It wasn’t a simulation. Everything we saw happened. Cap was frozen in ice for 70 years and they finally had found him and thawed him. They created the set so that when he finally woke up he wouldn’t be overwhelmed by the new time period.
Nice. As a lifelong comic book nerd, I wasn't sure how they would handle this one. They did an amazing job. And I for one really enjoy your post view discussion. It's fun to see each of you trying to piece together the story. As you've no doubt seen from the comments section, it's often difficult for 'veteran' MCU, and comic book people to hold back from clarifications. That being said, I do hope you read the comments as many do point out corrections as well...
Just discovered your guys' channel a few days ago and I'm enjoying all this marvel content! So fun to see a fresh perspective on these films I've seen a thousand times lol
They did awesome reactions to Harry Potter. That’s what got me into them, now they’ve just started on game of thrones. They’re a lovely couple to be fair
@@liontamer8961Exactly! HP was the one that hooked me into these guys. I love the fun they have and how happy they generally are. They as a couple are cool. Love them ❤
Why would you jump through all those hoops to come to a conclusion of a simulation when it's obviously just simple that he was frozen and was frozen for 70 years
Iron Mans Suits are not made out of Vibranium. He sais which kind of Alloy he uses but further down the Line you will find more about Vibranium and why so little people have it.
Captain America actually WASN’T government propaganda. The creators advocated taking action against Hitler, but the US at the time was against getting involved. If anything, Captain America helped build popular support among the youth to join the fight. What makes it not propaganda is that it wasn’t a regime that advocated a political position it arose from the population. :-)
bro😁 When I found out you are Brazilian I was very happy. I am also Brazilian and I love your channel, congratulations on your work, I love your videos
Love that you are watching Game of Thrones and Captain America at the same time , the Blond Girl kissed Captain America is an important role in Season 2 and beyond of GOT and also the old man from Harry potter also plays a big role on GOT,
You have already seen two other Avengers in Iron Man 2 and Thor. In Iron Man 2 you met Natasha Romanov, the Black Widow. In Thor, the archer above when Thor was breaking into the government building set up around Mjölnir (Thor's hammer). The archer is Hawkeye.
Captain America would make his first appearance in Captain America Comics #1 (1942) created by Jack Kirby and Joe Simon with the iconic cover of Captain America punching Adolf Hitler across the face. This was around 9 months before America joined the war as well, Both Simon and Kirby were Jewish so they took note of what was happening in Europe. This is the same comic you see the newsstand handing out to kids during the movies montage, prior to Captain America joining the war as a solider. Bucky would also appear alongside Captain America in this comic as well, a teenage sickkick to Captain America similar to Robin who appeared in 1940 as the sidekick of Batman. These Captain America comics would released under Timely Comics who would later change their name to Marvel comics under Stan lee with the release of Fantastic Four #1 (1961) kick-starting the Marvel era of comics. Depicted in a flashback within The Avengers #4 (March 1964). Captain America along with Bucky tired to stop Nazi agent Baron Zemo from stealing an allied prototype drone. As the plane took off they were hanging on to the outside. Bucky got stuck and kicked Steve off the plane which then exploded killing Bucky and hurling Captain America into the freezing North Atlantic. The Avengers #4 would be the first appearance of Captain America since the 1940s explaining why they stopped making Captain America comics. During this comic the Avengers would actually find Steve frozen in the ice and the character was brought back for the Marvel Era. Peggy would also show up in Tales of Suspense #75 (March 1966) shown in a flashback that explored Steve's time during WW2 both Civilian life and his time fighting as a solider. Peggy like the film was a war time love interest to Steve with Peggy joining the French Resistance as a field agent where she met a young Captain America.
