I've had moments like this at mass, such a blessing and consolation
At the beginning of tbis video Mthr. Natalia gave some truly humbling commentary on just how oblivious we can be. We refuse to see our own sinfulness, as we judge others for their moral failings. A true accounting of the wrongs we have committed, and how similar those transgressions are to the offenses we castigate others for, would cripple our willingness to condemn others .
I definitely demonstrated the cowardice of Peter as he denied Jesus three times, when I do not openly profess my faith or when I refused to be vocal in the defense of Christian values. I am guilty of the ungrateful petulant attitude of the Israelites wandering in the desert,, when I focus more on what is lacking in my life, instead of showing gratitude for the abundance I do have.
Lord, I pray you give me the grace to be more reflective. Lord, I thank you for the sage insights of your daughter, Mthr. Natalia.
