🤣 great outcome👏🏻👏🏻
Wow! How did Julie ever figure this out?? Great project Gayle! Thanks for sharing!!!😍❤
I love this! I also just found Julie about two weeks ago and I love her! She’s so funny to watch and does fun things.
Loved the project. It is great to have so many new ideas for the 12x12 paper. I look forward to see what's next. Have a blessed day.
Fun day! 👍🥰❤️
