The bass, Geoff, arranged this one! He and the beatboxer, Layne, take turns. And yeah, Geoff is definitely my favourite bass singer, his voice always sounds so rich and full. He can go stupid low.
The bass singer, Geoff Castellucci, was the arranger for this piece. 99% of the time, either he or Layne Stein (the vocal percussionist) are the arrangers for VoicePlay's music. Whoever does the arrangement also directs and edits the video, and does the initial mix before sending the track off to Ed Boyer (who does the final mix for pretty much all the big a cappella groups). Eli (ryhmes with 'jelly') Jacobson, the bald tenor, does the lighting work for the videos. Every one of the guys in this group has a remarkable range, and vocal skills for days, but Geoff does tend to attract a lot of attention. Possibly because of his ridiculous low notes, as well as his highs (his range is roughly 5 octaves), but just as possibly because he also has a solo channel where he produces his own covers, filling in all the vocal lines himself. Those are also worth checking out, as you can more clearly get a grasp of his astonishing range. Believe it or not, Layne's range is actually pretty similar to Geoff's, although you seldom get to hear him singing since he's generally going nuts with the percussion.
Geoff and Tim basically have the same range. the difference between them is the timbre and techniques used. Tim has a growly bass, Avi has a smooth breathier bass, while Geoff has a rich and resonant bass. it makes Geoff's low range seemingly sound deeper than the others, but his just has a richer resonance down low. Avi's low range isn't quite as low as Geoff and Tim.
You almost need to view it again to see the visuals. Eli (ELee-the tenor) did the lighting and it’s awesome. Great reaction, and welcome to Voiceplay. They just dropped a new one, Dragonborn (from the game Skyrim). I’m still trying to process everything I’m hearing in that one.
Jeoff has a video talking about hearing Tim and actually learned from Tim how to sing that low without damaging his vocal cords. He praised Tim for it and stressed how easily you can damage your voice doing it incorrectly.
I believe that Tim of Home Free and Geoff have a very similar range. Where Geoff stands out is in the rich smooth tone he has. It sets him apart. Their latest, The Dragonborn Comes, from the video game Skyrim, is stunning. Geoff opens with his outstanding bass. Their arrnagements are outstanding, always. They don't always use these theatrical styles but when they do, it's always amazing.
Their ranges are identical (B0-A5). Geoff just uses a lot more subharmonics, which tend to be a bit fuller... and, Geoff's voice has a bit more resonance, to begin with.
@Vince Mcmahon, a lot of professional bass singers discount the use of subharmonics, too... I am not one of them. So, we're splitting hairs here. Geoff hits fry F1's all the time. He hits them with subharmonics, as well; Geoff is only good in full chest to F#1... still a low bass, no matter how you slice it. I prefer Geoff's voice, but I will play the devil's advocate, from time-to-time.
@Vince Mcmahon, I am all for subharmonics. I can hit C1 in chest and just learned how to use subharmonics. Now, I am trying to control them to do a C0 without any fry. When you get that low, it's very difficult. Oh, Geoff's resonance is even stronger than mine, even though I have a lower voice. His power below C2 is incredible.
I just watched an "updated" video of Tim Foust's lowest notes and the showed him doing an AO. I don't know much about these but I understand that that is on of the lowest notes? Correct me if I am wrong. But that is now Tim's lowest note.
Ooggie Boogie and My Mother Told Me are both great Voice Play songs. Geoff (Jeff) is an extreme bass. You can hear his low tones on display in 16 Tons and Misty Mountains, two of his solo acts. Love watching your reactions!
Actually... Peter Barber of The Bass Gang has said that Geoff holds one of the lowest recorded notes. So much talent in this group. Geoff and Layne do most of the arranging duties. Eli has a flair for creating backdrops.
Tim Foust, Geoff Castellucci, and Avi Kaplan all have very similar ranges. They each have their own personal styles and sounds. I think they are so close in range that it probably comes down to how well they're singing on any given day.
