This dude stays sooo calm and thinks and talks thru his time while making good moves. That is so cool. That’s where I’m trying to reach. It takes a desire first and then practice.
I like how I think two videos ago for this speedrun specifically you said you wanted to pay more attention to your time, but very quickly reverted back to the explanatory and educational habbits. I'm not complaining, just an observation. Old habbits really die hard.
I've watched every video in this series and as someone will little free time, it's been a great series and well worth the time! Thanks for making these 😊
An idea for making the ratings more consistent is to make the rating search +-50 or even +-25 so that the ratings stay consistent in each episode. Nevertheless, I am loving this series and keep it coming!!
im sure someone has said this already, but you should continue until your first loss. then start over again! not only would it be epic to see how far you can get, but the real magic is in knowing that we get to start all over again! :D :D
This. Because the speed run series is the only thing I look forward to as far as RUclips goes. I really only open the app to see if the next one is available haha
31:45 forgot to show this after the game, I was interested in seeing it. I was also going to point out the rook that could be captured this game, but someone else already did
Eric doesn’t post a speed run in a week or so and am now down 70 elo points! You see Eric, our success depends on you lol. We are okay losing sleep when your release content but please keep this coming!
First opponent played super solidly. Questionable opening, but they held on a long time before that rook blunder, which i feel like came way later than expected given opponents rating. I'm all for giving props, and first opponent gets em.
37:11 In the last game, knight takes rook was missed here only to fork attempt later. Is there a reason you did not take here? While watching i thought it was a positional strategy but then the fork attempt later makes me think maybe missed?
41:00 another thing I notice is many of your opponents play their time like it's blitz chess and end up maybe missing moves they might have seen if they took more time. I say this as a low rated player that does the same thing.
At 40:00 If you would have played the move rook D8 and your opponent then takes the pawn you chose to protect wouldnt you have been able to make a discovered attack on the rook by attacking the queen with your knight?
I think the most instructive thing about this series is Eric always having way less time than his opponents. His opponents always play too fast and miss basic tactics. Eric doesn't mind investing a couple minutes to find the knock out blow.
Hey, really like your new shirt. You look much better with a bit of colour…. And thank you very much for teaching me so much that I did not know about chess.
Almost blew up your winning streak but excellent play thanx! 7:31 But you spend way too much time with moves like rook to C1 which is pretty obvious here even for a 1500 player like me. I reckon you must be close to 2500 Can you pls tell me the openings I should avoid as 1500? I know I should leave the sicilian defense alone until I’m 2000.. if i’ll ever be ;)
In the final game, you had a chance to take the rook with the knight, but instead you went to your dream square. Was this an oversight? Or was the rook somehow poisoned?
When you're playing an international master, you blitz out the first 10 or so moves in 30 seconds, and then he suddenly pauses for 5+ minutes... then you know you're in BIG BIG trouble 😂
Nothing has improved my sub 1000 elo play more than this speedrun. Best teacher of Chess hands down. Thanks for all you do.
its such a treat to log into youtube and find a fresh speedrun video from Eric!
Oh no my sleep schedule
What are you talking about? I always get a good sleep while watching/hearing eric. :)
I watch these to fall asleep so mine is a real "oh no my sleep" in Eric sarcastic fashion.
oh no, my bunghole
Oh my gosh so true.
I aim for bed by 10:30 and up by 6:30.
It’s currently 12am 😢😂
😂
I love your dedication on putting captions and time marks for every game. Thanks for all of your videos!
This dude stays sooo calm and thinks and talks thru his time while making good moves. That is so cool. That’s where I’m trying to reach. It takes a desire first and then practice.
Or playing since you were 4yo.
37:10 Could have just captured the rook Nxe4 lol. But you were tunneled on Nd3. Thanks for the great content
Eric's mind was made up on Nd3 before opponent moved 😂
oops!
Nice catch.
Was laughing about that as well. He was so excited about getting the octoknight he didn't even want to trade with the rook :)
Crazy thing is Nxe4 is only marginally better than Nd3 according to Stockfish 😅
This is the slowest speed run I’ve watched, and I absolutely love it.
I like how I think two videos ago for this speedrun specifically you said you wanted to pay more attention to your time, but very quickly reverted back to the explanatory and educational habbits. I'm not complaining, just an observation. Old habbits really die hard.
Free rook at 37:11 😮
Yes! He even missed it on the review -- just zapped right through that moment.
Even the pointer was hinting there too😂
more an exchange than a free rook
Start drinking coffee instead of tea 😂
I guess the octopus was just too appealing :D
The drip is fire dude.
Absolutely!
I want that shirt
came here to say this
This means his shirt is cool
@@LFSPharaoh😂😂
I've watched every video in this series and as someone will little free time, it's been a great series and well worth the time!
Thanks for making these 😊
Frozen Rosen 😂 42:21
Frosen Rosen
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Chess demystified! Ive watched every video. Opens the hood of the car for everyone who ever wondered what goes on in the mind of master player
Having this series after finishing all of Naroditsky's speedruns is a real life saver.
An idea for making the ratings more consistent is to make the rating search +-50 or even +-25 so that the ratings stay consistent in each episode. Nevertheless, I am loving this series and keep it coming!!
Nice shirt!!! Thanks for these videos. I'm loving the series
37:14 I was a little curious why you didn't take the rook...
same here
The perspective of an octopus knight was simply too good pass up 🐙
I just started playing a month ago and this series has been my education. I'm blundering about around 700 but having lots of fun.
Thank you eric for being who you are. so happy to see you.. every time !😊
Eric, you’re so patient! Well played.
Frozen Rosen missed one move win at time 37:10 and again in the analysis 🙂
This is the slowest _speed_ run I've ever followed. Lol love you Eric
"24 seconds should be enough time".
If only I could look at my clock with the same confidence as you
The last one is amazing
im sure someone has said this already, but you should continue until your first loss. then start over again! not only would it be epic to see how far you can get, but the real magic is in knowing that we get to start all over again! :D :D
This. Because the speed run series is the only thing I look forward to as far as RUclips goes. I really only open the app to see if the next one is available haha
But how fun it is to watch the beginners mess up their games just when it is starting to get interesting?
Kudos to opponent number 3, TheWiky! First real time scramble of the series!
31:45 forgot to show this after the game, I was interested in seeing it.
I was also going to point out the rook that could be captured this game, but someone else already did

