You can target a harrier from all aspects with an aim-9b it’s so darn hot with all those extra exhaust ports. Even though it runs at under 700 C.
The advantage of the harrier is how easy it is to notch using it, notching is appearing static to a radar so it doesn't detect you, in normal planes this is done by turning 90°, but in the harrier you can just press the hover button

Just made a video on this goober. You're completely right on the whole choosing the fight part. If any player comes at you, you just gotta try and get that aim120/9m off and spam countermeasures. Still have yet to get a kill while in vtol lmao

Its also busted in ground RB. Its at 12.0 with thermal pod, x4 AGM-65G. Mavericks are worse than Kh-38 but harrier is a better airframe, so it evens out a bit i think. Yet Su-25SM3 is at 12.7...
yeaa... but at least 12.0 is still top tier tanks not like you can face lets say 10.3 SPAA

I don't see any problems or issues with the AV-8B+, I enjoy the plane overall, in fact... More often than not, I tend to have an ace when fighting 13.0, even more so against my own BR and 11.3, in which at 11.3 I am closer to getting 8 kills overall each match.
But that is also because I don't fly with the pack of planes leaving the airfield at the start of the match. I tend to choose my own path and do my own thing which always works out for me in the end.
In many cases, I see AV-8B+ players in Air RB that instantly dies, don't know what they are doing or how to use the plane effectively enough to stay alive. In which using VTOL (Otherwise known as Viff or Viffing) can be a great way to win a fight. Other things I have picked up is that yes, you do not have a DL on the plane but this is not entirely a bad thing :) Use ACM only, do not have your radar on while leaving the airfield. This will help you stay hidden for most of the match.
When using ACM, make sure the enemy is alone, or if they do have a wingman, launch at both. Then immediately turn to another set of enemies. This is how you get peak performance, tho in the last clip you have, the enemies seemed to be unaware of what you were and ignored you.... Even tho they should all target YOU because you are the strongest plane in that fight. That is on them
absolutely... plane is very good; but requires a lot of positioning skill to perform correctly... however there are many enemies at 11.3 that dont even have launch detection, making it very unenjoyable facing aim120s.
what you state of turning off radar is a crucial key difference in flanking enemies at the start of the match that sadly most people dont ever do... a lot of times i just guide myself towards the enemy based on what my RWR is picking; yet the enemy being still unaware of my position
@@BiasedThunder Turning off the radar makes it so you do not ping the enemies, this of course makes it easier to hide at low altitudes.
And yes, I do agree that it is disgusting that it gets to face 11.3, like... There are now essentially 4 planes at 12.3 that is OP in a downtier and that is 2x AV-8B+ (USA - Italy), Sea harrier FA 2 and F-15A... These planes should in reality be locked to facing 11.7 as a downtier, not 11.3 in my opinion. As 11.7 has a fighting chance, 11.3 is just a big bunch of F-4S players at level 10 that has no idea what they are doing

N U H - U H (I didn´t show hover... but as i said; you have 2 turns and you drain all your speed... later you are required of hover maneuvers to point nose towards enemy fighter path)
The grind to ace it is a fucking chore and a half
i usually dont go for ace crews... takes too much time

Imma give you all this one tip for the Harrier, when you are Viffing ONLY drop your Nozzles 30% this will change your thrust so you can pull up alot harder without dropping your acceleration too much

mostly because of the BR they sit... arguably F14(A) with FOX-3 could see a br increase but it is what it is... also some things like su25k at 10.0 with 2x all aspect 30Gs missiles...

I think the thumbnail is very good but the video is kinda boring (no offence) I think you could enhance it with some voice overs because the text is sometimes annoying to read mid game. If you don’t have a microphone maybe just pick an ai voice. And don’t get me wrong I still like the video but you wanted me to review so I hope it helps good luck on your journey.