First time hearing them. When who ever hit that bass note it scared my cat so bad he ran in circles and tried to climb the wall. I swear he thought his ass was about to be had by some major predator. Lol as always you are my sunshine. Love you Van.
I'm glad you like this. It was arranged by the bass, Geoff. Most of their songs are arranged by him and the beatboxer, Layne. They also do almost everything around recording the music videos themselves, sets, costumes, lightning etc. You can read about it in the video descriptions. I really suggest checking out more of their stuff, like the last one they did, Dragonborn comes from Skyrim, My mother told me, The Wicked medley are really epic. Or try The little mermaid medley for something fun. Some members changed over the time and they often have guest singers join them. In this one you saw the current members, except Jose (bearded guy in the middle).
Cesar's first line at the beginning wasn't actually falsetto. He was letting a lot more air escape with the sound which leads to that softer, breathier sound. And you're correct, falsetto does tend to be a thinner sound without the richness he had in that line.
😄Yo Ho is not referring to the woman mentioned. per the Urban dictionary-it represents pirate laughter, "Fifteen men on the dead man’s chest, Yo ho ho, and a bottle of rum!, Drink and the devil had done for the rest, Yo ho ho, and a bottle of rum!". First appearing in a song called "The Derelict " in 1901 for a musical about Treasure Island.
Really enjoyed your reaction, it's always fun to watch someone hear Voiceplay for the first time! The lineup has changed in the last 18 months or so, their high tenor left for personal reasons, their baritone left to join the US Navy and sing with them. They've had featured artists since then. For musical theater, check out their Wicked medley For something silly, their cover of Bang! For something smooth, their cover of Tennessee Whiskey Then go for Geoff Castellucci (the amazing bass, who arranged this one) solo channel Smooth - Shenandoah Majestic - God Rest Ye Mery Gentlemen Thunder rattling - House of the Rising Sun Welcome to the rabbit hole!
Thanks for finally reacting to Voice Play! I enjoyed your reaction a lot and look foward to more reactions to Voice Play from you. As others have already given you great information about them in the comments I will tell you that they are a group from Orlando Florida that worked at Universal or Disney while they attended college in Orlando. They have a very different style and approach to acapella than Pentatonix or Home Free and are frequently called the theater kids of the acapella world. As already stated in other comments, they do all of their own production, costumes, lighting, and all of the arrangements are done by Layne (the beatboxer) and Geoff (the deep bass singer arranged this one). Geoff and Layne have been friends performing together since they were in junior high school and they have known Eli (bald high tenor-- name pronounced like "belly") for a long time too. They have had a few staff changes and were down to just the three of them recently (Cesar with the bad eye here is their newest member). They have recently worked with many guest singers (Jose Rosario in this one) as they are friends with some of them since their college days of working at the theme parks and are friends with the members of Pentatonix and Home Free as well. They appeared on the 4th season of "The Sing Off' competing against Home Free and unfortunately were eliminated after the 4th or 5th episode and Home Free went on to win season 4 of "The Sing Off" (Voice Play was very rough in the beginning and their lead singer "Honey" was not good for them as an acapella group so Home Free really did deserve the win at the time). They did a Sing Off tour with the other groups after the 4th season and there is a silly video of them having some fun with Home Free on You Tube "Survivor- Zombies vs Hillbillies". Voice Play has improved so much in the past 10 years and are absolutely amazing now. Geoff Castellucci has his own solo channel on You Tube that you may want to check out for more of his insane bass notes and incredible vocal range. He has a different technique for his bass singing than Tim or Avi using subharmonics for a different kind of sound ( I agree with you about his bass and he is my favorite of all the bass singers too). Some of my favorites that they have done are "My Mother Told Me" and "The Little Mermaid Medley" featuring Rachael Potter (long time Ariel/Little Mermaid at Disney World and features Geoff as Ursula). Enjoy this journey!!
Avi from Pentatonix and Tim from Home Free have both said that Geoff from Voice Play has a lower voice than they do. Geoff disagrees, but the other two insist that Geoff is capable of hitting lower notes than they can.
