Hoops schedule of 18 games is easy for a 16-team conference if you set up 4 pods of 4 teams - 6 = H/A vs 3 podmates; 12 = 1 each vs all others (alt H/A every other year).
Pods: West: UA, ASU, UU, BYU; North: CU, KSU, KU, ISU; South: OSU, TT, BU, TCU; East; UH, UC, WVU, UCF.
Football schedule of 9 conference games is similary easy with the pods. 3 = vs podmates (alt H/A every other year), 6 = vs 2 from the other 3 pods (rotate thru and alt H/A vs each will ensure 1 H & A vs all teams in a 4-year span).

Huge proponent of to stop ranking these football teams till week 5. I realize they have to do it for hype and talking points.

To be fair., the playoff committee doesnt rank them until mid October. The playoff committee ranking is the one that matters.