Dance with me I absolutely loved your takes on the symbolism and philosophy in your discussion after the movie. I feel more enlightened. I wish you all the best in life and look forward to more of your conversations and thoughts after you watch a movie. ❤️❤️
In Russia there is an expression: "Tyazhelo v uchenii - legko v boyou" which means "hard training - easy fight". So Steve had trained and learned a lot. And, since he has super metabolism, he is not only a good fighter, but also a good student. Plus we can't ingnore his countless fights before upgrade) that's also experience, good or bad)
I like that they set this origin story during WWII because when the first Captain America comic books were made. The Red Skull was one of Cap's most often recurring villains, so I was happy to see him here as well. Cap was always one of my favorite heroes because of his humble origins and good spirit. You talked about the preview of the Avengers being too fast to follow. Be assured, there were people on the Internet who analyzed it frame-by-frame to try and see what was coming.
Sidenote: I cant remember if it was this video or not, but I remember you saying you wanted to feel something beautiful and cathartic. I just wanted to especially recommend watching "Everything, Everywhere, All At Once" a big popular movie within the past few years. Its literally on my top 10 both personal and objectively of all time, I guarantee you'll never laugh as hard as you cry in this film. You'll get a kick out of all the themes and would give a great analysis. Other great films a bit older for this purpose are "Bicentennial Man," "A.I" (its a super sad film, i could only watch it a few times in my life 😥) "Lovecraft Country" and "The Leftovers" are amazing as well and they're HBO shows that are peak emotional exploration on the human condition in completely different ways. Love you guys, keep truckin.
47:30, in this scene Red Skull chides Steve for still viewing himself as human. They never really explore this theme but over time you will see Red Skull is right. Steve’s ability make him physically far more than human. But it’s his good heart that keeps him grounded.
The Super Soldier Serum didn't just enhance Steve it fixed all of the things that were physically wrong with him. Now imagine what would happen if the person given the serum was already physically fit. One thing that is overlooked is that Steve's mind is also enhanced. So he can conceive of battle strategies on the fly and calculate the shield throw angles.
The "And the Fuhrer searches for trinkets in the desert" line is a reference to the film Raiders of the Lost Ark. "Welcome to Rivendell, Mister Anderson. If you cut down one orc, two more shall take it's place" - Hugo Weaving has played three iconic roles: Elrond in the Lord of the Rings, Agent Smith in the Matrix, and Red Skull in this film. Red Skull is disfigured because he forced Erskine to use an unfinished version of the serum on himself. Note that Bucky was found in a lab, not with the other prisoners. This will be important later. @43m - The Tesseract is unique. They were tapping energy from it and storing it in devices like you charge a battery. @1h12m - The zero g airplanes are jokingly called the "Vomit Comet". They do a zero-g arc the same as a thrown football. Whatever is inside falls at the same rate, so you appear to be floating. After 30 seconds they have to pull up to avoid hitting the ground and you feel 2 gees of acceleration. On a single flight they alternate 0 and 2 gees many times. The same happens on the Space Station (which I worked on). The Earth's gravity doesn't stop at the top of the atmosphere, it extends to the Moon and beyond, but gets weaker with distance. At the height of the Station it is 90% as strong as on the ground. The Station is falling, but also moving fast enough sideways to not hit the ground, making a circle rather than an arc. What's inside falls at the same rate, so it feels like zero gravity. @1h18m - His plane crashed in the ice, and his body got frozen. Because of the serum he didn't die, just remained frozen until they found him and could warm him up. In the real world, people can be revived after falling into cold water and their heart stops, and small animals and human embryos have been frozen and revived, but not full grown people (yet). Cryotherapy is the real world application of cold temperatures : my.clevelandclinic.org/health/treatments/21099-cryotherapy
Erskine said, "The serum decides what type of person you are like. A good person gets the great stuff, and the bad person gets the worst, like Schmidt gets the worst side effect." Iron Man suits are made of compounds of metals like get titanium and gold together or titanium and heat resistant metal of some sort. Captain America nickname is the man out of time
If you watched Thor with an eagle eye, you may have noticed a nod to Captain America. An above shot of the crater where Mjolnir landed looks like Captain America's shield. You can see it best right after Thor tries to retrieve the hammer but can't lift it.