Oooh, I'm excited for this one! Voiceplay is one of my fav acapella groups, I was really hoping you'd react to them some day. Highly recommend checking out more of their covers, it's all good, tho my fav will prob always be the Oogie Boogie song. Since you're a Home Free fan you might also enjoy the sing-off they had with that group to the song Survivor. If you do check out more of their stuff you'll see members switch a few times. They've had some members come and go. Layne, Geoff, and Eli are the most consistent in all of it. They do also get a lot of guest singers, so there's a lot of vocal variety.
1. Welcome to the VoicePlay rabbit hole, Van! Try Bang!, Oogie Boogie's Song, Little Mermaid Medley, Greatest Showman Medley, My Mother Told Me, Man In The Mirror. Basically, go to their channel and click Videos. Can't go wrong. 2. Open your eyes during visuals these great. You missed the iconic sword capture, dude. 3. Geoff Castellucci (pronounced "Jeff", the bass singer, lower right) did the vocal arrangement, video, collaborated with Eli Jacobson (pronounced "Ellie", the bald guy) on lighting. 4. Geoff has his own channel of just him singing (plus other non-singing videos), often layering several 'Geoffs' both vocally and visually in his videos, which are usually accompanied, not acapella. Quite the treat for a bass enthusiast like yourself!
If you love the bass notes and the bell tones, you should check out their version of the Halo theme song. Geoff's 2nd note is a B0. Cesar (the guy in the white shirt) has some moments that give me goosebumps every single time.
Check out the Halo Theme (and listen to the message after the song -- you'll see the man referred to walk across camera rang in Boy Bands in 5 Minutes) and their newest video The Dragonborn Comes Skyrim. Beautiful and amazing vocalizations.
All 3 big acapella groups Pentatonix, Voiceplay and Home Free competed on a show called the Sing Off, and the guys from Home Free and Voiceplay are good friends and they have had several collaborations with them including Survivor, Just Sing and ACA top 10 movie Themes
Voiceplay is based in Orlando and most of the guys have worked at the theme parks, so that has a lot to do with their theatrically. They also do quite a few Disney, movie and musical theater songs as well as pop. As to the difference between Tim Foust and Geoff Castellucci, it has to do with the techniques they use to produce those lows. Tim tends to utilize growl and fry, and Geoff uses subharmonics.
Geoff from Voiceplay, Tim from Home Free and Avi from Pentatonix are the three big basses, thats given... all three of them not only go incredibly low but also have incredible ranges... Geoff stands out a little bit because he is also a big arranger - has arranged most of Voiceplay things, also some things for Home Free and some other stuff...
Thank you so much for defending the ladies!! LOL I had not made that connection until I heard you say it and I had to stop the video and just laugh at that point! Hilarious!
I hope you react to more VoicePlay! They are fantastic. My favorite group by far. When you were talking about Cesar's voice I was thinking just wait 'til Geoff jumps in. To answer your question; no they didn't kill the queen. This song is from Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
Great reaction! This can be a difficult song to react to. It's kind of a master class in how to build energy in an acapella song, and build it bigger, and build it bigger in a headlong rush to the ending. It doesn't leave reactors a lot to grab a hold of. However YOU did a great job of bringing something new with your reaction. Good job! I'm looking forward to what you react to next!
Yeah - VoicePlay! They are astounding. "Carry on Wayward Son," "Unchained Melody," "Warriors," "It Ain't Me," "Superstition," "21 Pilots Mashup," etc., etc., etc.
This video absolutely deserves a few Grammies. To really hear Geoff Castelsucci's really go low, check out his solo work: Over the Misty Mountains Cold, from the movie The Hobbit. The solo is 4 of him layered perfectly.
Geoff is the master of subharmonics!!! Tim has very similar range (maybe even deeper full chest voice), and Avi can growl just about as low, but no one can drop so smoothly into such full & rich subharmonics as Geoff. Mind blowing!