You see Eric, our success depends on you lol. We are okay losing sleep when your release content but please keep this coming!
Bro has been teaching us very well how to get into time trouble every single game 💀
Eric explains things so well. Now only if I could remember any of it!
First opponent played super solidly. Questionable opening, but they held on a long time before that rook blunder, which i feel like came way later than expected given opponents rating. I'm all for giving props, and first opponent gets em.
Good to jump into a fresh speedrun!
That last game was really good.
Glad to catch this episode this early! Nice content
37:11 In the last game, knight takes rook was missed here only to fork attempt later. Is there a reason you did not take here? While watching i thought it was a positional strategy but then the fork attempt later makes me think maybe missed?
Eric that shirt is sick
this is great, it's quite hard listening to people who are talking fast or adding a lot of irrelevant details so this is great learning material
As I said on the previous episode, it's good to see how players of my level can actually give Eric some problems and find good moves.
very nice, thank you for these~!
And this is the episode you beat my rating haha, really appreciate the content Eric!
Simply put. I just wanna say I love that shirt
love Eric's speedrun. i'm trying to climb the rating ladder too ;)
Kitchen Sink Attack lmao, we need a theory video on that!
love this speedrun content!
That shirt is the bomb !!! 💣💣💣
That shirt is wild.
41:00 another thing I notice is many of your opponents play their time like it's blitz chess and end up maybe missing moves they might have seen if they took more time. I say this as a low rated player that does the same thing.

I love your content. This is better than Gotham
I think the most instructive thing about this series is Eric always having way less time than his opponents. His opponents always play too fast and miss basic tactics. Eric doesn't mind investing a couple minutes to find the knock out blow.
I am lovin that shirt. Thanks Eric
@32:33 Ng4 instead of BxB. then d7xb4,Nxf7,Kxf7,Qh4+ then recapture B4. now white cant castle or if he can it will be a messy pawn.
How is nobody talking about the "Kitchen sink attack" chapter name😂😂
Eric with ten seconds left: That's really enough time for checkmate. Me: don't manage to checkmate in 30 minutes
Hey, really like your new shirt. You look much better with a bit of colour…. And thank you very much for teaching me so much that I did not know about chess.

Can I say how happy I am that you dropped BetterHelp like the hot piece of garbage they are as soon as you had the chance? Well done.
god i love these long vids
Awesome content
Great series, I really enjoy watching it. I would love to see you play a Budapest Gambit in one of the next speedrun videos.
In game 3 At 30:32 couldn't you have taken the pawn on e4? Bxc3 then Nxe4
18:55 praise Lord Gamblor
1:07 what about Nd2 and if bishop b4 pinning, c3?
I look forward to this series so much. Everything else on RUclips is filler. The speedrun is all that matters.
Am I watching Rosen or Roadhouse!? The world needs more Rosen in these shirts! ❤
LOVE the shirt !
This has motivated me to do my own speedrun! I'm doing beginner to intermediate and crushing noobs!
Schmeric Schmrosen’s Schmeedrun
Schush
"I'm being tempted by the gambit gods" - will have to remember that one...
When can we get a Polish opening
Nice shirt. Matches the poster in the back :)
On 37.11 what was wrong with Nxe4? 🙃
Looks like I’m playing the bedtime gambit
FROZEN ROSEN!!!
37:11 opponent be like: oh no my rook, call an ambulance, but for me of course
Watching these for a second time and I’m still nervous everytime your time gets low even though I know you win😂
Will you be covering some of the Candidates games? That would be awesome.
Good idea, would love it
always at a perfect time. lets goooo!!! :D :D
37:10 take the rook?
Glad you got some sleep despite those storms last night. So jelly lol
Oh no my like button is smashed!
I look forward to these episodes more than seeing my family.
When you play with someone who knows all your moves 😂😂
"I'm going to try and be efficient with the mating."
Same....
"It's actually kind of fun to calculate"-Eric Rosen
omg!! Is that shirt Eric Rose merch? Or lichess merch?? I love it!!
In the final game, you had a chance to take the rook with the knight, but instead you went to your dream square. Was this an oversight? Or was the rook somehow poisoned?
This guy is great 😊
love the shirt eric
Erick, You’re awesome! Dude 👍🏾👍🏾
Well played with the babysitter gambit
That’s a Walrus Studio shirt from Indonesia, must have bought on his recent trip, lol. 😆
That 2nd game was beautiful
Love the shirt !!!
okay i thought i was crazy and maybe there was some tactic which is why eric didnt take the free rook but now i see it was just a blunder lol
I was extremely happy I found the fork quicker than you, but then I was so sad it didn't work :D
My heart that last game, thought you were gonna lose by time 😅
When you're playing an international master, you blitz out the first 10 or so moves in 30 seconds, and then he suddenly pauses for 5+ minutes... then you know you're in BIG BIG trouble 😂
Oh no my heart attack
Agadmator was clapping to see you play b4!
