He'll probably wreck it and call the TGPD. Plus Tanner Foust (The driver in the Rally Fighter in this video) is a rally driver/ drifter/ professional racer.
Tanner also is a stunt driver and a World Record holder.

I met stan lost in Alaska with one of his airboats. that guy didn't have anything when he was lost. just the boat. helped him out for a night then my uncle drove him out. He said he would send shirts for helping him.Goofy guy, told me to watch this when I got home.. Vietnam Vet, much respect for that. He was at least a few hundred miles from his hunting party. he was pretty damn lost.

The prop tips were probably near the speed of sound. you can tell when the tips of a prop have exceeded the speed of sound by the sound they make. that distinctive sound a variable speed prop aircraft makes while in a steep dive. That sound that you hear is actually little sonic booms.
this was really fun to watch! not like those unfair races you see most of the time, the guy who presents this really did a good job, by taking it seriously!

At around 3:50, the host asked, "Is it worth 60 grand?" Is he talking about the air-boat or the car he's in? If it's the latter, I want to know how he got a 100 g car for 40 percent off (probably more saved if he got the extras).

Wow, this is the first and only Top Gear US that has had the epicness of the UK version. Tanner is an awesome host worthy of the role and this video was truly awesomely American. I just wish they could get rid of the other two guys. Give it all to Tanner. Badass video.
I think Tanner is probably the only guy on this show that deserves respect. For his achievements and for his skills.
I'm not a Top Gear USA fan but this was pretty enjoyable! Maybe if they did more stuff like this I'd give it another shot.
The Rally Fighter isn't $60,000 like he said, it's $99,000 and you have to go to California to build it yourself in their facility

If the propeller was spinning at the sound of speed there would be a continuous sonic boom. not to mention propellers lose efficiency dramatically when they exceed the speed of sound.

You know, I really like TGUSA, I really love seeing the American take on the British challenges, and plus, whether or not the facts are true, they do test a lot of cars that TGUK wouldn't even consider testing, case in point being the Cadillac CTS-V and Ford Raptor.

This was cool. Awesome grass roots manufacturer, Tanner can certainly drive and the guy in the boat must have been certain his life cover was paid up and the cat was left plenty of food!

Ok, ok, even though this was staged it's a sick ass exhibition. For example, at 1:16 the dude in the air boat "driving" between those signs? Unreal. That whiplash looked incredible. I had no idea an airboat could drive on land like that.
As far as the guy in the Rally Fighter actually driving like that with no helmet? Looks real enough to me. For example, at 5:20 you see that piece fall out of its mount? I don't think that was staged lol. That was pure impact.
Honestly, all strapped in the racing harness inside a rollcage, even with no helmet, I'd feel MUCH safer than dude going 80mph through swamps and *over land* in the airboat, especially the way he was whipping that thing. All high up in the air, no rollcage, tiny little low backed seat (and no helmet).... and he came close to flipping it at least twice.
Next to that, wearing no helmet in the Rally Fighter seems like no big deal.

Why do they try to pass this off as real? It's clearly scripted. I think the important part is seeing these two machines in action, but it's super annoying that they're passing this off as if they were actually racing. Dude in the Rally Fighter isn't even wearing a helmet ... I highly doubt his producers would have him racing without proper equipment. Yay for the vehicles. Boo for the presentation.

There are two types of people (and vehicles) in this world; those who are built to DRIVE, and those who are built to CRASH. I guess you guys crash a lot huh? "There's no way that's possible without a helmet, whaaan-sniffle." The only thing that's fake here is the people(?) who need a plastic bucket on thier head. The guy was clearly, clear headed at speed.
To be honest. This show is getting better and better. Give it some seasons and im sure it will be better than today.

Doge Master raptor has a premuim for the demand and with all the goodies its 50k so if your going to keep it stock then go for the rally fighter, but if your going to mod the raptor is a better platform.
I personally would have to go with the Rally Fighter b/c it's so different. It would definitely be a lot easier to get around town in the smaller (but just as capable) Rally Fighter as opposed to the Raptor which is 7 inches wider than the F-150. And for those who don't drive trucks, 7 inches wider means you're most likely gonna be parking in the back of the parking lot instead of trying to squeeze between the Dodge minivan and the Honda Civic. Thats a good comparison question.

The Rally Fighter is a superior off-road vehicle. If you were to jump a Raptor the same way you can jump a Rally Fighter, it would destroy the truck and break your spine from the impact. The Raptor is a fancy F-150, the Rally Fighter is a serious off-roader .

Josh Scott actually, the trophy trucks are the superiors. All though those are tons of money. So for the budget, the rally fighter is the closest superior offroad vehicle you can get for the least amount of money

US version is coming into it's own. It helps that it has a slightly different format now and doesn't go to the UK features (Power Laps, Star in a Car) as slavishly, although it would be nice to see the Stig from time to time.

what amazes me is, Tanner isn't using a harness or helmet. Just a simple shoulder strap and hair gel.

only if you have the TV package that includes it. Its one of the higher end options from what I remember to get BBC America. And then were like 4 or 6 months behind in getting to see the new UK top gears for w/e reason.

he got bored with having to stop and wait for tanner to catch up so he went home, took a nap but forgot his hat, then he went back home but at that point he liked the cap better :)

The TGUSA aren't that bad to be honest, sure they aren't as entertaining as the UK ones. I like the challenges, that is what I watch TopGear for, and I liked this. People just need to get off their high horses and accept that not everyone is like them and some people do actually enjoy this.

I don't see the difference: if you almost have the same name of a show and generally speaking you do the same stuff. People will compare it, no matter how long it has been around.

This is the first time Top Gear USA did something i felt was wholly american and yet great fun. More original challenges like this, PLEASE.

Nobody forces you to watch a U.S. or U.K. video so feel free to ignore the one you don't like instead of watching it and saying the other is better.
Except for the obvious editing to make the finishes look close (which UK does, also), and the lack of humor, this segment was actually pretty good. Thumbs up.

The best part of this video is where the thing is defeated by 4 inches of standing water. But that part has been cut.