This is not to sound mean but, I hadn’t seen your channel for 6mths-1yr and you both still seem so awkward during your commentary. It’s usually 90% goofy conversation not related to the movie. Just struck me as funny after all this time.😂
Dance with me. Love the thought provoking discussion. One thing that’s not mentioned in the Marvel movies but is true in the original comics is that Captain America is actually the smartest out of all the Avengers. The serum actually made him way smarter than Banner or Stark.

like i mentioned before, this is the movie you should have started with because David Banner (the hulk) was trying to replicate the serum and radiation that made captain America, but it went seriously wrong and he became the hulk there are only two recipients with the original formula, Captain America and red skull, but like the professor said, good becomes better, bad becomes worse, also on the outside (physically) anyway, on to the next one
You can see a large version of Iron Man's heart arc reactor being moved by Red Skull soldiers. Can't wait till you see the next Cap movie! And Avengers movies, such MCU goodness, oh and Guardians of the Galaxy movies!

Most of the early Marvel superheroes were people who originated from the five boroughs of New York. Daredevil is from Hell's Kitchen. Spider-Man is from Queens. The African American version of Kingpin in the 2003 Daredevil movie is from The Bronx. Cap calling himself "just a kid from Brooklyn" is another New York shoutout.
One of the major problems with cryonic suspension is that the water inside living cells crystalizes as a body freezes, and these jagged, expanding crystals rupture the surface of cells, killing them. I think it's interesting that Steve, not Dr. Erskine, mentioned that his cells are constantly renewing themselves (though this was just the explanation for why he couldn't get drunk). The same ability allowed Captain Rogers to thaw out intact from 70 years in the ice. 🧬🔬 Also, he crashed somewhere near the Arctic Circle, not the Antarctic. Everybody knows there's no aliens in the Antarctic base -- that's where the Nazis went after the war. And that's where they keep the Spear of Longinus [the blade that pierced the side of Christ]! 🤪 Seriously, though, near the beginning of the movie Herr Schmidt mutters something about Hitler digging for baubles in the desert -- a blatant reference to the Lucas/Spielberg epic RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK.
The conclusions you come up with crack me up. Your girl usually gets it. I wish you’d leave the movie on the screen while you’re talking about power rangers or egg salad 😏
A note on the "propaganda" aspect. Captain America was not initially government propaganda. He was first published before America entered WWII. The creators of the comic, Joe Simon and Jack Kirby (the same Jack Kirby that would later work with Stan Lee) were Jewish Americans and were intentionally trying to create support for entering the war
@sib1930 first: I'm not American, I'm Brazilian, living in Germany with family in the UK. Second, languages evolve naturally. Do you think your language (I don't know where you are from) is the same as it was 100 years, let alone 1000 years ago? Unlike Esperanto, and "fictional " languages like Klingon or Elvish, English was not invented. It developed. Have you heard what Old English sounded like, before William the Conquerer invaded in 1066? It changed English completely! The US is a melting pot of different nationalities, over 500 years, changes were bound to happen. Countries have every right to change their own language: the last reform in Germany was in 1996 You can read a little bit about changes in different countries: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spelling_reform Have a nice day, cheers
I recall hearing about a study from MIT on marvel characters in the 1990'd. Based on the Capt America comics, they determined he could lift a maximum of 30 tons.
Cap's strength level has fluctuated over the decades. Originally, he was "peak human" rather than superhuman. He could lift/press a maximum of about 800 pounds. Movie Cap is obviously stronger than that. But guys like Thor are way physically stronger than Cap is. Loki is an Asgardian physical weakling, and he's naturally much stronger than Cap.