Geoff, the bass, is the arranger. He is on record as hitting A0, the lowest note on a piano. Check out their newest video, The Dragonborn Comes Skyrim. I'll be looking for your reactions! You might as well learn who's who. The bass, is Geoff, Caesar is one of the tenors, Elie is the bald guy - perhaps a countertenor, Layne is the incomparable beat boxer. The visitor is Jose Rosario, Jr. I wouldn't mind if he joined them but he's been busy - on Broadway and more.
There are videos comparing the bass ranges of Tim, Geoff and Avi here on you tube. I believe Tim still holds the record for the lowest note out of the 3 with his lowest being an A0. The biggest difference is the texture, timbre and technique they use in their lower ranges and their upper ranges both.
@@nikelodeon6852 He has a falsetto but that is not it. This is at the higher end of his range he just lets a lot more breath out so it sounds lighter. Don’t be rude
Hoist the Colors is a song from Pirates of the Caribbean and the song self is about calypso; the goddess of the sea. So the song itself is basically about the Pirates taking Calypso from the sea and binding her into human form thus the lines the king and his men stole the queen from her bed and bound her in her bones. So when they bound Calypso in her human form they were able to control her and rule over the Seas
Geoff and Tim Foust do have similar ranges, but completely different tones. Both are great. Tim's really low notes are more growl and breathy or covered, Geoff's have a little more edge that makes them a little more resonant and stand out more.
Thanks for your reaction, I enjoyed it. For me, what makes Geoff (bass) superior is the fullness, resonance and beauty of his tone. Layne (beatbox) can go lower, but he's the first to say "but it doesn't sound as good." He uses it powerfully in his beatboxing, though, which is always creative and interesting. Do check out the newest one, Dragonborn, you're going to love Geoff's opening.
Geoff readily admits he is not a base singer and is more comfortable as a baritone. I thinks this sets him apart because he works to get the low base right. Also, I think he is the only acapella base that can seriously belt out in the tenor range giving him a 5 octave range.
The song is from Pirates of the Carribean II. Its the story of Davey Jones and Calypso. You should watch the movie and it will make sense. The king is Davey Jones and the Queen is Calypso. (bound her in her bones. made her human and took away her power.) The rest of the story unfolds with the song. Fiddlers Green is the pirate home..
Geoff's voice...I think the word you were looking for is "subterranean" lol. Voiceplay are the theater kids of acapella. You can't go wrong with any of their songs. Geoff Castellucci also does solo low bass covers and has his own channel. Enjoy your journey down the rabbit hole!
Oh. It's a five star. So is their cover of Bang! VP takes on many different genres of covers. IMHO Geoff outdoes himself on If I were a Rich Man, in the last measure of so, going high to low. It's one thing sing a range across a phrase. It's another to do it within 3 notes.
Van and @LFR Family, I got introduced to your videos a little more on the political side a few months ago, but this one popped up today, and I really really really enjoyed it!
Home Free is my overall favorite group. And I (try to) sing some Tim Foust songs in karaoke. But I agree with you Geoff is the best bass. And its honestly not even close. The other bass singers can get as low as him but they don't sound as clear as he does at those extremely low registers. But with that being said, Tim Foust is by FAR the most versatile bass. Watch his video "Will you love me tomorrow". It will blow your mind what he can do.
You're gonna fall into the Voiceplay/Geoff rabbit hole. Bring water and snacks. Geoff(Jeff) has a 5 octave range. This isn't even his lowest. Listen to his cover of the Beatles "Blackbird". His solo stuff will slay you. 5 star rating for your reaction.
Not to be rude, but you need more VoicePlay in your life. (My mother told me) is a good one for bass. Geoff Castellucci also does solo songs too. You should check them out too. (Monster Mash) is a fun one.
