There was a band called WarDrum that would play at pagan festivals back in the late 80's - early 90's. Something similar to this happened at their one show. The lady with the "hammer and drum" (that was their term, NOT mine) snapped the hammer and a chunk of it smacked the poor vocalist in his face. His face was bleeding but they (and the others) just kept going like it didn't happen.

So I had the incident correct just wrong piece of equipment broke. -1pt on my memory (give me some slack that was 35yrs ago 😂).
That specific drum could've survived more than thousand beats if the other's had chance to used it first but unfortunately it did not survive long enough from a warriors hand in the initial encounter.
