Yeah i don't understand why he always decides to drive hard or drift on roads that are nothing but sharp curves and packed with snow on the sides of cliffs with NO guardrails ! @@schaefchenyou should keep the AMG and build a GT3 AMG GTR like the real racecar that races in WEC or IMSA ! It'd be cool to keep the interior stock and make the outside straight racecar ! So a AMG GTR GT3 on the roads where u live would be CRAZY !

Man kann Schaefchen mögen oder auch nicht, aber eines muss man ihm lassen. Er kann im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen hier auf RUclips wirklich gut Auto fahren und bringt es so rüber, dass man dieses "Ich will jetzt neben ihm sitzen" Feeling bekommt. Das schafft fast nur er! Geiler Typ!👍

This is the best sounding European V8. No hate to RS and M but AMG purring is a different league.

Great video. AMG GTR won't drift good if ESC is still active then you aren’t turning everything off correctly. In Race mode with ESP pressed and held so that ESC shows off, not Sport, and driving assistance turned off within the DIC plus the TC turned ‘down’, (more red lights showing), all electronic nannies will be off.👍

It was the SLS AMG that’s related to the Viper. The SLS was supposed to have a twin - the next-gen Viper at the time. The Viper twin was cancelled when Chrysler fell into financial troubles at the time. The AMG GT has no connection whatsoever with any Dodge product. It wouldn’t make sense for Mercedes to ask help from Dodge:
Dodge has been doing this Viper formula of front midship, super long hood, almost sitting at the rear axle since the 1990s. Mercedes has been doing it since the 1950s.

I've worked as an engineer for AMG and a colleague has told me a little bit about the development of the SLS so I can add some more to this.
Usually when you start developing a totally new car you need a testbed (we'd call it "Aggregateträger") to do early powertrain and chassis development in. You basically take an existing vehicle that is similar and transplant the powertrain and chassis into it to test the overall concept. Because the SLS was so different from anything else Mercedes or AMG had made before though, they didn't have a suitable vehicle for that purpose so they had to look elsewhere, thus cooperating with their partner Dodge who was in development for the next-gen Viper at the time.
Maybe a funny anecdote about that test mule car, they had to have the vehicle inspected and certified to meet certain regulations even as a prototype, maybe they wanted to be able to drive it on public roads, I'm not sure. Apparently the car was fine, except it didn't have functioning turn signals. So the AMG engineers said "Lemme fix that real quick" and just bolted turn signals from a G-Wagen onto the fenders with some self tappers.

These actually are the performance seats. The normal seats are more comfortable. Also it does not share a platform or anything with a viper. Also AMG did not get rid of this engine. You can still find it in the new GT63, G63, GLS63, GLE63, SL63
Otto is actually right these are the "normal" seats for a GT-R. The only other option for the GT-R were the Recaro Pole Position "AMG" branded ones.
@@alexoehler1 ah you are right. There are 3 different seat types for the GT and these are the middle harsh ones (which are already very hard and the sportiest you can get in any other AMG), but the soft ones were probably not offered for the GTR - only for the softer versions (GT or GTS or GTC).

@@alexoehler1 no no no, the pole positions came as standard and you coould upgrade to a less track focussed amg performance seat (this one). But the track package was also an option and it gave you a roll cage and harnesses along with the standard pole positions

@@artansadiki3244160 is actually more stable in these cars I was changing lanes at 180 in my e63s it was more planted than 70 no jokes. The drifting on a tiny road however requires skill