To begin with you have GOT to go and listen to their new release the dragon born comes. The base also arranged this one and it is phenomenal. For fun you might want to check out Qofy’s reaction to this piece. He was so blown away he got up and walked away for a moment forgetting he was still in his boxers! Jose (center rear) was a last minute substitution but you would think they had sing together for years. He is currently in Hamilton and also a member of Rockapella. He also appeared in the Norse Saga My Mother Told Me. Geoff has some sustained low notes ( maybe E1 ) that sounds like the Gjallershorn and Eli rocks out channeling his inner Berserker. For a totally different vibe check out Boy Bands in 5 Minutes. It starts out with N Sync, segues into the Jackson 5, the Beatles, through the 90s Boy bands and finishes up with BTS. A lot of fun. Can’t Help Falling in Love With You and Bridge Over Troubled Water are both gorgeous.
Suggest you react to Voice Play's Halo Theme and The Dragonborn Comes (from Skyrim). I think you'll love them and Geoff goes totally subterranean on both of them. Geoff (the bass) arranged both the Halo Theme and The Dragonborn Comes. I'm not sure whether Geoff or Layne arranged this one. Whoever did it, it's fabulous. And definitely check out Geoff's solo work. I recommend Blackbird and 16 Tons.
Geoff Castelucci is their bass. While he has a really deep and rich tone, don't let that fool you into thinking he's a one-trick pony. The guy has a 5-octave range from B0 to A4-ish. Voiceplay are definitely the "theater kids" of acapella. You should definitely check out their Disney medley covers of Moana and The Little Mermaid. Eli (pronounced El-ee) is their high tenor, and you're spot on in your assessment of his own talent. The guy is just a phenomenal tenor, and you can tell from his style that he could easily sing anything from Opera to Metal. As far as arrangements go, it's usually Geoff (pronounced Jeff) and/or Layne (the beatboxer), although Eli sometimes contributes as well. If you want to spotlight Geoff's solo talent you should check out his cover of the Beattles classic "Blackbird". The 5-part harmony he produces and the range on display will leave you speechless.
Also, listen to their cover of "Carry on my Wayward Son". It will be more than you expect! All the bass singers, Avi, Tim and Geff are extraordinarily talented but Geoff is my favorite. Thank you for your reactions!
If you think Geoff has a deep voice in this voice, you need to hear... well... Geoff. In The Dragonborn Comes I think he gets a few notes lower than he did here. My favorite song to get an idea of Geoff's full range is Shenandoah. From what I understand he has about a 5 octave range.
In my opinion, the difference between Voiceplay, Home Free, and PTX is the position in the group of the person arranging the songs. Geoff is the only bass in any of the groups that is one of the main arrangers. Geoff knows his range and allows himself to go all over the place. His solo stuff really shows off his vocal range. The other groups seem to keep their bass locked down in the low range a lot more. I kind of wonder if that may be another reason why Avi left PTX. He can use more of his range by himself without stepping on any toes in the middle range. Like I said this is just my opinion.
1. Imo, it’s not so much the notes Geoff hits as it is the timbre of his voice. He has a very warm, rich voice and he knows how to use it, and that gives the impression that it’s deeper than usual when really it’s just full of warmth. I’m not a professional or anything, that’s just what makes sense to me… 2. You got me laughing with those comments about the “yo ho” thing 😆😆 3. Geoff Castellucci and Layne Stein (the bass and the beatboxer) take turns with the musical arrangements. If I remember right, Geoff did this one. :)
The bass, Geoff, arranged this one! He and the beatboxer, Layne, take turns.
And yeah, Geoff is definitely my favourite bass singer, his voice always sounds so rich and full. He can go stupid low.
@Josh Kirk It was definitely Geoff, and yeah, Layne did My Mother Told Me. It tells you who arranged each song in the description :)
My rule of thumb if I don't have time to look is the more Geoff is showing off, the more likely it is Layne arranged it.
@@dianeschluter9995 and the more Eli is using his rock voice, Geoff arranged it...
But he can also go up pretty high from that low deer sexy bass
EXCELLENT! Love the costumes! Great harmony! 100 diamonds out of 100!

He is deeper than the others...his lowest chest note is F#1 Tim is G1 Avi is Ab1.