Here we go, onto the Marvel journey! AND GoT at the same time?! Locked in. Quick note, I’m assuming y’all will eventually watch The Hobbit movies. So keep the Hydra spy (who took the cyanide capsule after Cap got the serum) in mind when you go to watch those movies… he may look a little familiar…
The Super-Soldier Serum has enhanced Captain America's strength, speed, agility, endurance, reflexes, reaction time, and natural self-healing ability to the peak of human physical perfection. His physical conditioning is superior to any Olympic athlete who ever competed. He is additionally an master tactician and field commander, and has achieved mastery in a variety of hand-to-hand combat styles, including boxing and judo.
Yeah but [SPOILER] is or at least should be stronger than him, because he was a boxing champion, a great athlete and had actual [spoiler] training before the serum and other...for lack of a better word let's say forced training (so nothing would be spoiled). Not to mention the other uh...metal enhancement (trying to keep this spoiler free).
41:25 Speaking of National Anthems... Here's the one where I'm from: *Our Land* 🎶 Our land, our land, our fatherland, Sound loud, O name of worth! No mount that meets the heaven’s band. No hidden vale, no wavewashed strand. Is loved, as is our native North. Our own forefathers’ earth. Thy blossom, in the bud laid low, Yet ripened shall upspring. See! From our love once more shall grow Thy light, thy joy, thy hope, thy glow! And clearer yet one day shall ring The song our land shall sing. 🎶 _(At least this is the translation to English I found and think to be very close to convey the lyrics)_ *Maamme* 🎶 Oi maamme, Suomi, synnyinmaa! Soi, sana kultainen! Ei laaksoa, ei kukkulaa, ei vettä rantaa rakkaampaa kuin kotimaa tää pohjoinen. Maa kallis isien. Sun kukoistukses kuorestaan kerrankin puhkeaa; viel’ lempemme saa nousemaan sun toivos, riemus loistossaan, ja kerran laulus, synnyinmaa korkeemman kaiun saa. 🎶 _(And of course with the words that are more familiar to me.)_ 😁
You all talk too much through movies. You miss important details then come up with wild theories you think are correct but you'd know are wrong if you were just paying attention.
it cracks me up when you guys think it's a simulation loooool but one flaw in the last scene tho: the big screen to fake the old time window view was super desaturated with old yellow tone, the real life view wouldnt be that at all, it still should be colorful even in the old days
I'm loving it like an old McDonald's commercial
It’s never wrong to be McGone, parapapapa 🍟
No simulation. He was frozen in the ice for 70 years. Serum kept him alive.
Yeah, this.
I just came here to write this. Cheers dude👍
"Simulation" Oh man🤣
So simple a child could understand?
Thus the birth of the word: 'Capsicle'.
He was frozen in the ice, and the serum kept him in suspended animation instead of freezing to death.
his body kept him alive in a coma like state under the ice for 70 years
gabriella was spot on
When nick fury told Cap he was asleep for 70yrs he meant that Captain America was frozen for 70yrs until they found him and unfroze him
Got confused as to how Caley came up with his 'it was all a simulation' theory but then i remembered what the channel name is🤣All love though
Sometimes he overthinks things when it's just simple, love him tho

A lot of your questions are answered in future movies

She is 100% correct!
Nice memory!!!
:-D
Nice reaction waiting for next marvel timeline
One of the major problems with cryonic suspension is that the water inside living cells crystalizes as a body freezes, and these jagged, expanding crystals rupture the surface of cells, killing them. I think it's interesting that Steve, not Dr. Erskine, mentioned that his cells are constantly renewing themselves (though this was just the explanation for why he couldn't get drunk). The same ability allowed Captain Rogers to thaw out intact from 70 years in the ice. 🧬🔬
Also, he crashed somewhere near the Arctic Circle, not the Antarctic.
The zero g aircraft is named the "vomit comet", according to the Astronauts.
The ride on that plane that simulates zero gravity, nicknamed the Vomit Comet costs $5,400 per person.
