Hey man, so this is our second year recording our hunts. This year we are going to get some new gear and one thing being an external mic. So my question is would you recommend buying something like the recorder you show in this video or a shotgun mic such as a Rode?
Great Advice , do you find that the amount of time it takes you to respond to a comment matters ? Or do you think the viewer doesn't care that it took you 30 mintues or 3 hours to respond ?
I don't think it matters. Most people don't even expect a response. I think if people want to fallow you they will regardless of responses. They may appreciate it, but it's not the main reason they would follow your videos.
Sean, I created hunting and fishing channel in WNY around 6 months ago. I see that you mentioned running a Facebook page and I was wondering if it would be of good interest to possibly run an ad for my page to try and create some exposure. Thanks Sean for all the help from this video and God Bless!
You could definitely gain some exposure doing it that way, or also through running RUclips adds, but the amount of subscribers you will likely gain from running adds won't necessarily pay off. In that sense, you get a very low return on investment with that kind of thing. What you really need to do is hit the RUclips algorithm and create videos that they will promote for you when you upload. That is how you really gain views and followers.
I use Adobe Premiere Pro. I used to use Sony Vegas. They are expensive though so if you are just getting started you may want to go with something designed for the consumer like Adobe Elements.

RUclips is tough to be successful in in my opinion. You have to be dedicated. A lot of people are making hunting videos so it's hard to stand out. It's basically a grind that you have to stick with. I watched your great American Outdoor show video. My viewers always complain if I put music in my videos so I end up leaving it out. Your viewers may be different, but mine don't seem to like it.