I would say Avi is actually more resonant while Geoff has a perfect clarity the others don't at the lowest notes.
@@lowellmorton1708 No he didn't. It's an F#1 growl. U could avoid showing your ignorance if u did research before saying bs.
Best description I've seen. Thank you
couldn't agree more with you on that

4. Geoff has his own channel of just him singing (plus other non-singing videos), often layering several 'Geoffs' both vocally and visually in his videos, which are usually accompanied, not acapella. Quite the treat for a bass enthusiast like yourself!
You must add Bang! To your list.
Most definitely needs to check out the Halo theme!!! Omg!!!
All 3 big acapella groups Pentatonix, Voiceplay and Home Free competed on a show called the Sing Off, and the guys from Home Free and Voiceplay are good friends and they have had several collaborations with them including Survivor, Just Sing and ACA top 10 movie Themes
So glad to see you react to VoicePlay. Everything they do is a full production and sounds so good
Voiceplay is based in Orlando and most of the guys have worked at the theme parks, so that has a lot to do with their theatrically.
Geoff stands out a little bit because he is also a big arranger - has arranged most of Voiceplay things, also some things for Home Free and some other stuff...
welcome to VoicePlay! omg they r a journey, can't wait to see more reactions of them
This is a great song to start listening to Voice Play!! One of my favorites! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟⭐️🤩
Thank you so much for defending the ladies!! LOL I had not made that connection until I heard you say it and I had to stop the video and just laugh at that point! Hilarious!
You really need to check out the bass battles between Avi, Tim and Geoff!!!! Omfg!!!! Thank you, Van!!
"This has to be the deepest base I've heard" Their Oogie Boogie is gonna blow your mind. And make you feel some kinda way, is all I'm saying.
@ 4:22 you made me spit my juice! Then proceeded to laugh with tears. That was truly unexpected, thanks, I needed that laugh! 🤣🤣🤣😘
they are brilliant and they do most of the work themselves from the arrangement to the lighting and the set design ❤️🏴 ✨✨✨✨✨
More voiceplay Please!!!
I hope you react to more VoicePlay! They are fantastic. My favorite group by far. When you were talking about Cesar's voice I was thinking just wait 'til Geoff jumps in. To answer your question; no they didn't kill the queen. This song is from Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
Geoff can sing even lower than that. One of my favorite Groups. I know I mentioned it in a comment awhile back for doing VoicePlay. Thank you!!
I always need to watch their videos several times to catch all that is happening. Next check out The Dragonborn Comes from them!
I think you would love their new one The Dragonborn Comes - amazing!!
This video absolutely deserves a few Grammies. To really hear Geoff Castelsucci's really go low, check out his solo work: Over the Misty Mountains Cold, from the movie The Hobbit. The solo is 4 of him layered perfectly.
Also see Geoff (Jeff) Castallucci's Monster Mash and House of the Rising Sun.
Geoff, the bass, made the arrangement. He is a genius
Geoff is the master of subharmonics!!! Tim has very similar range (maybe even deeper full chest voice), and Avi can growl just about as low, but no one can drop so smoothly into such full & rich subharmonics as Geoff. Mind blowing!
oh hell yeah!!!!! i'm glad you enjoyed this and I hope you react to more Voiceplay! They're absolutely amazing.
5 stars man. Jump right on down this here rabbit hole. You ain't gonna have no kinda regrets. GUARANTEED!✝️🇺🇸🤠
5* Reaction. You got a new subscriber. You should definitely check out their brand new Dragon Born Comes cover which is fantastic.
the bass vocalists name is Geoff Castellucci. he also does some solo work as well that you should totally check out.
i love this song! And love this performance
Amazing! Thanks for this!
Yessir! I'm here for it, if you get a chance check out "misty mountains cold" by Geoff Castelluci, it's crazy.
Misty Mountains is great because it shows off his range
Avi's voice is like warm caramel. Geoff's voice is like drinking whiskey, hits you hard then you feel the warmth.