They invented the language. They are saying it the right way. We Americans are the ones that bastardized the language.
to be fair, language is adaptive and evolves.
@@nicolao.dos.santosBut you Americans have no right to change it
@sib1930 first: I'm not American, I'm Brazilian, living in Germany with family in the UK.
Countries have every right to change their own language: the last reform in Germany was in 1996
You can read a little bit about changes in different countries: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spelling_reform
Have a nice day, cheers
I recall hearing about a study from MIT on marvel characters in the 1990'd. Based on the Capt America comics, they determined he could lift a maximum of 30 tons.
Cap's strength level has fluctuated over the decades. Originally, he was "peak human" rather than superhuman. He could lift/press a maximum of about 800 pounds. Movie Cap is obviously stronger than that. But guys like Thor are way physically stronger than Cap is. Loki is an Asgardian physical weakling, and he's naturally much stronger than Cap.
30 tons or one fancy hammer.
If y’all had a chance to pick between the super soldier serum and the iron man suit which would you pick
they were transported to a random point in the universe, the tesseract is just like a teleporter
y’all should react to “book of eli” by Denzel Washington
Here we go, onto the Marvel journey! AND GoT at the same time?! Locked in.
Quick note, I’m assuming y’all will eventually watch The Hobbit movies. So keep the Hydra spy (who took the cyanide capsule after Cap got the serum) in mind when you go to watch those movies… he may look a little familiar…
esse "eu sou brasileiro" eu nao esperava nunca e sou inscrito de um tempo ja kkkkkkkkkkkk
Me encanta vuestra reacción me hace vivir la misma sensación que cuando las vi la primera vez 😍
Yes!!!! Quick MCU follow up!! Lets goo!!
-Dance with me-
Damn y’all’s upload schedule is really feast or famine lolol
The guy playing Zola is Toby Jones he voiced Dobby
Would be nice to see Blade Runner 2049 reaction 😍
Here's the one where I'm from:
*Our Land*
🎶 Our land, our land, our fatherland,
Sound loud, O name of worth!
No mount that meets the heaven’s band.
No hidden vale, no wavewashed strand.
Is loved, as is our native North. Our own forefathers’ earth.
Thy blossom, in the bud laid low,
Yet ripened shall upspring.
See! From our love once more shall grow
Thy light, thy joy, thy hope, thy glow!
And clearer yet one day shall ring
The song our land shall sing. 🎶
_(At least this is the translation to English I found and think to be very close to convey the lyrics)_
*Maamme*
🎶 Oi maamme, Suomi, synnyinmaa!
Soi, sana kultainen!
Ei laaksoa, ei kukkulaa,
ei vettä rantaa rakkaampaa
kuin kotimaa tää pohjoinen.
Maa kallis isien.
Sun kukoistukses kuorestaan
kerrankin puhkeaa;
viel’ lempemme saa nousemaan
sun toivos, riemus loistossaan,
ja kerran laulus, synnyinmaa
korkeemman kaiun saa. 🎶
_(And of course with the words that are more familiar to me.)_ 😁
You all talk too much through movies. You miss important details then come up with wild theories you think are correct but you'd know are wrong if you were just paying attention.
You must be new here.
it cracks me up when you guys think it's a simulation loooool
but one flaw in the last scene tho: the big screen to fake the old time window view was super desaturated with old yellow tone, the real life view wouldnt be that at all, it still should be colorful even in the old days
Why they are not watching in release order ?
So excited to join you guys on this MARVEL journey, I love how attentive you guys are as well, amazing reactors!
If we’re exploring actual root-cause, they’re called The Avengers because Stan Lee thought the name sounded cool.
Damn call of duty world at war, lol haven't heard that in years
Hot take: Cap's movies are the best in the MCU. Sorry, Iron Man.
Cuxhaven! Been there :)
They don't say Thompson's. They say Tommy guns. 💢
17:30 oh she is smart!