I love Voice Play in theatrical rock opera genre. I would love to see them produce and stage a rock opera.
Geoff, the bass singer, is also the arrainger of this rendition!
You will not disrespect our women... I don't care if you're a pirate or not...
Wait until he hears about Santa Clause.
Warriors, If I Were a Rich Man, Butter, Bang, My Mother Told Me... just a few of their great songs!
Geoff of Voiceplay has sung the lowest note, B0 (in a recorded professional production), in their cover of HALO
Cesar, the guy in white, is NOT singing falsetto. His vocal range is baritone/tenor.
He sang the first line in falsetto don't be dumb
@@nikelodeon6852 He has a falsetto but that is not it. This is at the higher end of his range he just lets a lot more breath out so it sounds lighter. Don’t be rude
@@janetdw That is literally falsetto...
Btw, Van, did you happen to catch wear Geoff went super low and the high?? His range is freaking amazing 🥰
His cover of Misty Mountains shows this pff perfectly, because all the singers in it are Geoff.
Geoff Castellucci arranged this. Love VoicePlay. They just released The Dragonbone Comes / Skyrim. #TheatreKidsOfACappela.
Layne the Beat Box is also the arranger for their music.
Song is from Pirates of the Caribbean 3....watch movies to get the meaning. Geoff......the Bass arranged this gem..
The information about the production, arrangement, etc... are always under their videos... Geoff did the arrangement on this one.
Geoff Castelluci has the sickest base out there. Watch his cover of "House If The Rising Son". He shows you his range and he has many it's amazing.
Friendly warning, when Geoff starts to sing keep your teenage daughters, wives and mothers away.
Many a delicate undergarments have melted away.
Oogie Boogie showcases this bassist range. Check it out.
Geoff the bass guy arranged, recorded(his wife), and edited the video
"MISTY MOUNTAINS" FROM THE MOVIE THE HOBBIT MOVIE PETER HOLLENS, FT. TIM FOUST, TIM IS BASS FROM HOME FREE
Geoff Castellucci does all the arrangement and everything
Geoff's voice...I think the word you were looking for is "subterranean" lol. Voiceplay are the theater kids of acapella. You can't go wrong with any of their songs. Geoff Castellucci also does solo low bass covers and has his own channel. Enjoy your journey down the rabbit hole!
Geoff and Laine arranges their music. Both Geoff and Tim from Home Free have a 5 octave range.
The so g is the story of how they bound the goddess of the sea to human form.
You closed your eyes and missed the bass go high lol
THE CLANSMEN by IRON MAIDEN live in RIO 🤘🏻😎🐯🍻
Home Free is my overall favorite group. And I (try to) sing some Tim Foust songs in karaoke. But I agree with you Geoff is the best bass. And its honestly not even close. The other bass singers can get as low as him but they don't sound as clear as he does at those extremely low registers. But with that being said, Tim Foust is by FAR the most versatile bass. Watch his video "Will you love me tomorrow". It will blow your mind what he can do.
A really good bass singer is Tomi P. Listen to his version of Hellfire from Disneys The Hunchback of Notre Dame. It's incredible
I love all 3 of the Basses, Avi, Tim, Geoff... but i think Geoff has them beat. His lows aren't only in the basement... they are crystal clear too.
Another reason Geoff sounds lower is because he uses subharmonics where the other guys mentioned usually don't.
I love both home free and Pentatonix but I'll take a Jeff and Eli combination over the other two any day of the week
Please check out Voiceplay's latest video. Geoff aka 'THAT BASS THO'. Takes it to another level...the video is entitled 'The Dragonborn Comes Skyrim.'
Geoff Castellucci the bass arranged this video.
I’m not a professional or anything, that’s just what makes sense to me…
2. You got me laughing with those comments about the “yo ho” thing 😆😆
3. Geoff Castellucci and Layne Stein (the bass and the beatboxer) take turns with the musical arrangements. If I remember right, Geoff did this one. :)
